1% Heal on Hit

Looking at various forum posts, I see that heal on kill items are highly valued. I was wondering how good heal on hit is? I recently got a lol 17 staff purple staff from a loot box with 1% heal on hit.
How big a deal is this? I find I'm playing keeper a lot because this is the only decent loot I've found so far. How rare is heal on hit? In some ways I wish I'd never found it. The loot system seems a bit cruel...but addictive

It works pretty well for my alchemist. When I use elemental mine, I have a good chance of getting it when hitting a group. Some times I will get it more than once in one throw, giving me a ton of health back. So for AoE attacks, it seems useful

Same, I hate Alch but after getting that 1% dagger building her for poison kills I'm liking her more and more

Heal of Hit/Kill procs/accessories are always good, at least for higher difficulties. You'd need every bit of assistance available.
No idea on rarity but there are a decent amount of rare items with Healing abilities too. (You can check here for more: https://docs.google....t?usp=sharing )
The "X% Heal Bonus" is also good, but certainly useless when you don't have any means of activating self-healing(other than the potions) for that stat to count!

I have a staff that does 94 DPS (not runed) with 1% heal on hit. I put it on an arcane warrior to test it out...garbage. It's all about the damage. + 2 of the 4 casters have death siphon.

Heal on hit can be great if you also spec for it. Powers like Chain Lightning (6 hits) and Energy Barrage (12 hits) are easy pickings to get out of low health quickly.
But if you have a staff that does twice as much damage and you manage to craft heal on kill I think ur better of. BTW all cottons give heal on kill on the offense-slot of weaponmods.
