Josephine x Blackwall...seriously it would be more logical if she ended up with Cullen,I still don't get how the hell Blackwall caught her interest ?

I think Jellobell hits the nail on the head why she likes Blackwall, Cullen is to blunt for her, she describes him as "a man with a hammer in which everything resembles a nail". Josephine likes courtly stuff and being diplomatic, where as Cullen we all see how he fared at the ball.

Blackwall isn't courting Josephine. He's sending her notes like a third grader. As if no one knows it's him.

Huh. I hadn't thought about it before, but I can actually see that. I could've sworn that Cass was kinda flirting with Solas during some of their banters.

As for Josie and Blackwall, we just don't get to see them interact very much. However I can see them becoming attached. Blackwall as Rainier was a man of taste. He knew how to play the game. He knows courtly manners and address. So he can meet Josie on her level. And as Blackwall he's got a stubborn integrity that Josie would find very appealing. After all, Leliana chose her for her position precisely because of her integrity. In many ways, they're very similar. Josie's drive to find the path of least bloodshed is motivated by a painful regret in her past, as is Blackwall's commitment to the ideals of the Wardens. Once the truth comes out, I think she's in a unique position to really understand his motives, which is why they continue their flirtation even after the reveal.

Nope. :P I stand by what I said. There's a difference of severity, obviously. But Josie feels her regret no less sharply for that. She hates the thought of solving something with bloodshed where it could have been solved without because she keeps thinking of what might have happened if she hadn't caused that young man's death. That was a transformative experience for her, and shaped her outlook from then on. The same thing happened with Blackwall. His actions are motivated by regret and the desire to atone, as are Josie's. And because of that, they're both adamant about sticking to their moral codes. So in that sense, they're very similar.

I warned you. Spoilered in case people are susceptible to rapid flashes.

Spoiler

But no, I see their situations as completely different. The former was an unintentional death that was caused by self-defense. The latter was an intentional massacre that was caused by greed. And the latter doesn't try to atone for years, but just runs away. As Cassandra said, "A man who truly aspired to be righteous would not lie. He would earn respect, not steal the respect due another."

Blackwall is also blunt and has no patience for political posturing ... in fact, he has every reason to hate politics, given his background.

I found that Josie x Blackwall makes zero sense from a character prespestive, unlike Vairrc x Cassandra it had little too go on and was shoehorned into the writing.

Also Blackwall is also blunt and a man with a sword in his hand most of the time. I found no reason for Joise to find attraction in him, if that was what she found off putting in a man. So she could've easily fell for Cullen in the game writing.

Blackwall disdains the Game, yes. However he does understand courtly Orlesian culture, and is shown to be adept at courting in the manner that is expected by noble Orlesian society (anonymous love notes, gifts, professions of passion but little face-to-face talking). He's acting the part of the gallant Chevalier to his lady, and that's a role that Cullen would be unwilling to play. Cullen likes it when people don't beat around the bush, in both professional and personal matters.

When does the romance happens? From what I've hear from her, Josephine has rather glossy image of wardens, plus Blackwall up to a certain point fits the Knight in Shiny Armour image and he shows to have manners.

Cullen is too blunt, stubborn and doesn't want anything to do with politics, he says he doesn't understand how Josephine can do it whole day long. And actually from that little argument in the snow, I suspect that they are often finding themselves at odds with the way they approach things.

The flirtation begins before Blackwall's past is revealed, but it does continue afterwards. So it's not just Josie's respect for the wardens that attracts her to him.

I see, perhaps she still sees him as a knight in shiny armour.

Plus, something that occurred to me, they do have one thing in common, they both have killed people and both regret doing it.

True, it was shoehorned. But if Cullen made the same courtly effort, then she'd probably be charmed by him. Josephine doesn't know what kind of man Blackwall is, she's taken by the knight in shining armor that he pretends to be. But even if you don't send him to the wardens, she's not taken enough to end her engagement to Otranto for him. She's more than likely aware that, due to her noble birth and family, they could never have an actual relationship, even if he wasn't a war criminal.

Like Leliana said, when it comes to matters of the heart, Josephine is naive (probably too trusting) and easily carried away. But her being courted by the Inquisitor or Blackwall isn't her first time at the rodeo. She's had other suitors, according to Leliana, so she can enjoy a frivolous romance knowing that nothing will come of it.

And yet Leliana never says to murderer such a Rainer that he is "bad for innocent Josie" while poor Inquisitor(except mine that is nightmare) is worst then Blight for her.

I have a feeling that Leliana still ran a very thorough check on Blackwall. After all, she had the report on Rainier ready ahead of time. So if she thought he'd be bad for Josie then I doubt it would've continued. And Blackwall is nothing but a gentleman towards Josie, so it seems that Leliana was right about him.

Yeah I found what frak Leliana with that comment so the guy that lied his ass off to her is better than me?

And also being a noble is ridiculous reason to dump him, after all, my Inqusitor sees Cullen and he doesn't have title to his name.?

@Qunquistador: Good point about Leliana not giving Blackwall a similar "warning" as she does with the Inquisitor. He's already afraid of her and would probably have a heart attack. :P

I was afraid of her stabby ass too, but that didn't stop her from threatening me  :/  I can only reason that quiz got the warning because quiz has the power and position to pursue Josephine seriously. Although that doesn't explain why Leliana looked like she didn't want Adaar anywhere near Josie from their 1st meeting or why even after she finds out they're in love, she doesn't remark on the relationship positively like Cullen does.

Leliana's a hater  <_<

...he is murderer,liar...plus he killed entire family pretty much all to put person on gaurd.

....Inquisitor on another hand by most player is usually two-goodie shoe that just happen to have series of unluck on his/her way and he/she is not fit for "innocent Josie"?

Leliana has amazing logic of who to keep an eye on and who is perfect man for her friend.Really amazing logic.

Well better then my Inquisitor Draven who is pure psychopath? Yes,both BoreWall and Corypheus are angels compared to mine Inquisitor...but everyone else pretty much plays "goodie-shoes" that wouldn't hurt a fly and poor them get a threat xD

Seems Archdemon/Warden must have kicked Leliana hard in head to mess her up lol

Yeah, fantasizing about how she looks and feels naked. Very gentlemanly of him.
