I didn't mind driving around in the Mako, just the quantity of it. Well, I say that, I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't ask for more of it. I guess a good balance would be some of that, but leading to a proper mission every time. No planets that are literally bare except for Matriarch writings and the like.

Depends how fun the Mako is to drive. Firewalker didn't do it for me because the vehicle was't that fun to use imo.

The mako was basically optional during ME1 except for the minimal driving sections through certain story missions.

When I'm out exploring the cosmos, I don't need it to lead to a mission everytime I land on a planet to explore. I'm not trying to be herded like cattle when I have an awesome vehicle to go wandering around and exploring in. If people don't like exploring in the Mako, then they don't have to do it. Just like in the past.

That's true. I'm a bit of a completionist so I did every planet and got every artefact, but it's not like I had to. Same with planet scanning, which I always kind of liked. I guess I was thinking along the lines of ME3's N7 missions, but then it also had planet scanning.

Yeah, you're right actually. I've liked the exploration in all of the games, I suppose all I need is a bit of tweaking on the driving system. Saying that I never had a problem with ME1's Mako, just some of that terrain was ridiculous.

Yeah they definitely need to differentiate the terrain and ecosystems of the planets.

I don't necessarily need every single planet to have people to shoot on it though. Space can be desolate. There should still be planets that have that type of atmosphere.

The above post made me think - what I would enjoy would be taking your crew on "holiday" type trips. You're not on a mission but simply explore a place, reminisce about the past, discover odd wildlife and landscapes. Something that doesn't advance the story but adds more to your relations with squadmates and reveals their character/history.

That would have been especially cool with Javik, going on planets Protheans used to live on and find out more about them. I hope that suspected "Prothean" from the concept art does turn out to be one!

I loved how one of the most effective methods of defeating some of the enemies was just crashing into them. Also that nearly vertical cliff climbing...
