I'm pretty sure only Varric can use it. Someone may have found a way to work around that restriction, but I am unaware of one.

Dwarf melee rogues are rather badass though.
Also some people I know told me that after Varric's questline, they felt so bad for him that they "forced" Varric to unequip his crossbow. Since he can't use bows, daggers it is ![]()

You may ask, is that a shield?
Yes. Yes that's a shield. Or a harmful silverite growth sticking out of Varric's back.
Turns out if you craft a shield with silverite you can give it to rogues. Why? For hilarity. And that look on your face. Yes that one.

I've always wanted to dual wield shields.

Could I do that with a 2H great sword on a mage? Now I must experiment!

I thought that was restricted to armor and that this was a bug ![]()

I'm pretty sure it should be limited that way. I'm just going to have to farm some silverite and see.

I had him use daggers in my first playthrough. He was pretty good at it too. Sera is the only archer I ever use.

I bet you can mod Bianca. There is already a mod deleting the class restrictions.

I always feel like Bianca is a slightly underwhelming weapon when you get pas a certain point in the game, but I've never actually been able to bring myself to equip Varric with daggers. It just seems wrong.

I find a melee rogue inferior to an archer on essentially every level unless you baby sit the class in real time. Which can be fun don't get me wrong but I prefer to babysit my PC.

I wouldn't know. The only time I've had a melee rogue in my party was when it was my character. What I meant was if I'm going to have an archer in my group, I'm going to choose Sera because it's easier to keep her equipped with competitive weapons.
Unless I'm just uninformed. Is there a way to make Bianca do better damage aside from crafting better arms for it?

Just crafting, and sticking a Master rune on her boosts her damage quite a bit

Sorry to nudge this thread off topic once again, but do abilities take into account the added damage from runes? If they do, I'll feel better about bring Varric along more often.

i dont think so that would be absurd (%400 damage on runes)

The DPS on Bianca is balls, but if the per-hit damage is higher than his abilities would be stronger.
In general though, Bianca is disappointing DPS-wise. I suppose that's why you use his Focus abilitiy instead to break dragon fights.
