Whether this thread gets deleted and the original at http://social.biowar...06/index/772168 gets unlocked or not, mods please note that the issue described in that thread by those users is *not* the same issue as the Cerberus one.  The issue in that thread is the lockups encountered at the orange graphic loading screen immediately after picking Male, Female, or picking a character to import.

Yea that don guy did not even read the thread apparently no its not a dupe thread.

IF he read the thread he would know that the game locks up AFTER we make a new char/import a char.

Mine does not, but my girlfriend's PC does. The game doesn't crash as much as it simply locks up, and the process under task manager shows up as "Not Responding". People of various hardware types in that thread have the same issue.

Just remember to add your hardware in also guys (im out at the moment so I dont wanna depend on my memory atm so there can be some comparison.

Alright so I will throw in my two cents. First my rig:



Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.81 GHz

RAM: 3.00 GB

System type: 32-bit Operating System

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

Driver Version: 8.15.11.9038 (tried updating but there is no new drivers supposedly.)

Monitor: Acer 21.5" H213H Full HD Monitor

Native Resolution: 1920x1080

Native Refresh Rate: 60Hz

Every video setting turned off in game, all the items in the NVIDIA Control Panel turned off.



Now, I launch the game, press any key to continue, select new game, select gender, go to loading screen and it hangs. I then launched the game, went to the kitchen to grab a beer, came back and finished watching the trailer, press any key to continue, selected new game, selected female, passed the loading screen, watched the intro movie with no problems, played the in game with no problems, (well few hicups here and there but duh my computer is a POS lol), watched another video thingy, watched the Lazarus Project video, edited my character, confirmed, skeleton loading screen, AppHang error. So yes POS system can run this game with no graphical errors besides slight hicups but still crashing on the very next loading screen.



And people wonder why I started a club called "Remove loading screens from our games or if you have to have them in there make them black screens with no motions because they eff up our games!"



Well that is some tidbits on my problem, just the same as all of yours. Lets hope bioware gets this fixed ASAP. I preordered the DIgital Deluxe version off of steam the day it was available because I loved Mass Effect and have been so excited for Mass Effect 2.... Now I am just irritated at this game and want to kick my computer.



PS I have also written an email to Bioware themselves and sent a message to Don about the thread confusion.

I am experiencing the same problem..any ideas?

I choose male..the laod screen starts..then it craps out..i have to either do a hard reboot or CTRL-alt-delete to task manager..end task..says not responding.

Understood addiction21 - but my point is, that other thread already had ALL of our hardware specs PLUS any troubleshooting we did.

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500 + 

2.2 GHz

2 Gig Ram

NVidia 9800 GTX (drivers up to date)
