Accuracy mods do nothing.
The extra shots mod for Shotguns and Sniper rifles do nothing; squadmates have infinite ammo already.
The extended clip mods for all the other weapons DO let squadmates fire longer before having to reload. They're very useful with the Prothean Particle Rifle and will make squadmates shoot longer bursts for other automatic weapons like SMGs. They're not quite so useful for burst-fire weapons like the Vindicator assault rifle or the N7 Valkyrie.
Piercing mods work, but not on weapons that shoot grenade-like things. Don't use it on the grenade launching assault rifle or the Acolyte pistol or the Scorpion pistol or the Krogan shotgun.
For squad mates that use Pistols or SMGs, using a power amplifier mod is quite useful. (Citadel DLC required)

After buying the level 1 mod at the store, the level 2 mod can be found at the Spectre Requisitions terminal in the Embassies. Levels 3-5 can be obtained playing through the Citadel DLC, including the Armax Arena, plus the claw game in Castle Arcade.

You can get 4 mods from the claw game, one from Relay Defense (urgh!) and one from Shattered Eezo

You still need to own the DLC to have any of the mods available, just like you need to own the Leviathan DLC to have SMG high velocity barrels or stability mods avaiable (some of which can be bought at Presdium stores without doing the DLC missions).
