I think this falls into the "semantically correct but not constructive" category mentioned earlier.  No one took that post to mean, in context, that they'd never posted anywhere else ever.  And I think you know that.

I was responding to an extreme point made with simplified arguments, so there really wasn't any option available to me that wasn't going to be turned into "that doesn't count because it doesn't agree with me."

You are essentially doing no more than pointing out that no matter what evidence I brought to the table, it wasn't going to be enough to satisfy someone upset that the developers were responding in the multiplayer forum.

And I think you know that.

Just close this thread... It's become nothing more than bitching and moaning about anything and everything that anyone can find a reason to complain about... Is it justified? Perhaps to some extent.. But come on people... It's only a video game. The petty back and forth arguments about whatever some other person said that you don't agree with are pretty ridiculous and then it just escalates and now it's to the point where it's the only reason people even post on this thread anymore...
Just shut it down... We get the point by now

Have you actually read the thread?

It has mostly been very civil discussion.

You are totally welcome to give us feedback and to talk to us about what you'd like to see more/less/changed/tweaked/what have you. Your feedback is an invaluable resource to the dev team.

I'm happy about this sudden outreach from the dev team. I will be more than happy to suggest some things

  • Ability to choose enemy faction in lobby

If we can pick the map and difficulty, why not the enemies? Maybe we feel like facing one, or avoid another. More power to the player, and such. Also, I think it allow us to itemize gear, if only just a little. I have a Spirit Resistance Belt that would be great to use for a Demon run, but its not worth it over a Range Defense Belt when 2/3 of the enemy factions have archers.

  • Remove friendly player collision

This is just plain annoying. Its silly when the entire team is running forward together and 1-2 of them seem to slingshot slightly sideways or backwards because of this. I find myself letting people pass me to avoid this awkward mechanic. Hmph, making me be polite ... . If it cant be removed, please implement an action button to push/shove an ally out of the way  :P

  • Add more inventory room..

I personally like to horde collect items. Uniques, Ring(s) of <Insert Skill Name Here>, weapons with funny names/effects. I have reached a point of being unable loot more than 1 chest before needing to salvage to be able to buy another. If new items/armors/etc is in the works of being added, I don't think I'll have enough room to add to the collection  :o

  • Add more armors

I'm sure there is content planned to include more, I guess I just want to give voice to this and hopefully expedite the process . I like to customize my character, do my best to look unique and diverse. Kind of hard most of the times with only 2 other armor sets (not counting basic armor set).

  • Allow player gear//skill tree inspection

Plenty of reasons to implement this. You can:

  1. See the stats and effects of a yet not owned item
  2. Compare/discuss class builds more effectively
  3. Tell that warrior to NOT use that Berserk weapon
  4. Show off your gear more
  5. Judge your fellow player  B)
  • Add Ice Wall

Ice Wall is cool! Gib!

  • Dragon Boss Fight

I have no way to know, but I'm almost sure this is going to be a thing at some point. In case it isn't, please consider. Would make for an interesting end to a run, also give Elemental Resist Belts a reason to be used. I find the Dragon fights in SP to be one of the best things in the game. Being able to do it in MP would just be great  :D

Just my 2¢. I already find the MP very fun (much more than I anticipated, haven't finished SP yet), and I'm hoping player feedback/suggestions can make for some cool additions that make it all the better.

I have no idea what in the world you're talking about.  Your "evidence" was that there were a bunch of Bioware tags in a screenshots.  The facts are, those posts haven't been updated in two months.  It's not a matter of opinion, and I have no idea what you're on about, why you thought that screenshot was in any way constructive or useful, or why you think it aids you in some way to admit you had no interest in addressing the first poster's concerns since "it wasn't going to be enough."  So, you decided to troll him yourself?

Still not sure what point you think you're making, or what your goal here is.  The original point stands - no communication in months - and I think it's a valid one.  Do you disagree?  If so, please say so.

I don't have some hidden goal or agenda. Someone claimed that the devs had not communicated outside the MP forums, and that communicating in the MP forums was evidence of some disrespect towards players of the SP campaign. You appear to agree, as your posts would indicate.

However, they have communicated regarding SP issues. Have they communicated enough? Perhaps not, but that wasn't the hyperbolic point being made that I responded to, and that you are now echoing.

I have always felt that the SP portion of the game should receive greater focus and attention. And it has.

Your issue appears to be that the MP portion of the game receives any attention at all. The fact that I pointed out that the SP forums have received more communication would only be deemed "trolling" by someone who has already closed their mind to any evidence to the contrary. You are here because you are angry about the MP portion of the game existing at all, and having caught up on some of your posts in other sub-forums, this is now abundantly clear to me.

I could link you posts from developers, but there would be no point. As you have already indicated, you would simply throw your hands in the air and declare that I am "trolling" you because I am pointing out that the evidence does not support your position.

It doesn't bother me if you don't like or care for the MP portion of the game. I also don't feel that the MP portion does - or should - receive more developer attention than the SP portion. But none of this is relevant to you, which makes the discussion entirely pointless.

You can feel free to have the last word to your heart's content.

Thank you for graciously allowing me to end this exchange.

