Did anyone cry at the end? (or nearly cry?)

DA:O - I cried inside when Alistair decided he wasn't going to let me take the killing blow ("as if you have a choice" he says) - leaving my warden alone and heart broken. I would have been sobbing like a child, but my husband was sitting next to me and... well... I didn't want him to see how attached I had become (and still am) to Alistair.

DA:2 - Lot's of shouting and swearing, eyes wrapped in salty tears... GOD DARN IT ANDERS, I LOVE YOU!!! NOW I HAVE TO KILL YOU?!?!? It was a good thing hubby was at work that day. Such drama.

DA:I - Meh. I've played through several times, with different LI's - no tears, no sobbing, no gut wrenching. Solas was a bit of a WTF HAVE YOU DONE YOU JERK?!? Still, not as affecting as DA:O or DA:2 for me.

Apparently Cass!Divine is very bittersweet. Haven't play it myself, only Youtube videos. But it's bittersweet alright. Guess that if I played the romance myself I might shed a single tear. Technically Solas' even less bittersweet since without meta-gaming the only thing the quizzy knows is that he left. With Cass it's worse, you know you're going to see her from time to time, but she'll be completely beyond your reach now. And that she still loves the inquisitor. That hurts.

Anyway I really hope for a good story DLC for an ending this game merits.

Perhaps it's time to re-visit my forgotten male warrior quizzy.

I'm totally with you on the DLC hopes.

No not really. Itd be way too harsh to say the game left me underwhelmed, but its fair to say i didnt actually feel like too much was resolved. I dont know if thats intentional or not. Towards the end of the game it actually felt like mostly just set up for future DLC.

Yeah Corypheus was dealt with but that climax was so underwhelming i didnt much care. The things i did care about were left hanging.

So no not emotional at all. No joy or anger. Just kind of "right, whats next then?" Which isnt a bad way to end. They say always leave them wanting more, but thats only a good thing if youre going to provide more in my view.

It could have been angsty with the whole Divine Cassandra angle if it had happened but it didnt it for my playthroughs. Instead it was just that "i want to steal a moment because you will be so busy" angle.

Really needed a Ryan Gosling "Hey gurl, aint no thedas nobility ass wipery gon get between our thang" dialogue option to spruce it up a bit.

Basically... The attack of Haven is much more epic than the ending <_<

Even the happily-ever-after ending in Origins makes me cry because I don't want the story to end.  And when Alistair does the Ultimate Sacrifice, I got totally pissed because no one gave HIM a funeral. In that play through HE  was the real hero of Ferelden and Bioware just let him rot, I guess.

Inquisition doesn't give me that same feeling, and DA:ll leaves me with a what the heck feeling.

I agree, the singing on the mountain afterwards was awesome (although part of that was a bit of fangirling at Cullen singing XD)

You don't say...I feel like BioWare really drops the ball on the final fight, and the ending. That doesn't mean the ending sucks it just could have been better.

For me it was all the way at the end, last song of the end credits. They play the tavern song "Rise", which I think is beautiful and very fitting and made me realize it's really over. I got a bit teary eyed.

Not at the end, but there's one moment that did get me pretty damn close to eyeball sweat.

"He will be better off without me. Just like I, was better off without you."

*Flemeth actually seeming hurt*

That whole scene. Jesus.

No

Not even a little

Then again I rarely become emotional over games, the only game which made me cry in recent years was my first DA:O playthrough

ME3 made me feel broken and tired, DA2 left me pissed off and annoyed, ME1 and ME2 almost did it but not really and DA:I... meh, not even a little. I just was like "Finally! No more ****** fetch quests for me"

I don't usually outright cry at the end of a video game, however that last balcony scene after romancing Solas gave me some really sad feels. Still, no crying. That post-credits scene, though? That actually did make me tear up a bit. Combination of sadness, worry, and frustration at not knowing what the hell was going on.

The romance scene is cute, but the ending was a let-down. Cory was a cake-walk and (I'm not sure if my platform is to blame, but) the party seemed a tad hollow.

Don't you mean wearing your pajamas to walk THROUGH the party, like a kid being sent to bed? LOL

I meant your walk in the courtyard where everyone is cheering etc.

But thanks for making it so much worse. Now I'm gonna cry my way to sleep.

The only game in recent memory that came close to such a reaction was the "walking dead"-game, first season finale. But I guess that goes to the fact (besides good writing) that there wasn´t much in the way of distraction in the point & click style gameplay that took away from the story. In that way it was an almost movie or tv-series like experience. And I guess it´s easier to care for me about characters the less abstract gamplay-rules and numbers enter the equation. Or at least in a way that hits the feel spot.
