Kitari instant 100% guard

I hear a lot of people saying they hate the Kitari class.  I actually find it to be pretty fun on threatening, but have not tried it on perilous. 

 

Here is a something I learned last night that might help this class earn some respect.

 

1) Throw En Garde on a target.  

2) Use Charging Bull on that target

3) Get instant 100% guard

 

Normal Charging Bull gives 10% guard and I usually save the En Garde for the boss fights, but I threw this on a spirit last night just for fun and got 100% instead.  Tested against a lot of stuff and works every time.  Very nice perk and can be used every 32 seconds.

Guard useless on Perilous. Positioning is not.

 

Pull, Charge, mighty blow, combat roll & run into cover, pommel strike, repeat.

1) Takes like 2 secconds.

2) Sometimes get blocked

3) 100 guard at perilous is like 1 second at perilous...

 

Just saying...trying solo perilous as katari now...and its hell, made to stage 3 at best.

2-3 hits on perilous will take down your guard so you'd still want to play your katari with a hit and run playstyle since guard won't protect you much. Key to Katari on perilous is to avoid taking any damage. I prefer charge to help build guard then follow-up with a mighty blow. After that I use Earthshaking Strike and War Horn as necessary for CC.

Yep, Guard is useless on Perilous. TTD is nice, but after running with a TTD build 4 times I see that Earthshattering Strike is a better choice. I'll try out the Combat Roll now and stick to it for some time.

Also, TTD is mostly nice for having the boss on your leash to increase damage for your ranged squadmates. As a survivability measure you're good to go without guard on Threatening.

Yep, Guard is useless on Perilous. TTD is nice, but after running with a TTD build 4 times I see that Earthshattering Strike is a better choice. I'll try out the Combat Roll now and stick to it for some time.

 

I love ESS. Make sure to CR directly after MB hits, to cancel out the second half of the MB animation. You'll be much more agile, avoid damage from ranged shots + melee swings, and be able to return with damage afterward.

Yup. Sad when the giant krogan is out-tanked by a space walrus volus.

with the exception of Krogan Warlord.  "Krogan Smash!!!  Grrhh ahahahahah!!!"  *headbutt*  damn, I loved destroying everything on gold with Biotic Hammer.

Beerfish was trolling, or maybe he was talking exclusively about the Warlord, who was getting instakilled way too often. Sentinel had tons of shields/health, Soldier was less tanky but still formidable, Kroguard was EZ mode and Shaman wasn't about short range anyway.

Krogans may have had problems in ME3MP but they were by far the most hilarious class to play.

 

It was always fun to have a game of 4 Krogan just yelling and headbutting everything in sight. :3

Oh, Pro-tip for ESS, it goes through walls, is a delayed stagger, and can HoK self-revive.  Use to your advantage before & during pulls, or after the charge --> CR into cover.

I don't need tips for ES, I think I ran it on most of my builds ;P After Pommel/Roll/MB/Charge I'll try MB/Charge/Roll/ES, since Pommel Strike can be frustrating with it's tendency to just move your character and not connect until 3rd/4th try.

I find guard pretty useless re Guard less  :D

 

lol, seriously.. It doesnt seem to amount to a wet paper bag.. 100% guard, 100% health, with 78 Armor, and 1 Arrow in Threatening leaves u below 50% hp..  Friggin archers are outrageous!

Katari kicks ass!  You must be doing something wrong... I thought so at first too, but.. Not anymore..l Seem to have better survivability than Reaver!

Pommel Strike can be frustrating with it's tendency to just move your character and not connect until 3rd/4th try.

 

PS is OK, but not fantastic. It is in my 'swing skill' slot that I mix up with others. I actually do like how it moves my character, and quite often CR afterward and begin the Ch->MB->CR cycle again. Sometimes I use it not just for the attack, but to dodge arrows / enemy attacks.

 

You get a feel for when enemies attack, and activate skills around that timing. Both CR & PS are useful for recovery in the dense gaps. Of course, it is much easier to PS after CR since CR helps position you into optimal attack zone.

Wait, are you serious? Krogan are beast lol. I destroyed Gold, Platinum with the Kroguard and Soldier.
