For this question, I decided to embody my video game perfectionism (my need to collect everything), and my preference to playing "the good guy" in RPGs, in my first time playthrough Qunari.
Adaar is vulnerable to demons of fear or despair. He doesn't fear the foes he meets on the battlefield; he's confident that his skill and willingness to work with others will carry him through... nor is he reckless; he keeps an accurate assessment of his own abilities, those of his allies and especially those of his enemies. He'll run from a fight if need be, but sometimes he charges in, well-knowing that it won't be a fair fight.
Away from the battlefield, Adaar loses that self-surety. He never knows if he’s doing enough. He's a genuinely nice soul, and he really does try to help everyone whenever he can. When people hear of him by reputation, some become incredulous when they hear tales of his so-called "benevolence". He knows this; he knows that people view him as an instrument of order, a champion, an ideal. He likes that. He wants to believe that those ideals can exist, that he can be something more than himself.
That's why he’s vulnerable to demons who prey upon doubt.
Adaar collects everything he can that can be put to use later at some unforeseen date; he investigates every minor incident; tries to settle every slight grievance. He pours his heart and soul into being this champion of good, and that’s where his fears begin. He's a benevolent force, a hero to the right people... and because of that, he fears that he's no longer human. Not in the sense of race, but of being. He wonders, "Can anybody be really that virtuous and remain a complete individual? Do I still feel love, hate, anger or actual compassion? What do those things feel like anymore; have I lost them? Am I even a person anymore?"
That's what keeps Adaar up at night. Not tomorrow's plans, not the next meeting at the war table, not the enemy he might face; it's a fear he can’t confess to anyone else. A fear that ultimate good does exist… and it's his curse.
