OP, you are a whinger/conspiracy theorist. ![]()
Actually, I was thinking about getting Skyrim for the console, since it was released for the xbox360, I take it I shouldn't?
Get it for PC, that way you can use mods. The core game with its DLCs is enjoyable but it needs mods to truly shine.

I've never really used mods, and I don't much like them, so that's not really an incentive for me. ![]()

Prior to Skyrim I felt the same. Then I got mods that improved the graphics for the landscape, added a summonable horse, gave the left over dragon souls a purpose, made the banter from the guards tolerable... yeah, it's more fun now. ^^
Btw... I just started Origin up to download the bard songs and not only did Origin patch itself, it also patched DA:I. Did I miss patch 4 somehow?

Oh poor man! Now I feel bad for distracting you lol! It's the patch of the patch?

I don't know what it is... but I can't see the bard songs anywhere. Are they supposed to be a DLC? Or did they just announce a feature that isn't implemented yet?

They said it's a DLC limited time for the next week or so only. But I would have thought you could choose. Ah, well, if it broke your game you know it's not the songs ![]()
It's a free dowload. I think there's something about it over in the Twitter thread.
You mean like the twitter thread I posted in my OP like? ![]()

Personally, these bard songs are of no interest to me.
As the original argument states, there are better/more important things.....
@DaemionMoadrin, You have to download the songs from their website. And yes, there was a 90 MB stealth hot-fix. I don't know what it was for, but my crafted shields once again show the correct armor values
Would have been nice to see the patch notes somewhere tho. But it for sure didn't fix the horrendoues loading times patch 3 introduced for some people. 1 min 57 sec from Skyhold to Emprise du Lion is not cool.
@OP, while your last rant was hilarious, kudos for that
releasing the songs still does not mean they don't know about or are not fixing the problems or are postponing them because of the songs ![]()
And trust us, that mods for Skyrim can turn your mediocre buggy game into something absolutely amazing and one of the best gaming experiences ever. Tons of immersion mods, unofficial patches, texture modes, etc. And if you have a powerful PC, you can use the project ENB, which injects into the game engine things that it is not normaly capable of.

Its interesting that the Honorable Bigot is indeed the only honorable bigot on the thread

That's because I'm the honourable bigot ![]()

I downloaded the songs from the website... since they called it DLC I assumed they'd make it available through Origin, like the rest of the soundtrack.
10 MP3 files, 10 pdf files with the score. That's actually thoughtful of them.
Now I'm even more curious about the patch for DA:I...

I guess I'm just not invested enough in Skyrim to sort through mods looking for stuff to improve it.
Yeah it is kinda tedius to look for the perfect mods amongst the 30k or how many of them are there on Nexus
But there is something like a comprehensive guide for the very best immersion mods and you can go just by that (Skyrim GEMS it is called).

No, that would be an incorrect approach which would leave you with a bloated mess of a game.
Instead, what I did was to start the game in it's vanilla state, notice the things that bother me, then go find a mod that addresses the issue.
And all mods are neatly organised on the Skyrim Nexus site with a mod install program and everything! It's really quite impressive...
Come check how the graphics are on my console and then tell me it wasn't dumped down. Apart from the fact that they blatantly said so, to begin with. On twitter ofc, not here.
Well, of course the visuals were scaled down. But I was referring to the development of the game. It wasn't made with compatibility and stability of the old gen systems in mind (or, more charitably, at the forefront). It was made to take advantage of current gen systems and decent PCs. Which is why, when it runs on those systems (can't speak to the issues some people are seeing), it generally runs a treat. It runs better on my system than Skyrim, which was due to it's development for less powerful consoles was hobbled by the inherent memory limits of a 32bit program. Out of the box, with a few nice textures added, Skyrim hits the memory limit and is a crash fest. There are a number of simple fixes for that now, but it took a couple of years for people to get a handle on them.

This is a bit of an oversimplification. In my case, "manage my mods and find what's broken" is almost another game in and of itself.
Modding the game extensively is actually quite a bit of work. Very rewarding, though, if you care to do it.

An over-simplification? Not really.
I have taken both approaches: Looking for interesting mods and ending up with over 200 mods in my game.
Then going back to vanilla and only getting the mods that are necessary to give me the gaming experience I want.
So I'm no stranger to modding games, especially Skyrim....bla bla bla....what does it matter anyway.
