BlackwallxJosephine is literally the most random pairing I have ever seen. Too people with no chemistry or interaction get the hots for each other. Just wow.

Honestly if it isn't Trevelyan the Inquistior, Solas<3Cassandra is the only ship that won't sink as soon as it's outta-port. That ship would at least hit a sandbar first.

Tbh, I figure Blackwall just wants to get laid and Josephine's the most promising prospect since Sera's gay, Vivienne hates him/loves Bastien, Leliana is the spymaster and he can't have her figuring out his true identity, and Cassandra probably isn't his type. Leliana says at one point that Josephine's a romantic who's been courted several times before and wears her heart on her sleeve. So it's no surprise she enjoys the attention from someone she thinks is a heroic Grey Warden.
What I can't figure out is why Leliana sounded like she would smother the quiz in their sleep if they got too close to Josephine, but she does nothing about creepy old griffon carver in the barn who's sending her bff flowers. At least the quiz has a noble title and can pass a background check(unless they're carta, then nvmd).

Blackwall wants to get laid, he'd go after Not-Hoe Flissa the AIDS-Pit Bartender. And Josephine's betrothed by the end of the game. She has attention. It just makes no sense whatsoever and is the definition of shoehorned.

Flissa never made it out of Haven in my PT :/ And one can want to sleep more than one lady. Also, Josephine would have found out about her engagement well after she begins receiving attention from Blackwall. But yeah, considering that she'll be married to Otranto either way, the whole thing is unnecessary.
My theory is that TPTB were really proud of their Blackwall twist and the character himself, and pretty much did everything they could to make his reveal/judgement and the aftermath of it emotional. So even if you didn't romance him, you might be aware of his interest in Josephine and feel bad about sending him off.

Ugh, no.
I will never understand why so many people look at any situation of two characters interacting -- platonic, mentor/student, sibling-like, antagonistic or flat-out hostile -- and only see it as "OMG they totally want to mash their genitals together!!!!!!!!!!!" People can have relationships of various kinds without romance and/or sex, and these relationships not any less true or deep or worthwhile as a result.
@Qunquistador: Good point about Leliana not giving Blackwall a similar "warning" as she does with the Inquisitor. He's already afraid of her and would probably have a heart attack.
I think he's genuine in his affection for Josie, though, but it is a weird situation nonetheless.

Huh. I hadn't thought about it before, but I can actually see that. I could've sworn that Cass was kinda flirting with Solas during some of their banters.
As for Josie and Blackwall, we just don't get to see them interact very much. However I can see them becoming attached. Blackwall as Rainier was a man of taste. He knew how to play the game. He knows courtly manners and address. So he can meet Josie on her level. And as Blackwall he's got a stubborn integrity that Josie would find very appealing. After all, Leliana chose her for her position precisely because of her integrity. In many ways, they're very similar. Josie's drive to find the path of least bloodshed is motivated by a painful regret in her past, as is Blackwall's commitment to the ideals of the Wardens. Once the truth comes out, I think she's in a unique position to really understand his motives, which is why they continue their flirtation even after the reveal.

I dunno, during her book quest Varric says something to the extend of "Cassandra you don't have friends". The way he said it made me think that he still don't like her much.

Yeah, something about "Tell all your friends - if you have any." Which I thought was a dick move on his part. :/

Ahh, so I'm not the sonly one who noticed, so shall the ship be named solandra?

@jellobell: I find it really hard to pin down where they stand with each other, yes. Varric needles her a lot, and while I think some of it is an attempt to draw her out of her shell (which occasionally succeeds and makes her show a spark of her own dry humor), at other times it feels more like flat-out provocation. He's usually pretty chill and pleasant guy with everyone, but it's obviously their past is a sore spot, and he rebuffs a few admittedly clumsy attempts on her part to make friendly talk.
Cassandra ends up thinking he's a good, virtuous person and that the Chantry is failing people like him, so I suppose that's a sign they bury their hatchet over the course of the game.

I don't see how this is influenced by Varric's feelings for Cassandra. Cassandra would think this regardless of her personal relationship with Varric because it has to do with Varric as person and nothing more. Cassandra is not petty.

Indeed, but I don't think Varric would reveal his beliefs to Cassandra if he was still at odds with her instead of having, at least, some kind of stable truce. While he isn't exactly devout, and can in fact be irreverent about most things, it's probably a rather personal matter regardless.

Josephine x Blackwall...seriously it would be more logical if she ended up with Cullen,I still don't get how the hell Blackwall caught her interest
? As for Varric x Cassandra it would be funny but it wouldn't work out well for one simple reason...Varric's angry fangirls base. They wanted Varric as LI since DA2 and worst part about this is that Varric was meant to be Hawke's LI in DA2,the scene was already written and done but they took it out in last moment...which as you can imagine pi5sed Varric's fanbase extremely. Then lets not mention how BW pretty much forced Bianca out of blue in DA:I just to have some cheap excuse why he is not LI...now if they hooked him up with Cassandra while your Inquisitor couldn't romance him...let's just say nuclear bombs would fall on BW by Varric's angry fanbase.
So let's not tempt fate,yes
? We still need BW for patches and DLC's so let's not get them dead before time ok

Actually the consensus among the old Varricmancer crowd (at least here on the BSN) is that we prefer Varric with pretty much anyone who isn't Bianca. We just want Varric to be happy.
