Just wondering how this community reflects the userbase in general, since 26% of people overall who play the game romance.

I hope as many as possible will vote (it's just yes or no) in order to see how we compare to the "real world" ![]()

Did they release romance metrics for DA: I? I missed it. Got a link to it?
I voted but I think results will be skewed as members that regularly come here are hardcore fans who will try romances at least once if not more.

It's for PS only, but at least it has the benefit for being the largest platform for DA:I
(it's the "Beloved and Precious" achievement, currently at 26.28%)

Yes, it will definitely be skewed, compared to the regular population - question is how skewed are we?

I think you can be a hardcore fan without being romance obsessed. DAO (Alistair/Morrigan) and ME2/3 (Jack) are the only times I cared about romances in Bioware games. In all the others I didn't care much for the romance options so I didn't bother (just watched them on YouTube for context), but I still played the games multiple times (other than DAI) to try the various story paths.
I romanced Cassandra, on my second play through I think I'll try Josephine.
I did, but I don't anymore. So would that be a yes or a no?
I dont think ive ever played a bioware game where I havent romanced someone...

Thanks for sharing that link. It puts the results in perspective.
You need to keep in mind that the romances require game progression in order to happen. None of them begin in earnest until after the Inquisitor arrives in Skyhold. So let's see how many PS players reach Skyhold. The achievement associated with that is "In your Heart Shall Burn," and the associated stat is 54%. That makes the statistic 48.5% (26.28/54.15). Of the players who are still playing at Skyhold, 48.5% have romanced someone. Some of the romances require the completion of Here Lies the Abyss or Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. Both of those are around 34%, so now we're talking 75.5%. Only 25% of PS players complete What Pride Has Wrought, so more people do romances than reach the Arbor Wilds. Only 22% finish the game.
The point I'm making is that the low number of players who complete a romance isn't a question of lack of interest so much as attrition. Players just stop playing before they reach the end, or they just aren't there yet. It has only been two months.
I did, but I don't anymore. So would that be a yes or a no?
The question is: Did you romance anyone in DAI?
You said "I did," which means 'yes'.
I'd think that the majority of people playing DA:I on console would not, since most people who would play such a game that can be played on PC, would play one playthrough, and maybe another if issues they had were fixed. Those console peasants can hardly comprehend the meaning behind games that require thought over combat. They play and think of such a game more as a hack-and-slash game, than a roleplaying game.
That said, I love PlayStation, and have since the 90s. Million times better than Xbox will ever be.
Dorian and Cass don't go for girls, so no.
No... They are all not what i'd consider Romance material.
Maybe Sera but shes Batshit Crazy
Bit like my old neighbor she was called Sera too oddly.. She even looked like Sera in the game..
Yes. Cassandra in my first playthrough with my male human. Josie in my second with my female elf.
I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't take advantage of the opprotunity. I've done romances in all three DA and both ME games Ive played. Of course, looking at those stats, I can't understand why someone would buy a game and not play it all the way through either.
Romanced and still romancing Sera ![]()
Nope. I'm not ready for a relationship right now in real life or in game... ![]()
Saving the world is more important!!! ![]()
But I did try it, just to see Cass (. )( .)

First playthrough of a BioWare game I don't do a romance (DAO being the only exception for....reasons). After that I gotta give them all a try at least once.
I will say that this is my first Bioware game without a clear favorite/preference romance, though. DA:O - Leliana, DA2 - Isabella, ME2 - Tali, ME3 Tali or Liara. Josaphine is the closest, but still not a strong pull to me.
The forum population is a statistical outlier in many areas - I suspect you'd see a similar skew away from normal player behaviour on questions like 'have you ever played a non-human character?' or 'have you ever played a rogue?' or 'did you complete the game?'
We know some stats for DAO: 80% of people played human, and the completion rate was 36%. Entertainingly enough, more people romanced Leliana than played as a rogue. (And yet, I can't recall ever seeing anyone suggest that they take out rogues because they're relatively unpopular ...)
Please keep in mind that this is the non-spoiler section of the forum!
