People are wishing there had been better and more engaging side content, not for the ability to skip 90% of the game. Telling someone who wished there were better sidequests "well just skip every side quest" is pretty much admitting there are no fun side quests

No, it's saying that the sidequests that are there are clearly not suited to such a player, and as such, they are better off playing something else.

some guy is asking me to take flowers to his wife's grave on the other side of the hinterlands.

*shrugs* A girl once had asked her President  for a Xmas tree during the TV live Q&A show. Guess what? She had her Xmas tree, he saw to it.

Suck it up, delivery boy.  Get back on that bike and keep slinging those papers.  Fereldan is counting on YOU.

I found most of the side quests to be entirely pointless and did not think that they added too much to the story. The ones for your companions were just about the only ones I found interesting, although I did have fun capturing keeps and the like.

I don't mind side quests, really, but it just seemed like there were far more than necessary in this game to balance out the main story. I don't care if this game has 150+ hours of gameplay if 125 of those hours is picking up plants and collecting animal guts.

.....OR do as some people do.  Look the other way when you see a chance to complete a quest.  It won't kill you.....or will it?!?!?  (BqahHHaaaahaaaHHH!!!!!).  That' was maniacal laughter....don't listen to that.  Listen, do you want to enjoy your game?  Play it like you want to.  Nobody is stopping you from playing it as you'd like to.  I can't believe that you'd like to, but then I'm an angry PC gamer without a controller.

From what I hear, this game has ZERO replayability.  That's sad, that people think that I care.  This is a game, that I resold to a kid in Tijuana, Mexico.  I'm not even sure why I'm still typing on this forum. Oh wait, I remember....my car keys were in that package.  Long story, but he's going to fly them over to me in a drone loaded down with what?  This says frijoles or weed...that can't be right.

Let's just stick to GAME specific stuff, Jose.  This guy...anyway, I think that side quests are good...(scratches self)....you need to run around for hours...(scratches)...errands are good.   They get you out of the house and you can run around like a crazy person yelling stuff.

The words of the blacksmith in dragon age origins, poking fun at fetch quests. The warden wasn't even a warden then.

Now I am the inquisitor, leader of armies, last great hope for a world with the sky torn asunder... And some guy is asking me to take flowers to his wife's grave on the other side of the hinterlands. And I did it. And I never even had to go back and tell him it was done, so I guess he'll never know.

I guess times have changed and stupid fetch quests are now what we're supposed to be doing.

It was very different when the errand you were sent on involved someone named Branka, right? Or something labeled "the Sacred Ashes"?

This line was ironically joking DAO itself and other RPGs in general.

Negative, Ghost Rider. I am on my second playthrough right now and I've seen many others who have played 3-5 playthroughs so far.

As I have said before, if picking pretty flowers is not beneath the Dovahkiin, whom we KNOW was touched by a god, then by gum it's not beneath some Inquisitor who just picked up a magic ball.

I totlky disagree. I am finishig my second run and have two more planned, minimum. I've found new things this time around and hubby has found things I haven't. The war table alone offers enough permutations to get me to do another run.

No, it's saying that the sidequests that are there are clearly not suited to such a player, and as such, they are better off playing something else.

So your solution is that anyone who doesn't like the sidequests in DA:I shouldn't ask for deeper and more fun quests in the next game or expansion, they should instead stop buying and playing BioWare games alltogether. People who have been fans for years should just wash their hands of the company rather than explain what they liked and didn't like and hope the next game or expansion is better. My comparison to the combat and hair was an accurate one. By your logic, someone who doesn't like the hair should just go play a game with better hair, someone who doesn't like the combat should go play a game with better combat, etc...it doesn't matter if they like other elements of the game and are hoping for improvements in the future.

Previous games had a variety of sidequests. They had deeper, more engaging side quests as well as shallow delivery quests (DA2's torn pantaloon delivery quests and ME3's eavesdropping quests stick out) and even a few note based quests. There was a balance rather than only the fetch and delivery quests being included.

Why shouldn't they stop buying BW games?

Because obviously they are not having fun. Are you having fun?

There were aspects I enjoyed yes. The side quests I did not enjoy at all. If you're asking if I still play DA:I, no I don't, however as I keep repeating, I want the next game or DLC or expansion to be good and I hope that BW will eventually see our concerns. You seem to want everyone who disagrees with you to shut up and go away, why is that? Why do you care if other people don't like excessive and often mandatory fetch quests?

Slackers.

Also those quests make more sense before you become the inquisitor. Don't forget that at the beginning of the game you are supposed to be an agent of the inquisition, not its leader.

Yep. People are just lazy.

It does NOT take long to do them and I've got a playthrough where I didn't do half of them, people left and I made Cassandra a drunk.

DA2's fetch quests were so ridiculous its not even funny.   And I remember people praising them saying they were easy XP.

I think there likely will be less of them in the next game but if people think they will be eradicated they are in denial

For $70 it has a great deal of replayability. A great many people are just lazy and want everything easy.

I hate that BioWare has such extreme reactions to things, they tend to strip imperfect features rather than improve them. I don't want the fetch quests taken out entirely, I just want other types of quests and deeper side questlines as well.

I always tell him. He thanks you and is especially honored if you are a Dalish inquisitor. I don't recall whether the quest is complete before or after you talk to him though.

It's complete after because you also have to tell him the words that reads on the stone at the gravesite. He also gives you a reward. I think the old guy is endearing.

It would have been better to give at least 5 power for every side quests for people who absolutely hate them. In that way you don't feel forced to do them and get you on the main quests sooner if you want to.

Personally, i don't mind them so much... yet. It's the forever flower picking that really gets on my nerves.
