DAI needs more Deep Roads! I need more underground exploration! They need to make a super massive 2,000+ hour Deep Roads DLC for DAI! You should be able to walk from the farthest point in Orlais to the farthest point in Ferelden while exploring and questing underground.

yeah I when I was in Valammar i was like, "What is this weak ****? The only part of the Deep Roads in the game has a huge hole in the top letting in all kinds of sunlight!?"
If we were to return to the Deep Roads in earnest, I would like it to be a bit more like in The Calling. It was probably my least favorite of all the tie-in books but they made the Deep Roads sound pretty cool. What we'd need:
- Roaming hordes of dangerous darkspawn
- Very scarce light/limited light sources
- being very far from any kind of camp and having to scavenge for supplies to create poultices for health.
The Deep Roads isn't lacking in concept, but we could end up making an epic Deep Roads expedition into really compelling (and hopefully challenging) optional content.

Agreed there needs to be more deep roads, there is just too much stuff down there involving ancient dwarven thaigs, darkspawn, lyrium etc... not to go back down there.

I agree, even revisit the place(thaig) where the first red lyrium was discovered to do research w/e and Varric/Hawke knows where it is. AND visit Orzammar again which already looked awesome but could look even better now.
Since most of the game revolves around red lyrium it would be the most logical tbh.
I mean for something that's 'hidden' and red lyrium is all over the place suddenly.

ya that's why I liked the deep roads in DA:O, that kind of atmosphere like the area with the brood mother, had a real dark/horror feel to it. Open worlds with pretty trees is good and all, but sometimes you really just need some good 'ol dark dungeon crawling.

Yes please!
I need to be in a dungeon, wiping out hordes of monsters that want to rip my face off!

I think having a good reason to actually venture deep into those horrible tunnels first would be nice. Red lyrium is pretty much coming out of the ground on the surface, so unless there's something special down there that can address it, or if we're hunting for something that may solve a problem on the surface (or everywhere), there's not much point to going into the Deep Roads. I suspect that we won't be playing a Warden again, or at least I hope not. Fighting hordes of darkspawn isn't very interesting to me, so I would like there to be much more to it than that, because been there, done that.

If Varric is in the party, he says that it's "not quite the Deep Roads", since you're just at an entrance point that you eventually seal off.

I suspect we may get a single player DLC set in Kal Sharok, given the war table missions which involve the dwarves from there.

The Deep Roads are pretty much perfect for DLC.
a. Nobody wants to go into the Deep Roads except for a specific reason.
b. The Deep Roads make for great stand alone / isolated zones that wouldn't make the DLC intrusive or out of place compared to the original zones.
c. The Deep Roads are endless and unexplored; an open world game's wet dream.
etc.

I actually enjoyed dwarven politics with the Warden, even though the Warden was ultimately tirelessly running errands for stupid dwarves. Cheats and liars, people were ready to bludgeon each other to death, and you can garner favor by fighting in the Proving. What's not to like? XD

You're joking but the Deep Roads were one of my favorite parts of DAO. Walking in the ruins of ancient dwarven civilization, seeing what was lost, fighting the Darkspawn as Grey Wardens are meant to, witnessing the hopelessness of the dwarves, travelling deeper than anyone ever had until the walls and ground become naught but corrupted flesh, witnessing the horror that births the Darkspawn, etc.
Never have I felt more in a fantasy setting. Whenever I replay DAO, one of the first things I do is cut a line through the Darkspawn at the Dead Trenches.

Because everyone loved the super long deep roads section in DAO, right? Hahah, it might be cooler with the new engine and larger areas with no load screens though.
I personally preferred the Deep Roads to the Circle quest at least 10:1.
I would definitely like more Deep Roads. Crestwood was such a troll, making me think I was headed towards a nice big Deep Roads tunnel. Boo.

I agree there wasn't enough deep roads or darkspawn in this game, but I'm still holding out that Kal Sharok will be a DLC.

I did? More then the Forest and the werewolves, surely a lot more than the circle...I loved to run throguh those abandoned thaigs, imagining what happened there centuries ago. I also friggin loved to storm the fortress of the Legion, charging along that brdige. The broodmother-discovery?
And Valammar and even more, dungeon beneath Crestwood made me crave to go all Deeproads even more!
