Do you realise how damaging that would be to the Inquisition if he was found out to be a fake before we built up that great deal of political leverage?
But hey maybe you don't give a **** about the Inquisition. But as the Inquisitor, my character doesn't appreciate severely hurting his own cause

And how would they find out exactly? Not even the wardens knew.

I do give a **** about the inquisition, hence why I'm glad he helped us conscript for it. If you're gonna lie about being someone with that kind of power, you may as well use it.

Ever consider that he agrees with me and knew we could use them? Just because he knew it was illegal doesn't mean his intentions weren't good ones. And I don't think that makes him an idiot. If anything, it was smart to pull the wool over people's eyes to get what we needed now to save the world. They could ****** about it later. AFTER we succeed.

And he couldn't make up for his crimes if he was dead.

He could have saved his men's lives.
Even after we gain massive influence and how the Imperial Crowns favor we still get an indication of the coming ****storm Blackwall's actions have caused with the war table mission. Many of the nobility outright demand those conscripts be released. Josephine suggests we do so if we wan't the Inquisition to last.

Considering his actions in having us use the treaties despite his falsehood His intentions weren't good for our sake, so he either had bad intentions, or he had good ones and is simply a massive idiot.
And if he was trying to make up for his past mistakes maybe he shouldn't have continued to let his men die for his crimes

What?

How is him using the treaties to save the world bad? How does that show his "bad intentions"? You're not making any sense.

The thing that made me uncomfortable wasn't that he killed people. Or even that he killed people for money. But it was the fact that he killed innocents, for money, while at the same time lying to people who had put their absolute faith in him, and who then paid for his actions after he ran. He was supposed to be responsible for the lives of his men, but he threw their lives away for his own gain. That was a very deep, very personal betrayal.

In the end I had him released and gave him his liberty. I do think he's genuinely trying to atone for his crimes. But I'd never put him in charge of any of the Inquisition's soldiers.

Notes in the Exalted Plains indicate members within the ranks of the Imperial Army knew Reiner and saw him, they could have reported it, it was only a matter of time.
The Wardens not knowing is a massive plothole, The Warden Blackwall was Warden-Constable, as in second-in-command of the Orlesian Chapter. They Should have known who he was, especially considering the Constable deals with recruiting. How would no recruits no who their recruiter was?

No, they would have been saved, his sin would remain, and he would just be killed. No good to anyone really.

And they may have demanded it, but I didn't do it. Who the **** cares, you're greatly overstating the implications to be honest. Those nobles were blowing hot air, and once we saved the world and the chantry, they couldn't ****** touch us anyway.

And the inquisition was never meant to last, and it won't.

Because it badly damages relations with the nobles and they demand them back. Josephine suggests we comply if we wan't the Inquisition to last, thats pretty telling.

Yeah I wasn't so impressed with the things he has done but I think he has made a huge effort to redeem himself. However I still don't really 'like' him much. It's hard to describe, I find him meh.

As a potential romance no to the beard and no to the man and as a friend, I just couldn't warm to him at all.

Wasn't this years ago? Seems like they could've forgotten to me. I dunno, but he fooled everyone.

And if they reported it, we'd have dealt with it. By then, you already sealed the rift, and had enough influence for this not to matter. Inconsequential for the most part. Big whoop.

The guy's already been through so much. Having to know the fact that he caused the death of four children. He didn't even know Callier's family was there! And if he called of the attack, he would lose the trust of his men, and lose his place in the Orlesian army. Also, he didn't run away. He felt regret because of what he did. He was loathing himself, until the real Blackwall found him and wanted him to join the Wardens. Thom thought that since he did that horrible crime, it was time to do some good in the world and help those who couldn't help themselves.

Yeah, that happened when we had favor from the Imperial Crown (Whome factions are plotting against in many of the endings btw, That wouldn't have helped matters when your the crowns ally) Now imagine it happening when your a fledling organization with little support, Then its much much worse.

Yeah judging by your attitude, your Inquisition won't last =P

And that's one opinion. Cullen and leliana I believe weren't as impressed by the "issue" as she was. We were indispensable by then. The world needed the inquisition, and our power was beyond them. Josephine misjudged due to her limited window of experience.

Pretty sure he openly admitted to running away rather than staying to be brought up on charges. He met the real warden Blackwall by chance at a pub while on the run.

Who cares about the crybabies among the Orlesian nobility? They're idiots who're busy playing stupid political games while the world is burning.

Yeah right, enemy of the state responsible for the death of a key ally of the Empress and they could have just forgotten it.. Good one
Blackwall joins us before we seal the rift, so if they found out earlier? And even after sealing the rift your influence isn't enough to matter. Heck the Inquisition is largely ignored until it gets the Imperial Crowns favor

You can imagine what you want, but it didn't so who cares. And again, you had enough influence by the time we gain access to the exalted plains for this to roll over.

My attitude doesn't somehow change what happens in the game. My inquisition's the same as anyone else's. Only difference is I do much less bitching in mine :P

And like I said, none of them will, so better prepare for disappointment dude.

Was talking about the grey warden recruits....

How would they find out earlier? Exalted plains wasn't available until after we sealed the rift.

And josephine made it rather clear we were anything but ignored prior to gaining the crown's favor. That's just like, your opinion man. Your biased opinion.

Leliana doesn't have a stated opinion, Cullens no diplomat and he says "We have the Wardens as allies no anyway so this shouldn't matter"

Yes alright, who cares about the nobility of the most powerful empire in the world. Well your key ally the Orlesian Monarch does, but who cares about their opinion either? We don't need the most powerful Empire in the World in a crisis that threatens the world......

Yeah, I had zero sympathy for the nobles who came whining to the Inquisition after Blackwall was revealed to be a fraud. We shouldn't have needed those treaties to get their support in the first place. The whole of Thedas was being threatened by a crazy megalomaniac who wanted to take over the world.

This

Leliana doesn't have a stated opinion, Cullens no diplomat and he says "We have the Wardens as allies no anyway so this shouldn't matter"

And he's exactly right. Josephine gives the nobility too much credit.

Pretty much this. If the soldiers ( I refuse to use the word conscripts, since I like to think they came of their own volition, not dragged on a leash) themselves would have asked to leave I would have allowed them. The nobles can go cry in a corner while quizzie deals with the hole in the sky.

As for the the character himself, Killabee already said what I wanted to say.

Did you forget Duncan? The Warden that recruited you? considering the circumstances Warden's are usually recruited in that seems highly unlikely

They would have found out earlier because they did find out earlier, the notes in the plains refer to seeing him in Val Royeaux earlier. But thats irrelevent. Im stating a what if scenario, What if they did find out earlier?

The Crown and Chantry had next to nothing to do with you before the winter palace, Nor did King Markus or Tevinter. And aren't Anora and Alistairs missions beyond "Get rid of these spies in my court" Not available before the winter palace as well?

So? We didn't need the crown, nor the chantry to do what we were doing up until that point anyway.

Lol, if Orlais fell I would join Loghain in the celebration. Orlais is overrated.

He knew they were there. He heard them sing a nursery rhyme before the carriage was attacked, yet he still attacked it and butchered them all. Plus saying that the only downside to calling it off was losing his station as if that is the worse option is disgusting. A station in the military is worth more than the life of several innocents? And yes, he did run away. He had no plans of redemption until after meeting Blackwall some time later.

But honest question, would you let a mass murderer go free without any form of punishment because they feel bad about it?
