Day 5

 

I decide it is time for a new job, unfortunately all the other jobs are taken so I am forced to create a vacancy, I decide that the mailman would be a suitable job as it allows me access to other inmates cells during work hours without raising too much suspicion from the guards. Liamv2 is currently working in the mailroom and while his stats make him too much of a powerhouse to take on in a straight up fight my only hope is to keep him distracted long enough so he misses his Job quota and gets fired.

 

Creating a flame bait thread I goad Liamv2 into a towering rage leading him on a merry chase through the prison system, at the end of the work period I may have been fired from my previous Janitor Job for failing to meet my work quota for the day but I do manage to make an opening in the mail room where I successfully apply.

 

E-ro is also selling a screwdriver and I manage to buy it while he is in the cell block and squirrel it away in my toilet (if you do this make sure you take it out of the toilet before going to sleep as you could lose it) in case the guards decide to check my desk for contraband.

 

 

 

Day 6

 

Today I start work as a mailman, due to a bug in the game I can't put the letter's on peoples desks like the job description says to do (early access) so I am forced to give everyone their letters by hand. By the time I have met my quota I only have one letter left belonging to Fast jimmy, because he is working in unloading and I can't get to him without a key I decide to flush his letter down the toilet and move on to looting peoples desks.

 

By the end of the day I have enough superglue to create a vent cover, grabbing a couple of plastic knives from the food hall I head back to my cell for the night, once the doors are locked I smear toothpaste on the camera lens and position my desk under the vent opening, using the screwdriver to open the vent I move a lot of items into the vent for storage and work on cutting open new areas in the ventilation system with my plastic knives.

 

Due to a glitch that causes you to skip a day if you go to bed after midnight the game jumps to day 8.

 

 

Day 8

 

Day 8 is just a continuation of Day 6 where I try to cut through slats in the ventilation shaft in order to access new areas. And because I save after midnight again the game jumps straight to day 10

I wonder if you are planning to walk out the front door or digging your way out.

 

Not sure yet, apparently this prison is surrounded by water and you need to build a raft to escape, that is once you get out of the prison block and past the walls. Any advice?

^Can't say much. But do try to explore the roofs first. Sometimes they lead to really nice places in the prison (like the staff room). Sometimes you can even escape via the roof, or at the very least hide your contraband there. You should prepare some covers though, like putting up blankets on the cell bars and making some fake vent covers.

The rest of it isn't very interesting, just hunting around for supplies and earning money to buy supplies and waiting RNG stocks the items I actually need, so I just skipped straight to the escape.

 

 

While the escapists does have it's problems it is a fairly unique game and the concept has a lot of potential, would love to see more games that develop and expand on the concepts shown in the escapists, also when the game is officially released it is supposed to come with a prison editor so I can't wait for that.

Day 1

 

9:00 Morning Roll Call

 

Already it would seem Bunz and Chewin are having a feud, Bunz suspects Chewin is spam reporting him to the moderators and is willing to pay $14 to have him knocked out, without a weapon or the muscle mass needed to do the job I politely decline.

Ah didn't think any was interested so I just skipped straight to the escape, you aren't missing much though, the prisoner's vocabularies are rather limited and they repeat a lot of lines and the missions mostly repeat. Most of it is tracking down the items you need and setting yourself up so you are ready for the escape, once you have scouted the prison and formulated a plan that is.

 

I will try to do more lets plays in the future though at the moment I am just finding my feet and seeing what works.
