The moment I start analyzing a game in terms gold per hour instead of "am I having fun" is the moment I'm done with that game.

It's not about analyzing the game. You start getting into statistical breakdown to figure out why certain playstyles are causing to grind more, not less. If you recall, the people that did the most initial complaining were looters, not speed/xp runners. In all the games I've played I've never come across a looter that said breaking vases is fun for them. They do it as a chore because they think that's the fastest to good gear. That's what started all that tear-threads late November. You'll also notice there's been quite the decline in the number of those threads as well. js

What about those who only play a few matches per day? Think they're better served "following the leader" or grabbing every gold piece they can get their hands on?
Play how you want, idc. Just don't force your choices on others as absolute, undisputable fact.

Either way, I somehow doubt they're going to give players the best of both worlds.

Pots can be handy for people starting out though. Get some gold, even if the group they're in doesn't make it very far for whatever reason.

Simply put this needless grind slows down the pace of games and as a result takes away some of the intensity. Could you imagine if ME3 had a similar looting mechanic? It would completely ruin the pace of the game

MP is no fun anyway. Played about 100 games and i think that's enough. It feels like endless grinding, for what? The crafting is also a big laugh.

I've seen and played way better MP-games. This is even one of the worst because of the forever monotone repetition.

collecting pots (gold) should reward the collector with xp, unique, not shared xp at end of run.

Can you link it to the great idea thread?

I don´t have credits to give anymore, so you´ll have to do it yourself.

Is this part where I'm supposed to jump in and remind the Leprechauns and SpeedRacers that extreme looting lowers your XP/Gold per hr runs, as well as skipping treasure rooms.

Some players just refuse to believe that looting all possible (or most) vases actually slows you down. I hit the 1 Mill wealth banner quite some time ago by balancing between looting and raiding. I spent a few hours last week playing with a few players moderately discussing the topic. What noone appeared to be paying attention to was that our XP and gold/hr rate was extremely low. Once our game sessions were over I was happy to return to random pugging (ikr) where I got my normal rates back.

Kiting bosses during stage 5 slows your XP/hour too. Just kill as many adds as possible and then wipe out. It's right strategy for you?

I like the pots.

They are the multiplayer equivalent of Elfroot...

AND MY OCD DEMANDS THAT I TAKE IT, DAMN IT! Oh maker... help me, please... please. It's not right to leave it... someone stop me.

I'm not in a hurry when I play multiplayer, so like Cyan I like to make those pots PAY, BY BURNING THEM WITH FIRE!

You are exactly what is wrong with pots for people that actually want the gold, we have to pick it up while you just run ahead and you still get the benefits while making no efforts whatsoever, I'd rather be killing mobs too instead of getting the gold for every assholes. ._.

I don't think you're understanding what you're reading:

When I'm solo'ng I don't bother with pots just the open the treasure rooms and that's it.

Who exactly is getting screwed over by him running ahead when he's soloing?

I like to smoke those pots.

The more pot the better I smoke em.

I agree about the completion reward.  Having it be the same as the value of getting the scrolls or a golden nug is silly seeing as that last level is about 20 times harder than any of the other levels.

Are you done being an ******* always quoting me and saying that exact same bullshit, read the second half of it you idiot, don't start your **** today, I'm sick of it and you.

How about you try to understand what you read?

When I'm solo'ng I don't bother with pots just the open the treasure rooms and that's it. On PuGs though you'd generally have people who collect the pots.

Maybe you should try reading more carefully before you go around calling people a**holes.

Pots are a MUST for me. takes me 1 week just to get to 50k, and w/ the RNG treating me like sh_t I need every ounce of gold I can get during my runs.

It is amazing that my group has not yet figured out how to just open the lid and take the treasure instead of smashing the pot like some poor piggy bank.

Put a random chest wherever pots can be placed, just with a maximum so you can't get too many per match. This will make players still search around as normal, but makes the reward more immediate and easier to pick up. This way, even less patient players will make the effort to glance around for a chest and will likely not pass up a free chest, as it is more of a bulk reward

Equally, you are getting all the free xp from his killing efforts.  It runs both ways.

He'd be getting the same exp if he helped in the killing and had some fun doing it.  In my experience it is about a 50 50 split, half the time the guy running ahead can actually hold his own and is good enough to clear and areas.  a bit irritating for me but no harm to the group, except when he insists on opening the door and teleporting you before you have done your treasure hunting.  The other half of the time it is some guy that gets killed way off yonder and then the 'over hear!' shouts come from his body, or better yet.  You and another player are battling a revenant in a treasure room when the whole next spawn shows up at the door.
