This is pointless and has nothing to do with my original comment anyways. You two are simply adding fuel to the flames and not contributing to ways to help MP given the fact that thread involved SP.
Stay on topic people

I was responding to your comments about community, and the nature of people's roles in it. I think that in that regard, I have (and this is especially unusual for me) been more on topic than you have. And I'm pretty sure that you've done quite a bit more stoking of the fire than I did.

Long story short: I play games with a community, and I post in a forum. I don't see the two as the same. I don't have any trouble distinguishing between them. If people leave the forums, I will still be playing games with the PS 3 community. If people stop playing, I will still be posting in the forums. The extent of my ability to accomplish anything to maintain either community is to avoid acting like an assh*le to the other people in them.

Clearly, I'm willing to make the occasional exception, but that's what happens when you're a generally angry person.

I...agree? I think.
Had it not been for stoking the flames we never would have received a response from the BW Devs in the first place. There is a time and place for all of this and I don't steady live in left field, I tend to have reason behind taking my time to type all this out on my iphone during work hours no less

It troubles me deeply because it disturbs my world view,

but the above statement is probably true...

Shelled - No offense or anything, but spending 500 hours on a game - I would consider that pretty good bang for your buck.

Just give it time, I'm fairly certain they will keep adding things but we can't expect it to be NOW! Development cycles do not work like that, especially on a multi platform title.

That's pretty difficult to say one way or another. It wasn't what I was referring to, and I don't want to conflate the two. I like to think that the developers interact with us because it's the right thing to do when you run a forum that is ostensibly for interaction with your consumers, rather than because some people confused criticism with insults and raged themselves over the line. But I'm not likely to ever know.

So what you're saying is, they got their money so why should they care?

I get that, but there's nothing else to really play right now lulz.... I didn't spend that much time on it because I think its the best thing since sliced bread.

Others have said this, but the region lock will kill this game.  It's only been two months, and already I have to wait 5-10 minutes for a lobby to fill or join a game in progress.  People will quit this game because they think the game is dying.

How big are these regions anyways?  Seems like a 10 mile radius from my house.

Where are you?
I can't say I experience this being in the US and all but it seems to be a major concern to others

I keep hearing "region lock" but I've played with some eastern Europeans, so I'm guessing any region lock might be a time zone issue.

Hey, I was dead serious. The amount of people who agreed was testament to that fact that this is a dark series

Creepy.

I see a big different between peak times and non-peak times in the US. Mornings before work in particular are very sketchy for getting a game.

Which region/time zone are you in?

I am guessing Mass effect franchise is far more popular and known than DA.That’s only my 2 cents.

I can agree wholeheartedly on everything you wrote. But  Allan Schumacher said to my question about matchmaking, they will take it in consideration.

"Nothing confirmed yet, but I know we were considering having a sticky thread that was "just the facts" with the information (no discussion) for quick reference to anyone coming in, while allowing another thread to exist for fans to talk/give feedback etc. I know this type of exchange works for me when I follow games myself, and I think it might be similar to what Mass Effect did with their MP?  I'll have more information for you tomorrow (I have an appointment in the morning so I likely won't see the thread again until tomorrow afternoon my time).

Same goes for your matchmaking inquiry."

The fact that they acknowledge matchmaking to be an issue gives me hope already. Thanks for sharing this info.

Interesting... Is this a regular occurrence, running into people outside your region?

It's more likely in the mornings than the evening, but, yes, it does happen regularly. I honestly have no idea why I wouldn't have a region lock issue more or less than others, but there you go.

I should add this, I suppose; I'm not doubting that people are having some kind of region lock issue. It seems to occur quite often for others on the forum. I don't, however, seem to be having such an issue while searching for games on PC.

Are you on PC? I only know that it affects PC players, not sure what it is like on consoles. Also, for players living in North America or Western Europe the region-lock is irrelevant and can easily go unnoticed. You will find lobbies/pugs at almost any given time. It is very strange that the people you played with were speaking some Eastern European language, but that doesn't change the reality that I see playing from South America. I hardly ever find any lobby, and on the rare occasions when I find them, they are filled with my countrymen only. But for the most part I can't find lobbies at all, and I play exclusively during North America primetime, when there should be many people around to play with.
I know players from Asia, Eastern Europe and Australia/Oceania having exactly the same problems.

Yes, I am on PC. I even ran into you in a lobby a while ago, but you bounced out pretty quick...along with everyone else. I thought it might be my breath or something.

As I said, I don't know why others have an issue, only that I do not. Not simply finding a lobby but that the lobbies I get into are pretty varied.

It has gotten to the point where I come on for one of two reasons.

1. There is a weekend challenge.
2. A mate has requested a game.

The rest of the time I refuse to load up the game anymore.

If and when they bring out DLC, SP and MP, it had better be free. I will not be paying for any more content these devs produce for us. I already spent $90 (AUD - Origin) to beta test this buggy game..
