Did anyone cry at the end? (or nearly cry?)

Without going into specific spoilers, I went through the whole end game scene with my party members and it started to feel emotional. Then when the tavern music kicked on in the credits I felt like breaking down. I know i'm so pathetic lol

I would also occassionally shout in my living room "I am the herald of andraste!!!"  or "We are the inquisition!!!".  I wonder if anyone else got into it like that :)

Well... Not really, to be honest. It was sweet (I got a very cute romance ending), and a really good WTF moment after the credit rolls up & that "secret ending scene" play. I was mostly shouting "I WANT A DLC NOW!!!"

Compared to DA:O's Ultimate Sacrifice Ending, well this one's soft. Want to cry at the ending in DA:O? If you play a female character, romance Alistair & make him king. Leave him at Denerim gate & don't do Morrigan's ritual. He'll give the best eulogy at your funeral that will tear your heart. You can see how it sadden him to loose his one true love. Or let him sacrifice himself at the top of Fort Drakon & you can get that last kiss that'll make you weep.

Not really. The DAO ending was the only one that made me anything. When I beat DAO, I got a sense of accomplishment that was indescribable. When I beat DA2 and Inquisition, my reaction was essentially meh.

I was...miffed. Maybe not quite as much on my first run where it felt rather...generic, but my second one...

Everyone-elsemancers be like 'Awww snuggly warm fuzzy ending d'awww' and Solasmancers be like:

"Well...sh*t."

I will forever associate this tune with that one last line before he leaves. Rough stuff.

To be fair. A romanced Cassandra becoming Divine was rather bittersweet too when it came to the final balcony scene.

Not really, but I went through the epilogue part with my companions with a huge grin on my face. I loved everyone's comments and since it took me 250 hours to finish the game (yeah, really), it felt like a journey had come to an end brought back similar feelings when I finished Origins.

One criticism I had of DA2 was that the ending felt abrupt and I didn't get to say goodbye to my companions. Now, some of them will stay in the Inquisition with you, some inevitably leave or plan to leave, but you share some heartfelt moments with them. It was emotional in not a feeling-like-crying sense, to me. :)

Or let him sacrifice himself at the top of Fort Drakon & you can get that last kiss that'll make you weep.

Oh no don't remind me that... Why did you have to remind me of that -.- I tried it once to see how it will go, and it broke me to see him not even give you a choice to kill the Archdemon yourself and when you tell him this is crazy, he tells this is the most sensible thing he's done in his life. T.T

Tell me about it. A lotta cognitive dissonance with the Cassandra romance.

Good thing she isn't divine in my games. Divine Leliana FTW! I already got enough heartbreak with Morrigan.

Oh, how was it? You get the balcony scene or not in this case? What did she say?

I can't remember the exact dialog, but she more or less states that she will break up with you once she becomes the divine. You still get the balcony scene where she embraces you, wanting to enjoy what little time there is left between her and the inquisitor.

DAI while good lacked so much of the emotional kick both DAO and DA2 had IMO. I found DAI quite sterile emotionally for the most part.

It's rare that I actually cry, unfortunately, so no. ME3 and DAO are the only ones I can think off the top of my head that I did, actually, and I love games that I can get emotionally invested in (TLoU didn't get me crying either). Kudos to Bioware, I suppose ^_^

While I get why other didn't like DA2's ending, I was more emotional over that than DAI simply because I was so much more attached to the characters and they all part ways (with Hawke basically being run out of the city in my playthrough. I'd like to imagine she and Isabela and a couple of the others sailed off into the sunset for a bit before actually splitting off, however). Also, the music for both of those endings... <3

I was actually rather disappointed in this end, though; it felt a bit anticlimactic since I stopped between the Final Piece and Doom Upon All the World to do all the extra stuff (shards, dragons, etc.) and it was just...the final boss. The end. Everyone's fine, no sacrifices made, really. They played it safe and after ME3, I can't really blame them but...meh. The bit after the credits got me looking forward to more, though.

All that said, the Dawn Will Come and Journey to Skyhold was quite emotional and I absolutely loved the Wicked Grace scene (which happened to have I Am the One as the music track...can you tell I'm a sucker for music?).

Aww... That one's sad... :(

Finally I don't know whether Cass Divine is more sad than Solas...? Both are sad but in different ways... Cass-Divine knows that she'll have to leave the quizzy forever, they can't continue as lover but they'll surely be able to see one another again. Solas, (except meta-gaming), the quizzy doesn't know his true nature... so it was like he left her & basta.

I always stay with Cullen so... always sweet ending for me. Except if in headcanons it might not go so well with my mage Lavellan. Theoretically she'll have to go back to her Clan to assume responsability as First (and one day Keeper). But still, Merrill was a First & she did leave...

I romanced Cassandra because she was a strong woman and carried my team early on. I would rathered romance Sera though she was just a lot of fun, but bisexual unfortunately.  Anyway Cassandra and I spend time on the balcony before I become "a very busy man", and Leliana becomes the divine, despite my protest early on.

Out of the series I felt the most invested in my relationship with Isabella in DA2. She really played hard to get, and that drew me in. Something else about her kinda drew me in also ;)

I cried for almost 2 hours after finishing my first playthrough, but only because of Solas.

I always tear up at the end of long tales, be it books, film or whatever. It's the parting of the company you've gotten to know I think, but also heightened by any dramatic scenes. I'm really thankful for Sera at the end though, she made it so much easier in that final romance scene. :) I think it is bittersweet but all things must end.

I wasn't quite as emotionally invested other than the romance& exploration though. I really love the game, but the Inquisition thing just isn't me. So all that, I never got into a whole lot - perhaps that is why I enjoyed playing a qunari who basically just smiled ironically to herself at all the people apparently looking to her, and then just doing things her way. But as always, Bioware manages to make me form attachments to the group members; as always they make the whole game for me. In DAO, I never really liked the story either, as the main arc is very generic to my eyes and a bit over-obvious, but who cares when I had so much fun with my dalish warden meeting those wacky faces, and the multitudes of great writing beyond that main arc that I loved, enhanced by them.

But without rambling further, there were definitely a few blinkings of eyelids.

I'm upset there's no story dlc or that we won't get answers for another 2 years most likely.

I did because I was so happy. It healed the hole ME3 left in my heart.

Er, maybe in the sense that yawning makes me sqeeze my eyes very hard and thus leaves me teary.

That's the closest I'll get to crying at the end of DA:I.