I'm not sure how "they haven't updated us in X months" is a "hyperbolic point."  It's a fact.  I can understand if you were put off by that other guy, but it doesn't change the fact, or invalidate the concern.  If you really thought he meant there were absolutely no Bioware posts outside this thread or subforum, then I apologize, because I didn't realize you would take such a comment so literally, coming from obvious frustration as it was.

You assert that the SP game has received "greater focus and attention."  I'm not sure how you quantify that, but stating something dramatically without supporting it doesn't sound convincing.  Or I could be getting you wrong again; you haven't said anything about the lack of updates SP-side, so do you not believe that is the case?  If you think we've been getting updates about that, then I could understand why you think we're getting greater focus and attention.  Maybe I missed them, but for the past several weeks I've seen no responses to bug reports (not on the Feedback forum nor on the EA answers site the Tech Support link goes to).  No responses to issues or concerns.  No updates on what the plan is moving forward.  If you haven't found that to be the case, then I apologize, and I'll go check them out.

Also interesting that you've decided anything I've said indicates that I don't like MP getting any attention.  I apologize if I gave that impression.  Looking back at my posts, I don't see anything that could possibly be interpreted that way, but if you're willing to come back and point them out to me, I will be happy to go edit them to remove that impression.  I won't say anything silly about you revoking that whole "last word" thing.

Still a lot of poo flinging goin on. They're giving us a chance to start over and people are still on about the same ole ****.

This is where moderators need to jam a finger in the leak. Nothing positive is gonna happen until we as consumers let go of the negative past.

I believe the plan was to allow console players to redo the challenge that occurred during the weekend that XBL and PSN were hacked. I haven't seen any reference to it since, nor am I certain the original mention I saw was necessarily from a developer, so I can't say for sure.

I suspect that it would only be available to those who didn't already have those challenges completed in their prestige list, and would probably run concurrently with a new challenge, but I don't really know.

We are able to reproduce both of these bugs internally. I found that they are both timing related and happen most often during low-bandwidth, high latency, or unstable latency internet environments. If you're playing at a time where the player pool is small enough that there aren't a lot of hosts to connect to these issues will be more prevalent. We are working on a solution.

God, I have I mentioned I hate net code? Especially with load balancers and proxy servers. Why yes, Mr. security person, of course the system fail-over is less than 10 seconds... if we have only one computer and one server, both in the same room.

I suddenly have the urge to make a televised sport of throwing computers off the top of buildings.

Aside, nice to hear things are moving along smoother now.

I don't consider it a contradiction. Here is what I consider a contradiction:
Players - We want Dev interaction! C'mon wtf?
Devs. - Alright we messed up. Let's start talking about how to fix it.
Players - No way. You messed up. /rant

Some people are not going to be happy, no matter what the devs say or do. It's better for your sanity not to argue with them.

- The stat %attack increases damage done by the character (auto attacks and abilities)

- The abilities that say they increase attack by 25% don't effect abilities

Tidying up some of the terminology would be nice.

I'm more concerned with the negative present.  Not sure what you mean by the past; game's still broken for many, has issues for many more, whether SP or MP; and for some reason, there's always a cadre of folks who're lucky enough to be in the group not having issues, who spend a fair bit of time telling everyone else they don't have any valid concerns.  As if not experiencing crash bugs proves you're a better person or something.

100%. Who are you and why did you only start posting recently? We need more people like you involved :D

Haven't really been around long.

Came here looking for info from the community regarding builds, tips, tricks, etc, along with support from the dev regarding some issues.

Found lots of great info from the community, and due to my timing, witnessed one of the most odd(?) series of posts I can recall seeing. Couldn't resist, had to add my two cents. I also found one of the most relaxed forum communities I'd visited in recent times (again, the one or two threads aside, BSN is a spring meadow filled with bunnies compared to what else is out there). People are generally constructive, polite....actually use full sentences and grammar!!! It's refreshing.

Now I think I'll stick around for a bit, because I am genuinely curious to see how this all plays out (plus, as I've mentioned, I'm really enjoying DA:I, for the most part).

Also, I can't lie....some of the reading over the last week or so has been pretty entertaining! I'd say UITD is an early candidate for FPotY (that's, Forum Post of the Year) :P

Devs. - Alright we messed up. Let's start talking about how to fix it. BY POSTING IN THE MULTIPLAYER ONLY FORUM
Players - Huh?

Devs: LOL!

salad got banned, made a hilarious sob story video, **** was good

things actually seem to be headed in a good direction now, where players can voice their concerns to the devs, and the devs can use their education in video game design and the feedback to react accordingly without a minority of players violently harassing the devs

In fairness, all it would take is a link to get people over here, but I get the feeling people would be offended that this topic is in the multiplayer forum (despite the fact that it was started by a user and perhaps even in the wrong section entirely.)

You assert that the SP game has received "greater focus and attention." I'm not sure how you quantify that .

I'd argue that the patches containing far more single player fixes isn't an invalid way to measure it. Now mind you they may very well be posting less in those sections but

A: there are far more single player sub forums so even if the numbers were the same it would look far more diluted.

B: Work is clearly getting done under the hood and would you rather see them concentrate on actions or words?

I cut that down on a phone so you best at least appreciate the effort hooligan! (Shakes fist)
