Yes, because he has been nothing but honest with us.
he has just come out with it all no reason to say "Yeah I believe the parts where you are a monster, but not the part where fate screwed you over"

I wasn't being serious. Hence the
emoticon.
And why would he lie about what happened there?
I never said he lied. I just said we had the word of a ma whose word isn't worth much. Until we have more evidence about what happened, we don't know for certain how everything went down.
I'm curious as to the motivation for such dedicated hater behavior. Like, I can't imagine seeking out the threads of characters I dislike in order to post again and again about how much I dislike them. I could see it for a character like Loghain or Anders where it's plot events you're discussing, but just pure character hate is strange.
I actually like the main Blackwall thread even if the character makes me want to kick him into a volcano. I lurk often and sometimes post comments. That a crime now?
As for this thread this thread pretty much is asking for a discussion on how Blackwall is/is not a misunderstood hero. But I wasn't aware the judgement scene suddenly stopped being a plot event. When did that happen? Also if it bothers you that much you might want to leave the thread. No one's keeping you hostage here.
I would never be self righteous
condescending, dismissive, rude, and sarcastic are all on the table though
XD

Saying his word isn't worth much pretty much means he might be lying, he was personally there and at that point has no reason to lie and the most valuable source of info on what happened
Not taking his word for is like I said earlier, just not liking the character

I'd retort, but I am totally guilty of going into Liara and Merrill threads

Not really. He could be telling the truth. He could be lying. He could simple be remembering inaccurately. Until we have more evidence, we just don't know. Also I give him the benefit of the doubt on this event, so you are wrong about my dislike influencing my thoughts. It's not like I'm accusing Rainier of murdering Blackwall then stealing his identity, though now that I typed that I am sure there will be people saying I think exactly that. Please stop assuming things.
I liked the Blackwall character....
My Warden Commander Cousland recruited the likes of Velanna, Oghren and Nathan Howe... yes, that's HOWE!!!!!!
The dregs of societly have always been welcome in the Wardens.... even a haven....
Once my Warden Commander Cousland finds a cure for the calling and reunites with Morrigan and Kieran... he will make Blackwall undergo the Joining...
Maker watch over him... the beard alone will probably save him.
Let's not forget that if the Inquisitor speaks to Blackwall in the Hinterlands, he saves the Inquisitor from a fatal arrow to the face.
Blackwall saves the Inquisitor and the Inquisitor saves the world.
Which means Blackwall saves the world.
Plot event as in main plot event.
I stopped reading it about 20 pages ago, occasionally glance in to see if it's gotten interesting but it's the same thing over and over.
If that's your yardstick for judging characters I suppose Fenris is a nonentity?
Then maybe that simply showing you you're not interested in the subject.
I was only a bit disappointed with Blackwall since I sort of saw his twist coming a mile away. So I was sort of actually hoping for an actual legit Grey Warden companion.
Thinking on that, BioWare could have had a great Yoshimo style moment with an actual Warden companion given what was going on at Adamant.

That man was sent from the Maker ![]()

Alternatively, that arrow would never have been shot at the Inquisitor if Rainier wasn't there impersonating Blackwall in the first place.
Arrow nearly kills the Inquisitor. Which means Rainier nearly kills the Inquisitor and almost dooms the world.

If the next game is north, that means we are right next to or in the Anderfels which means we may get one then.

If we go by that logic
Solas nearly kills the Inquisitor by handing the orb to C.
Sera by trying to get that pansy noble.
Vivienne by having that other pansy noble threaten the Inq.
Dorian for leading us to an infested demon chantry.

Yeah can we just settle this with everyone could've resulted in the Quizzy being killed. Except maybe Cole.

Exactly because Cole is the best.

I thought you would like the idea of the Southerners being sources of danger while Tevinter proper never does, the only threat from them being a group they don't support.
Nah, he totally saved the Inquisitor's life.
After putting the Inquisitor's life in danger. The net worth of the event is zero.
But you hurt people D:
Don't we all?
Exactly because Cole is the best.

he was supposed to predict that the Inquisitor would show up while he was dealing with the thieves and try to kill him?
"You don't like helping people!"
"Cole, I'm sorry I forgot to do the sidequests before Halamshiral..."
"I said you don't like helping people!"
"Come on Cole,! Let's go to Emprise right..."
"Forget..."
he was supposed to predict that the Inquisitor would show up while he was dealing with the thieves and try to kill him?
To be fair, they came to kill Blackwall. He leaves out that detail, but a note one of them drops says otherwise. Can't really blame him for that, though.
he was supposed to predict that the Inquisitor would show up while he was dealing with the thieves and try to kill him?
No, but the threat also would not have existed if he wasn't there, thus he both caused and stopped the problem, resulting in a net worth of zero.

Blackwall did no such thing.
The Inquisitor sought him out while Blackwall was taking care of business.
You seem to be jumping through hoops to avoid the fact that the Blackwall saved the Inquisitor's life.
