Couldn't care less for Qunari or dwarves even if I wanted to, they always seem out of place and awkward looking. But it's nice of BioWare to cater all sorts of fanservices.
Were dwarves and qunari worth it?

It was definitely worth it. I love people's reactions to me as another race. I even had a few people tell me they would not talk to me as a qunari. Priceless.

I don't care for qunari, but I probably wouldn't have bought the game without dwarves lol

My Cadash-playthrough was great: He thought that magic was super weird, which is why he reacted slightly allergic to anything magical. Except Dorian, cause Dorian understood surface dwarfs.
I didn't manage to play such a character as a human or elf yet. I wonder what I come up with if I ever play Qunari.

They're like square pegs trying to fit into round holes in the DAI story. At least, that's how I feel. I have no interest in playing other races for the DA series, been human all the way from DAO to DAI. The funny thing is that I'd most likely jump for other races in the ME series if they were offered.

Yes It's very funny because I feel exactly the opposite. I really don't find any value on playing an alien in ME preferring to play human all the way but I would really like an elf dedicated story in Dragon Age. ![]()

You probably can't meet Shale. If you do, she'll probably be Shayle Cadash/of House Cadash, since Wynne helped her reverse being a golem.
=O They should make her a romance in the next game!
Have you read the novel Asunder?
According to that:

meh, I never made a dwarf in DA:O and I have yet to try dwarf or qunari in DA:I. I think it's worth it though as it was what the people wanted when development for the game began. I'm an elf person who occasionally plays human as well.

My Chantry-inspired Qunari made my first playthrough very enjoyable and memorable. I have yet to make a Dwarf character.

I've played both a dwarf and qunari and I'd say both yes and no. I enjoyed playing both but dwarf was my least favourite (I've never liked playing a dwarf, even in DAO I only played dwarf twice to try thee two origin stories, and that;s out of 60+ playthroughs). My issue was the animations were sometimes messed up bevause of the height of my dwarf. I romanced Josie and a few of the scenes look really, really awkward. So for me, it would have been fine to leave out dwarf, but I understand how some people enjoy it enough that I think it was good they put it in.

but there's nothing wrong with playing a dwarf
Really? Could you watch this scene and say it again?
I mean something like 'Sure, that scene makes sense and it was written with a dwarven female character in mind'?
I especially love the way her height changes from 'barely reaching the partner's bosom armpit' to 'visibly above the shoulder' (like at 1:20). Must be levitation.
I won't even say anything about rogue dwarves& tal-vashoths knowing the ballroom dances.

Takes a badass dwarf to pull that off with such style. 10/10, would dance again.Really? Could you watch this scene and say it again?
People can learn and get taught all sorts of dances. I'm not seeing why the dwarves or the qunari should be any less capable in this regard, and you have whole inquisition worth of advisors to teach you things. It's not like they're unaware there'd be dancing at this kind of Orlesian social gathering.I won't even say anything about rogue dwarves& tal-vashoths knowing the ballroom dances.

As someone who played. DA:O first 1 time elf romance, 1 human noble , and 4 human mage. All romance Morrigan. I love Morrigan ![]()
DA2 It was good, much better focus on story than DA:I.
DA:I first play human mage, made Qunari deleted it and made human, bored at Hinterlands never play again.
I think DA:I should be elf only.

Definitely worth it, I've really enjoyed my Cadash playthrough, and I'm on an Adaar one right now. They don't get nearly as much content as the other two races, but it's still worth having them. What isn't there, I can headcanon. You can't even begin to headcanon if they don't exist in the first place.

But the whole point is the square peg and round hole. The Qunquisitor is a random mercenary and everyone has to do crazy mental gymnastics to accept you as Herald. It's great.

Just like how you can study rulership and chantry history I'm sure Josie had a "how not to dance like an unwashed pleb" class before the Ball.
It's not as if the human Mage would have taken "Orlesian Ballroom Dancing" as the 8th year Circle Mage Elective instead of "The Veil and You: What to do if the Fabric of Reality Breaks at the Seams."

Race options in general were absolutely worth it, IMO.

I played as a Dwarf for my first play through, and I was disappointed in the lack of real roleplaying opportunities that my Dwarf Inquisitor had. I couldn't really play my character as a staunch traditionalist of Dwarven ideals; apart from saying one line about how "I believe in the Stone" I wasn't recognized as a dwarf when dealing with Varric's companion quest with Bianca, and overall my Dwarf felt like a short human, instead of a member of a race with their own unique culture and outlook on the world. Qunari gets a little more reactivity; though not much more; and the elves are second to humans in recognition and acknowledgment.
Even as a Dwarf fan, I would have to say that I would prefer single racial option for the protagonist if it means that we get more roleplaying opportunities and more content. The only way that I can see multiple races working in DA or ME to the level of success that DA:O had is to make the PC silent, anything less than that only waters down the overall narrative (IMO).

You can't be a traditional dwarf no matter what because you're not currently following the dictates of your caste in Orzammar. Even the Noble Aeducan isn't a traditional dwarf.I played as a Dwarf for my first play through, and I was disappointed in the lack of real roleplaying opportunities that my Dwarf Inquisitor had. Like when Hawke in DA2 says he's never seen a dwarven noble - Varric responds by saying he still hasn't seeing as how they're meeting on the surface. You're like Varric - who basically IS a short human.
