Clearly this thing is bigger than any other Fear Demon we have seen in Dragon Age Inquisition. It has been feeding on the fears from people who are scared of the blight so it's definitely "ancient". How do you guys think it ranks up with the other bad guys?

A bad guy left for another DA installment or for DLC? Thoughts anyone?

It is one of the forgotten ones, don't you know? Of the beings Solas locked away in the eternal city, therefore the place you are in when in the fade, maybe be the eternal or black city

Personally, I bet I totally could have taken that guy. Would have been more fun than Corypheus too.

Garbage....it was great initial concept wasted and poorly executed. If creatures from the fade are 1 dimensional then according to your own IP his depth would be severely limited

The nightmare is literally fear and terror incarnate, its pointedly the most powerful thing and ancient thing in the dragon age universe we seen yet and will likely see short of the maker returning. Its basically a demon king that can't be killed because how can you kill the very concept of fear, its been gorging on the fear of Thadas at least since the blight and its speculated in game that it might have existed and feeding on fear long before that, since the first very dreams were dreamed.

The idea of your inquisitor fighting and winning is laughable at best and that is a good thing every series needs something that you can't fight and must run away from.

Well atleast now we know the what power a "greater" demon of X is capable of. Luckily they reside deep in the Fade and take an enormous amount of time and prep to summon.

With that said, it's an ally to Cory and seems to feed off people's fear of the Blight, so at the very least it started getting it's boosts of power once they entered the Black City.

I wonder if it also had a role in the other magister's and Cory's amnesia?

its possible, that it has the abilities to steal memories has already been shown in game and from the lore it seems the dark-spawn magisters are all suffering from various degrees of memory lost.

Honestly. When I first played through it, I was a bit confused since the demon and Cory used the same VA.

At first I thought the fear Demon was the aspect of nightmare that you fight. That was a cool looking demon. But then I realized that the fear demon was the pregnant spider...

I think that I'm super pissed about not being given a chance to kill it.

So it's the monster from Stephen King's book IT?

I was always wondering what happened to that spider after the book was over. Now I know, it was found by Bioware, nursed back to health, and then given a home in DA:I.

And the funny thing is that they are actually the same monster. They operate the same way, both "feed" off of fear, both considering themselves the aspect of fear, both are giant pregnant alien spiders that the hero/oes/ines must conquer (you conquer "fear") to end their journey.
