I don't even start a new Inquisitor without planning a romance for her/him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.  It's very annoying when I do it though because it always leads me to spending forever trying to come up with the right party composition.  Things would be easier if I didn't have wacky self-imposed limitations on romances though.

I must admit knowing who my character is going to romance help. Since the LI is the only party member that will stay always in the party, I usually choose the LI basing myself on their class.

Same. I always plan my playthroughs around who I plan for that character to romance. However, my first playthrough of Inquisition, I went in with the intention of having my elf romance Cullen, but she wound up with Solas. LOL. So 2nd elf went to Cullen. Next lady elf went back to Solas. First male elf is going for Cassandra. Second one is going to Josephine. My human male is going to romance Dorian (probably), and if I still feel like it after all that, I may make a lady dwarf for Blackwall and qunari ladies for Bull and Sera. I find all the romance options really add to the replayability for me, and all the ones that I've completed I felt gave nice insights into the characters. I also love the character quests and feel the romance subplots add a great deal to that. I don't think I could go through a Bioware game and not do a romance honestly unless I just didn't like any of the characters.

It's for PS only, but at least it has the benefit for being the largest platform for DA:I

(it's the "Beloved and Precious" achievement, currently at 26.28%)

If you look closely it seems apparent that advancing far enough into the game to actually complete a romance is the more likely culprit... Only 23% finished Doom Upon All The World (or whatever it's called lol).

I wanted to do Cullen for my first playthrough but ended up screwing it up so went with Iron Bull in the end. Going to try again with Cullen for my next run
