I'm sorry I can't find a picture of what I'm looking for to help with clarification, but does anyone know if mages can use or find a staff that's modeled after the staves the Venatori mages and spellbinders use?

It is possible to find the components to make a staff of the same model;

 

Base staff - Dreamweaver availble from Pierre Marie's shop in Val Royeaux,shop on right hand side as you first enter the city.As far as I can tell there is no schematic for this model in the game.Dreamweaver can also show as random loot - I have found one with the Ferelden Banner Crown in the Astarium Cave on the Storm Coast with all my characters so it may be a fixed drop there.

 

Grip - Thin Staff Grip Tier 3 Schematic  - random drop from T3 chests,Valeska's Watch or the Still Ruins in the Western Approach if you feel like chest farming - I have found this schematic at both locations.I have also come across the thin staff grip model as an upgrade on random staff loot but it often has a different name.

 

Blade - Masterwork Magister Staff Blade Tier 2 Schematic - always to be found in the vault beneath the Grand Library at the Winter Palace.
