Why can't there be ambient banter while you're mounted?

I suppose hearing voices around you while you're party is virtually invisible can be rather strange, but there are times when I really do want to run around mounted (circling pointlessly unscaleable slopes, too-sprawling landscapes, or just 'cause), and it frustrates me that I can't, because I might miss some banter trigger or another.

However strange disembodied voices may be, it seems a poor decision in design to force players into such a completely arbitrary decision as exploring your terrain on foot simply for a better chance at experiencing one of the more enjoyable aspects of DA:I. If anything, it is especially when I have tired of running around and mounted up that I want banter to keep me engaged.

Now that it has been established that there is less than a 100% chance at triggering these events every 10-15 minutes, I must say, it is terribly disheartening to still have heard less than a third of inter-party banter after chalking up to 100-odd hours worth of gameplay that was spent almost always on foot.

It would be cool if your party members could ride horses. I use a mod for Skyrim that lets all my followers have their own horses. I wish there was such a thing in DAI. It's kind of weird having all your companions pop out of existence the minute you get on a horse. XD

As it's pictured above they're not kinda... popping out. More like popping in :D

After choosing the natural option of having party members dissapear in a puff of smoke as soon as the hero mounts, I suppose Bioware thought it would be *too weird* to have the recently vaporized then proceed to speak.

I mean, - makes perfect sense right.

Disembodied voices would've be a completely acceptable trade off for still getting to hear their amusing banter in my book :P

If there only was some super important quest for getting horses for the Inquisition so more people than my character could ride them... oh wait :D

Mounts are, by some margin, the single most pointless feature in DAI. I don't use them. Stopping party banter is just one downside - the other being having to dismount to do any gathering/looting. And unless you ride at a gallop the whole time they aren't even quicker than running.

Nicely animated mind you.
