So in other words, it's all in your head?
Possibly, as I try and keep an open mind towards the material. Others may be of another mind set and have their own prejudicial issues and expectations; only a theory.

I've of the mindset that when i play a game i expect to enjoy it.

Perhaps you should try my game then; terrific.
I would if it wasn't imaginary.

Except your game is....wait for it.
In. Your. Head.
You are making what you are saying up to justify what you *think* is going onscreen is what you think it should be, not what it is.
Headcanon =/= ingame plot/story/interaction. It is purely subjective, which is fine, but you are presenting as a *real* thing that happened, which it didn't. The inquisitor does *not* question or get to "pick" which quest he should accept or not, there is nothing ingame that treats the myriad fetch quests, for example, as the *character* having an opinion that says "I don't want to do this, can you do it <insert character here>".
It's either that, or paid shill is paid.

I must be really good at it then if I can change cut-scenes into combat, alter War Table quests, throne judgments, and other parts of the game with Full VO and varied dialogue. Thought my RP was more about choosing varied personalities and approaches, allowing me to choose other options if I wished to explore other avenues, yet now find I am blessed to get full co-op with the Devs to have all this other additional content to examine.
Or some of the critics are simply wrong, but what are those odds....
I tried choosing a personality for my character too. Didn't work for long. The auto-dialogue killed the whole thing. The inquisitor is an NPC not a player character.
I think a little reminder is in order:
Picking different advisors for a table mission yields different results (even though technically there's only ever one optimal choice), having a different racial background changes some interactions in the game and doing specific quests in different ways do cause different endings for said quest (Elhanan is obviously talking about Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts and yes, you can fight the villian, or you can reveal her publically without a fight, etc.).

It seems like with every Bioware game we are losing more and more control of our characters. Hell, we can't even set our own attributes anymore...

The table missions are an illusion of choice, what difference do they actually make? my whole clan was wiped out and nobody mentions it.
The racial backgrounds are extremely underwhelming, my DALISH elf doesen't even know who mythal is apparently...
The main quests are the only place where choices are a bit better and even then its rare and makes little difference later on. Does it even mater who rules Orlais? what difference does it make because i didn't notice any.

We are down to 5 options. Guy with 2 daggers, mage, guy with big weapon, guy with bow, guy with weapon and shield. That's it. And races, of course - but those seem to be more of a cosmetic choice, really.
Attributes are gone. Control over our own character's personality is gone. Control over our character during conversations is gone.
How about Bioware just stops pretending next time and just make some Pg-13 version of God of War and stick it in Thedas? It is the next step anyway.
Well that's too bad. I am having a great time, I also play on PC and I don't understand what the big deal about the controls is..? Granted I don't use the tactical cam, but I really fail to see the big deal here. Can anyone explain to me why I am supposed to hate the controls?
Same here. I play on the PC too. I've had no issues learning the controls. This goes down to people either being lazy or unwilling to accept the fact that game controls change.
Well that's too bad. I'm on my 7th playthrough and still enjoying it just as much as my first playthrough (on PC). I hope you find something to play that you enjoy,
Yep, this is about right, I'm on play through 4 and I'm really enjoying the multiplayer.
Sad that the OP doesn't enjoy it, but a lot of people do.

Hah, okay.
I have not heard much auto-dialogue in DAI with which I disagreed. While I have disagreed with a few of the dialogue options yielding an unexpected result, the auto-dialogue has been much better than other games. My empathetic, romantic, stern, inquisitive, and other Inquisitors remain in character. Actually prefer the higher level of choice available in DAI to that of the ME series for instance, and remaining immersed in character has not been problematic beyond a few instances.
You were lucky then. You picked the "default" choices. My stern + ruthless dwarf started giggling like a telletubby during one of the auto-dialogue sequences. That is how you utterly kill a character.

Its a fun game. People just hate change. And are too stubborn to admit they hate change. Also...the fact still remains that this games still has received far less rage than what DA2 got when it came out.

Ah yes, Bioware half a**es the controls for PC and its the players fault.
Same here, I'm burned out for now. About halfway through the game. It's not just the lackluster plot, shallow quests, disaster of a UI, boring loot, silly weapons and armor design, inconsequential wartable missions,.. it's all of that combined. A perfect storm of meh.
Sounds like you are just lazy, want hack and slash combat...and want everything easily handed to you
Auto dialogue, dialogue that comes no matter what choice you choose. Both the NPC and the inquisitor does it. The worst part of it is how your facial features or tone doesn't quite carry over. So you can smile and chuckle away as if you didn't tell someone you threatened their empire (celine) or something.
Forceful hawk or even sarcastic hawke was at least an interesting personality design. Inquisitor is always 'nice' to people even when making not nice decisions.

Like I said. Works fine for me. Its called learning to adapt. If I whined about how every game I enjoy changes...I wouldn't be playing games.

Oh dude, was that the cassandra romance? Playing a ruthless character and then him giggling was just ridiculous.

Funny how I got many people in my last game to leave. You obvious played the wrong choices then.

You mean just like DA:I? The game even hands you new weapons if you sell them. Impossible to be unarmed in that game. Probably because a hack and slash game won't function without weapons...
