MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

As per EA's financial release:

http://news.ea.com/p...nancial-results

Excerpt:

"Dragon Age: Inquisition captivated fans and critics worldwide and it quickly became the most successful launch in BioWare™ history in addition to being named to more than 200 “Game of the Year” lists. The single player campaign alone has been enjoyed for more than 113 million hours."

So much for being the sales flop some people were hoping for  :D

Congrats, BioWare!

How do they get the 113 million hour statistic. Do the servers track player play time?

Awesome and well earned. I can't wait for what is to come!

EDIT: that was a really chill response when I have in fact lost all chill. I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR BIOWARE! There was a lot of uneasiness and negativity, but I'm so glad that in the end this game is getting the recognition it deserves. I'm so excited for Bioware and what is to come, and I can only say keep it up, you did a great job at building yourselves back up after Dragon Age 2 and you can (should) only get better down the road.

PARTY TIME  :wizard:  :wizard:  :wizard:

Origin keeps track of the amount of hours you have the game on.

Origin tracks my total playtime if I don't have it offline. So it's not accurate. Maybe consoles that are online have a similar coun. But this is probably under counting.

Yeah, in every BioWare game since Dragon Age: Origins they have had the game send back anonymous data statistics to BioWare for tracking, so its probably the same way they get the information about how many dragons have been killed or the gender of the Inquisitor.  Considering there are people that have Origin in offline mode or turn off that feature (haven't looked to see if its possible in Inquisition) it could be under reported.

sure it has won a lot of goty and the amount of hours aren't shocking but did it do well financial? You know, the thing EA cares most about.

Maybe now Dragon Age will get the attention it deserves instead of Mass Effect.

I don't sound bitter, do I?

How's EA stock? That's a barometer for it's general health and whether or not its blustering.

Cool. Hopefully it will mean some rich DLC or even an expansion.

I think they already said no to an expansion.  My guess is by the time an expansion is ready to release the majority of the people that would buy it are done with the game, but with DLC they can offset the cost over multiple packages not risk as much of a loss.

Gone down slightly but they pretty much gained it back.  You can check it on google Still EA should stop their stupid idea of the xbox one timed exclusive/exclusive nonsense across their games all it does is hurt them.

EA Stock

Activision Stock

Ubisoft Stock

The stock prices dipped a little bit after the announcement, but with after hour trading it has gone back to near year highs.

EAs stock since Oct. seems to be quite on the upswing. Did they have any major releases beside DAI in that time?

DA4 will feature the same concept then. A beautiful world to explore with meaningless content.

I imagine that since the side quests have been one of the consistent criticisms, it will be something they look at changing in DA4.

EA's been killing it lately.

Release only guaranteed big movers and cut flops like Mirror's Edge and Crysis.

Lace everything with microtransactions.

Churn out tons of mobile garbage with huge margins.

Not too long ago their market cap exceeded Activision's, looks like it is paying off for them.

They better. The scenary and design is phenomenal. What's inside those phenomenal crafted areas is average at best and almost borderline poor.

Congrats, BioWare!

Considering the ambitions for this game it is a sale flop.
Being the best of Bioware isn't that much, really, Final Fantasies and Dragon Quests beat Bioware's best in launch week in Japan...

Also considering 4 consoles + PC, and all the marketing and... well... really not a success.

But yeah, godlike for Bioware, whoohoo... it is obvious that they were aiming at sales, since game have nothing good it was obviously made for achieving high sales, no surprise there, they sacrificed the amazing kind of game they used to make in order to sell, nothing worthy of discussing really, just the obvious

But again, IMO too much sacrificing of good things for a ridiculously small amount of extra sales. Compare Origins and Inquisition... I'm not even sure Inqui is going to make that much more money (multiplayer aside of course)

It launched well because the Franchise had a solid PC base from the first games.  It was sold as a "PC game for PC players"  So we bought the game.  Had they mentioned all the changes from the original games or that it was a Console port and been HONEST, they would not have sold as many.

It will be like ME1. Bioware had huge issues with UE which impacted the eventual release. ME2 had better side quests. I expect a jump like BG1 to BG2.
