Never posted on a forum before but just had to make some comments here.

I  foolishly pre-ordered DA1 as I fell for the hype and put to one side all the issues with DA2 and the ME3 ending as I just loved Origins, Kotor 1, Baldurs Gate 2. and ME1 and 2. Also played Neverwinter Nights and Kotor 2 which were ok. Loved Planescape Torment, Witcher games and played lots of Oblivion, Fallout games and Skyrim but Origins is my all time favourite game.

Angry? You bet. I am still on XBox 360 and I can barely read anything. I have given up waiting for a patch. Literally, read codex? no chance, requisitions? impossible, player level? can make a good guess crafting/modifying armour and stats? extremely difficult....and so on. Bioware should have made it clear this platform is too old to do justice to the game and I would not have wasted my money.

Perplexed? Yep. I thought an integral part of an RPG was to level up skills and attributes. I really thought I had missed something obvious as the game is so hard to read but, no, you don't do this on level up. Why not? I thought my inquisitor mage would be able to use all his spells, but no. Why not? Ridiculous. I was aware of no healing magic and can live with barrier and guard etc but my shared healing potions started at 5 and ended at 8 with the perk upgrade. Not seen anyone else with this glitch but I am not making it up.

The characters are ok and I am romancing Dorian but no-one comes close to  Alistair or Zev from Origins. The story is ok and I liked the end of Haven and finding Skyhold, even liked the song!

Bored? A little bit now. Have done about 50 hours and am just ready to do more of the main quest with the wardens. I ignore all fetch quests, shard collecting, mosaics and bottles because they are so tedious. I am sick of pressing the search function and trying to get around mountains to do a quest. Spent an hour trying to find a tome for Viv just to discover on Youtube it was at an elevated level. For god's sake. Don't mind closing rifts but I cannot ever see myself replaying as the thought of the Fallow Mire alone makes me feel ill. Needed the wisps for KE but my god, the repawning!! Horrible everywhere in the game. I could go on forever here.

I don't think other games in the past were perfect. In Origins the Fade section in the Circle Tower was poor and yes you did have some fetch quests but the whole game was so well integrated I never minded them. I'm not even complaining about the graphics because I know last gen consoles are going to be limited. my inquisitor looks ok. I also have only had the game freeze once. I expected slow loading times so live with it. The music is nice but party banter is limited.

Very very disappointed overall. Just won't ever pay for another Bioware game until the community gives it the thumbs up and not the games industry with all the nonsensical GOTY awrds. I don't think so!

Never mind. Can replay Origins for the ninth time and might even bite the bullet for XBox 1 for the Witcher.

Thats a long list of complaints, and you spent over 50 hours playing the game before you finally realized that its not working out for you?

I've played the game for over 100 hours and I have a list of complaints as long as....something really long. So what's your point exactly?

This is the kind of game we all want to like. We will try and play the hell of it searching for redeeming qualities. After that, it is even more obvious the shortcomings of the game - and they sure are much more frustrating and disappointing.

Also the game is huge and you keep expecting that some things will improve. His complains are actually more validated because he gave the game a fair chance.

Yeah, that's what I thought at least, so I kept trudging alone until I reached 100+ hours and realized that this was going nowhere and I burned out.

This type of post makes me thankful I choose to play on a PC; have not the skill to use a console, and at the increased rate of obsolescence, it also appears to be more time and cost effective. Not a master race kind of thing, but one that requires less aggravation and shopping.

Why not return it, why continue to play it for 4 days if you don't like it?

I don't get all you people with these flame threads.  Return it, get your money back and move on to something else.  What are you doing wasting time here bitching about it?

Lottie53 i feel as you do.

I'm about 50 hours in too, its just all very tedious and feels overly complicated for no reason to me, combat is painfully slow and unsatisfying for me, loot is atrocious and searching is... no words can explain, characters and character progressions feel hollow and lots left out, story is marred by huge areas that add very little but eye candy..

I know this is all negative but i hope it all either gets looked at (i know i wont hold my breath) or they fix it in whatever their next thing they make is..

You can return non physical versions of games?

No you cannot.

I play on 360 and have no trouble reading anything, not subtitles, codex, descriptions, nothing. Are you on an old TV? I ask because when I was stuck playing on an old SDTV I could hardly read any text in HD games.

