I’m getting addicted   to DAO the more & more I play this game – as I uncover new things (hidden & open).  3^rd play now.   I’m also stopping to “smell the roses” and pausing to appreciate the splendid graphics, music, and inner personal relationships between the characters.   Third, the DAO forum is a refreshing pleasure to read    compared to the hostile Mass Effect forums where 95% of the time, it is copy-paste-dissect-nitpick (no, you are NOT entitled to your opinion there). 

 

On that point, I suggested to Bioware a check-box feature for each thread to show only original posts which would allow us readers to quickly examine those original posts of a thread with 2,000 posts (likely 50 originals)  -- rather than "in our face" having to read about someone who hates someone who hates someone who hates someone because of their opinion.  

 

Alternatively, upon further interest in that thread, the reader could UN-check the box to see ALL the responses.   Removing nothing, it gave us another read option.  Obviously that idea was met with hostility (and currently on my ignore list – now totaling 6 juveniles).   I like a good discussion & appreciate thoughts of others different than my own, but I draw the line between spin & slander.   In regard to the question --

 

Many games allow us to save the attributes & items accumulated in the previous playthrough.  As you know, the efforts to superbly equip your squad (& self) can take 25-33% of the time to playout the entire game story.   For example, in Mass Effect-1, I can carry-over again & again, until my crew & I are 100% maxed out – and thus focus 100% on the game – without having to open a single stash box.  Some exceptions (like finding a key).   In DAO, it becomes even MORE of a time-consuming hassle when you carefully construct the TACTICS for all your squad.  Yes, I’m aware that certain items are attained if certain “quests” are complete – however many of those are OPTIONAL. 

 

When I started a subsequent DAO game (if I recall), it said “do you want to carry-over from a previous game?”.   I did --- but then it starting asking me to reconstruct attributes, face, etc so I cancelled.    Looked to me like it was NOT carrying over anything.   Did I miss it?

From one Origins game to another, generally no.
Some gear from DLC, once you unlock will appear in you inventory at the start of subsequent games, but that usually requires higher stats to equip than any starting player could have.

The achievements carry over, but aside from some DLC equipment, that's it. Once you've unlocked Arcane Warrior, it stays unlocked.
