I thought that was the focus of discussion in this thread, not if it exists or not - we discuss around the thoughts of the loot system - and creating good crafting possibilities certainly will amend to the current system.

Sorry, I was just having a whinge. I do agree that being able to do something with the materials would be great.

I was quietly surprised that the week-end weapon challenges didn't capitalise on a perfect opportunity to add some schematics in the commendation chests - actual weapon schematics. Get 100 maul kills, unlock a maul schematic or whatever, seemed like a pretty logical connection to me, but nope.

Sure, but that would be too easy atleast if they are to be any good - as you can solo those 100 kills on routine, even on level one in about 8 minutes.

True, but if it's done right you don't have the best materials in 8 minutes.

Sure plenty of us have materials coming out our ears, but that's the result of hours of play.

Approximately 30-40 tier 3/4 mats + grips etc isn't an afternoon's worth of loot.

The loot system could be fixed so easily on so many levels.... It's pretty clear we all want a change.

I miss power damage being independent of weapon damage.

The start to all build guides here is "get a good weapon"

Quoted for truth.

Also, good games reward players' knowledge and skill, bad games encourage item grinding.

I doubt we'll get substantial changes in the loot system, as some of you already know, the game was designed mp-only at first, and the mp part took well over 2.5 years to develop, despite those bugs, I'd say whatever we get now is intended long time ago.

Still, *reserved for future use*.

It just seems so bizarre that there is a complete (if rather simple) crafting system in the game, that's even implemented in the MP game, and then no schematics.

You loot items that are of no value to you, so you salvage them for materials... that are also of no value to you. The biggest problem with the DAMP gear grind is it's not a "grind", you gain nothing by accumulating more loot, I've got all this stuff, but I'm literally no closer to the next item on my wishlist than I was when I opened my first chest.

Yeah, I guess they should add more schematics which have unique properties to the game.

Also, any thoughts on non-salvageable armors? I fail to see these inferior armors actually serve any purposes when I get better ones.

The loot system is going to get worse if DLC adds more items, thus further diluting the loot pool.

The thing with ME3's loot system was that once something was fully upgraded it was out. With this one, the Raider greatswords will. Never. Stop. Coming. Ever.

Craftable gear could give the game some longevity, It would allow some innovation at least which is what I feel the game is lacking as much anything.

I agree. I have no idea why they arent salvageable. They should at least not take up inventory space.

Its really sad they didnt spent more time on multiplayer items. It really feels like 30 minutes effort for me.

1) Only difference from SP is removed level restriction.

2) Some items are having %focusgain => nobody even LOOKED at them at mp section.

3) some rings increasing skills that doesnt exist in multiplayer.

4) Crating material does NOTHING :(

The lack of progression is booooooriiiing. What saddnes me the most is that i havent tried the lv 14/16 pruples. Since their dmg is so low it would greatly hinder my game. I understant that progresion from promotion + progresion from item leveling would be to big synergy for difficulty of the game right now.

P.S: Trash the berserker attributes at items in MP, its hardcore even for me.

BTW, I found this picture that kinda explains how I feel about microtransactions in games:

You wouldnt need it really, if you could actually salvage armor. I guess the only reason for that is that they wanted to prevent people being left with no armor at all accidentally, or that the characters wont work or something, if they suddenly for some reason dont have an armor they can equip.

They should either be salvageable, where you cant salvage the one you wearing, and you have to wear one - or they should not count towards inventory.

Besides, in this game inventory should really be limitless.

Not if you want to cheap out on servers. People like me just wouldn't salvage stuff, meaning a lot of data would accumulate I imagine.

You would if you could create cool stuff with crafting materials.

I generally agree with the video, although I'd argue that multiple drops of the same unique are as big an issue as the 90% that are useless and deserve special mention. It's a sore point for me I guess.

I had some hope for the weekend event, after all Bioware said during their live streams before launch that we'd get schematics from weekend challenges and the added community challenge could have been the change I was looking for. But apparently not, we got two more regular chests of disappointment instead.

Man, this game had so much potential ... *sigh*

Looking back it seems that ME3 MP was a fluke where the SP components worked perfectly for MP. Perhaps we gave Bioware more credit than they deserved with ME3 MP as it does not seem that the features that made it an incredible game were designed to work that way, but instead were simply pulled from the SP. Now this is not to say that ME3 MP was not incredible, only that the developers might have just gotten lucky more than intentionally designed everything to work perfectly. I mean DAMP is a complete mess and Bioware used the exact same formula as with ME3 MP. Perhaps they thought lightning would strike twice so long as they did not deviate whatsoever. Either that or the DAMP team is completely and utterly inferior to the ME3 MP one. I guess we will find out next year.

I'll blame Bioware for making ME3MP too much fun. I compare too many things to it these days

My problem of the loot items are the looted items themselves, they are very dull and little fun to use.

Developers should take a look to diablo legendary items and sets me3mp weapons so they can get the idea of what makes items fun, I don't want an item that doubles my dps because that only means Im killing thing faster but hapens that I just use the same tactics that before getting that item.

The other problem is about how lots of classes needs two or three skills to function or how some skills are totally outclassed by others so everytime I try a new build, I only find disapoint.

INB4 Permaban and loss of Origin title functionality for criticizing the gods on mount frostback

Edit:

Also if it were as simple as being able to get fade touched items craftable one time use on items that would be a game changer

Well since the items here are very simple and not many variations i would say each item = +/- 8 bytes.

To reach 1mb HD space you would need 125 000 items.