Perplexed? Yep. I thought an integral part of an RPG was to level up skills and attributes. I really thought I had missed something obvious as the game is so hard to read but, no, you don't do this on level up. Why not? Yeah, BW has been removing streamlining the RPG elements from their games to attract the action crowd for a while now. No stat distribution, no radial menu, limit of 8 active abilities are among the design choices I don't particularly care for.

That potion thing is a weird one. I've had conversations glitches, enemy glitches, skill glitches, quest glitches but no potion glitches. Yet...

The characters are ok and I am romancing Dorian but no-one comes close to  Alistair or Zev from Origins. The story is ok and I liked the end of Haven and finding Skyhold, even liked the song!

Agreed. Some of the companions are great but some I just couldn't get interested in. For me it's the most mixed bag of any BW game I've played.

Bored? A little bit now. Have done about 50 hours and am just ready to do more of the main quest with the wardens. I ignore all fetch quests, shard collecting, mosaics and bottles because they are so tedious. I am sick of pressing the search function and trying to get around mountains to do a quest. There is a bug you may not be aware of. Basically the banter doesn't play like it's supposed to sometimes. Also, unfortunately, it's cut off when you're on a mount. But when it works the banter is quite good.

Very very disappointed overall. Just won't ever pay for another Bioware game until the community gives it the thumbs up and not the games industry with all the nonsensical GOTY awrds. I don't think so!

I'm a bit disappointed too, mainly in the amount of bugs I've had. I still think the game is decent but not up to what I expected from BW. I've been a fan since KOTOR and this is the first time I've felt disappointed in one of their games and just wanted to get it over with.

Never mind. Can replay Origins for the ninth time and might even bite the bullet for XBox 1 for the Witcher.

Replies in bold.

Return it, get your money back and move on to something else.

Not all stores take games back. The local Wal-mart where I buy most of my games won't take them if they've been opened. The best you might get is exchanging a defective game for another copy of the same thing.

Best advice I could give would be to trade it to Gamestop or something.

I am playing through to the end of the main story quest. Like the OP I am finding the gameplay hugely disappointing and boring. I need to be at Level 18 at least for 'What Pride Has Wrought', so that means grinding through closing fades, opening camps, running across the map with letters, oh dear god, finding 9 fragments of an emerald to open a door. Nine? Really?? 12 lyrium veins. 3 Venatori  for Dorian. 5 mages for Cassandra. How many items for Blackwall? Haven't been able to get the other companions quests.

Awesome companions, love their stories (Blackwall- terrific!) beautiful scenery, romancing Cullen and loving it : but I hate crafting, hate the tac cam, hate the button mashing, am having to play as an archer because there's no auto attack, am going to make a statue of a halla in RL and smash it into a thousand pieces.

Bioware wants to make action MMOs for consoles, lovely - go right ahead. But how about telling me that DA:I is one rather than leading me to think it is a SP RPG with tactics, like DA:O only better.

I had severe misgivings about the Frostbite engine - uh oh, this won't be good, swapping to a new engine; but all those reviewers failing to mention that I would need a game pad to play the game stooged me badly. So, here I am grimly going on to the end just like I did with ME3, to see the end of the story of these fantastic characters.

Don't like seeing whinging? Don't read the thread!

He's suggesting he doesn't enjoy the game, and chances are he enjoyed the prior games. He's making a feedback, get out of here with that if that's just a subtle way for being snide to his comment.

Feedback forums, this is what they are. People come to the forums with genuine feedback.

If they loved the game, that's on them. People who respond with "can't be real" are just as bad because they don't really address why they feel it's bad.

If they hated the game, challenge them on it by calling to a detail or stating what you disagree with on how 'poorly' something was done.

Returning a game ultimately speaks more volumes I will give you that. I just thought it's weird to see people come in and say "don't play it" without challenging or contributing.

i find people that argue on forums about opinions to be immature. the OP rightly posted here. i'm not going to argue with anyone about their opinion of the game.

again... i read the posts. i commented simply return the game. sell it or trade it if you are unhappy.

i'm not trying to tell anyone that the the game is perfect or flawed. i'm not trying to sway anyone in any direction.

That's fair -- I'm sorry if my posts are hostile. I see people in many threads come in and bash someones opinion, agree or disagree, or just go straight for an insult.

It's not productive to this forum.

Sorry about that.

Basically we're forbidden to 'sell a game'. Did you even read the Agreement on Origin?

For the DA console copies theres a limited time you can return it I think, and for Origin you qualify up to 24 hour return. I don't think a lot of people consider 24 hours a fair amount of time to judge a game however.
