They were supposed to disintegrate, but these didn't due to reasons. People disintegrate when they die, too, except when they don't. It's one of those mysteries in Bioware games.... and in most games as a matter of fact because of the reason that it requires memory to maintain all those corpses in the areas. You wouldn't have been able to have that discussion with Falare and Samara if there were no Banshee corpses.
I would have loved to have seen the dead dragon corpse laying on the ground instead of this "loot" thing. We got to watch the corpse disappear. We should have been able to skin the thing, bleed it, and take meat from it.

If her character still stayed but the special effects around her was gone, it was probably just due to lag. It happens all of the time, but they will get removed after a few seconds.

May be the self destruct in the tech doesn't activate some times. In an ME2 Codex I remember reading about Cerberus doing "autopsies" on Praetorians and Scions. Actually there was something about lethal gas released (no fart jokes) when they broke down too. So don't inhale that' ash looking' sh*t.
So you can argue the 'self destruct' thing isn't 100% reliable.
But then again nothing is.

That's the answer right there. There was excessive lag in the monastery and the banshee corpses didn't disintegrate.

Just like the dead Cerberus trooper on Mars who puts his helmet back on, when you walk back to the corpse, after makin the discovery that TIM "improved" him.

There are other glitches in games, too! Like the dragon who got its head stuck in a mountain so we could beat the hell out of it.

He perhaps refers to the Banshee body that Falere points out in the cutscene.
"They are turning us into... those"
If that's the case, I think that the Banshee there isn't dead. It's just unfinished. Like husks that can stay impaled for quite some time but only after the spike retracts and the "port" is sealed do they become "active"

So long as that corpse doesn't follow you around like in Skyrim ![]()

Skyrim had this other bug. I became a werewolf and had this quest, then was going to get married in Riften, and because I'd accidently hit the guy at the lodge with my sword on a mission, he wanted to fight, but was all friendly about it. He crashed my wedding. I ran away and fought and "killed" him and lured bears around him, and ran back to Riften. And he found me again. Then I took ran to a dragon and dragon priest and left him solo fighting the beast and ran away. Went back to Riften for my wedding and he found me and killed my groom. He was a plot character and couldn't be killed. So I had to load a save from about two days earlier and not do any of his quests. Well my groom was the blacksmith.
You know that sonofab*tch quit his job and wanted to take up painting? I thought I'd get a damned discount on raw materials, but no. Now I've got to support the lout? Reload before the wedding, and no wedding. Someone stole my sweetroll.

Nah, OP. There are some Banshees that are part of the Scenario. The ones you fight do desintegrate, but the ones that are there are just Cosmetic things in the Monastery.
