What can WE do to prevent further players from leaving MP?

With so many high level players leaving the MP and uninstalling the game, us who want them to stay are left in want.
Let's throw around some ideas to encourage players to keep their game installed so that we can enjoy their company because let's face it, it's better that way.

You can do nothing. Quit because:
1) Forced to level characters I hate to play just so I can get stronger? WTF, I should be able to pick 1 class and play only it and level up, getting stronger as I go, not being forced to play other classes that have no gear, which leads to:
2) The sh.t RNG system. Some of us spent 500k+ gold getting only 1 purple item and tons of junk. I don't have that kind of time to sit and "grind" over and over on characters I hate to try and get items.
3) So I left this POS MP and now playing Shadows of Mordor...
Ciao!

Bioware should be asking us this. Actually they must be asking it to themselves.
ME3MP 18 months post-release was rocking full on, big time. That subforum has 105k topics (vs 1.5k here) for a reason.
It is sad to see DAMP dying so early, but obviously Bioware as a whole is the part to be blamed for it. The game is dull with no meaningful additional content in two months, the community is divided by region and there is no sense of progression whatsoever. Being buggy is not even a serious factor anymore. If there were interesting new content, a thriving global community and clear progression, things would be different.
I for one feel powerless when it comes to keep my friends playing the game. I perfectly understand why they are moving on. I do not leave DAMP because I am stubborn, and because I want this to be ME3 spiritual sucessor. But one can only play DAMP for so much before it burns out. I hope that Bioware is sensible enough to understand this game needs to be saved from its current state.

1. Why only 1 class? That would get extremely boring. One of the biggest positives about DAMP (especially compared to ME3MP) is the variety in skill choice for every class. So many different ways to build each class. Experimenting with builds is half the fun. If you really think there's only one class that you like to play as, then I bet you just haven't experimented with other classes enough.
2. This I agree on. Either there needs to be like a Premium chest equivalent that has a higher chance of getting rares and uniques but is much more expensive, or the loot pool needs to get smaller as you get rares and uniques so you have a better chance at getting the ones you haven't already gotten.
3. K...

I know the disconnect issue is real but we as a community really should stick together for support.

Your sentiment is a good one.
Though I had no idea high level players are quitting, how would anyone know that?
If they are high level players then they played it a lot and they are entitled to something else.
If they like it, they will be back for DLC.
(Why uninstall? Is that a memory issue?)
As high level players leave new ones join, I would see new players starting in MEMP well over a year post-launch.
What we can do personally is to play as a team, in game
and to enjoy the weekend events, even if the chests are a bit iffy.

Your heart is in the right place, but that responsibility ultimately lies with BW. They are fully aware of the problems they face so no sense in beating a dead horse. I want to encourage some of my other XBL friends to buy and play DAMP but I won't lie to them in the process of doing so. There's nothing you can do about others leaving either. People make up their own minds about what they want to do or how they spend their time based on their experience. No amount of pom-pomming is going to change their mind unless you give them something to change their mind about.

If something is bugging you take a break for a day, play something different or preoccupy your time in another way. If you get annoyed by something don't repeat the action over and over until you get so mad you post a rage vent thread or video.
Nearly 400 prestige score, and I'm not bored with Damp yet.

Isn't that BioWare's job?
One could say it is
However as there isn't a clear consensus on what constitutes proper attitude in these forums from either side of the argument I would suggest we take the lead. As a Navy veteran of the United States of America I fully understand the need to become leaders where leadership may have their shortcomings. They have failed to maintain their role in retaining players so we as a community need to come together and fill that void created by inaction

er... isn't this what the Groups forum does?
I only PuG but I know some people like teaming up.
The role I see from BioWare is to have stable bug free multiplayer with new MP DLC released over time with weekend events.
I can see they are working on the former and I look forward to seeing more of the latter.

Eh, I ain't goin' nowhere. I may take a few days off occasionally. But, DAMP is my new ME3MP. Believe it or not, I think the biggest hurdle isn't any bug or glitch, or rng chests or lack of progression, new maps or new enemies. The biggest one is the region lock. In ME3, I can get on day or night anytime and find other people to play with. Not so now.

You can't make people play a game they no longer want to play, no matter what their reason for leaving. The more important action would be keeping new users who come to the forum here instead of chasing them off.

Just keep playing. People stop playing when there's no one to lobby with after 20-30 mins of searching.

I don't understand how The Witcher 3 already has 12 or something FREE DLC's already made and ready to roll all the while saying screw forced MP and screw pay to play when I see how DA:I has STILL not asked us to pay for extra content. People please understand I truly believe EA is evil. I completely agree! We still shouldn't make claims that have yet come to pass.er... isn't this what the Groups forum does?

Not sure what we can do on our end. Maintaining a playerbase would require improving stability, rolling out new content, and revamping how gear is handled.
Of course that costs money and I wonder if BW wouldn't rather just cut expenditures and ride out the lifecycle of this game while moving on to Mass Effect.

Face it, more hell has been raised over this game than most any I've seen. All that passionate protest would never have happened if we didn't LOVE this game.
The loudest protesters are the one's who love it the most.

New content!!!
Only 3 short maps
Only 3 difficulty settings
Only a few weapons
Only a few viable class option
Promotion is not the way to extent the life of a product (Game)
You play because you want better gear. What happens if you get all the top 3 weapons of each type and best equipment?
The game becomes dull grind for promotion points with no ending. Grinding for promotion is not rewarding. After like 50 promotion what else is there to do ? Beside leaderboard e status.
If this was PVP game than the competition becomes the content but in PVE game new content is needed to maintain a certain interest

There's going to be a natural "ebb and flow" around new content added. It's ok to stop playing a game for a bit and come back to it.

i also hate the promotion , more promotion and make the game easier
i would like a new game mode that is exactly the same as mass effect with 10 waves
no looting, reward is awarded automatically after objective wave
small map like ME.
promotion does not affect any attribute or cap at certain point

Maybe have a safety net like in Diablo 3. Where after purchasing a certain amount of chests from the store and getting no good rare or unique weapon to show for it, the game can be like "Ok, RNG has screwed you over enough, here's a decent rare or unique weapon for you."
Also just more of the standard content would help. New maps to keep things fresh, new events to spice up the runs. If a safety net like thing is implemented then they would have to add more weapons and accessories.
Or hey, the crafting system needs to be fleshed out more, maybe they could add to that. Could be another option if RNG has been rough on a person.

Sticking together? For me, that really depends.
I'm just going to leave this here. Note: Only read through the rest of that if you have a strong stomach.
As to the topic, I'd rather not convince people to play. I'm only interested in playing with people who want to. If they've got one foot out the door, they're more likely to spend their time raging about what I'm doing, and I'd rather relax and have fun.

Oh, hell to the no am I clicking on that link. Romances in RPG's lead to nightmarish discussions. It's why I abandoned the Mass Effect single player forums and rarely go to the DA forums. They're just..wrong. So very, very wrong.
Dammit. I clicked the link...dammit.
