Played a few games today, I've got about 2-3 fully working games out of 10 tries ( key bug fixed, but things like infinite loading, host migration failure, lost connection to session, etc. remains, already posted on AnswerHQ ), and this is what happened after 4 patches.

I think I've tried my best to enjoy the mp, but it's beyond my level of patience.

You forgot the impossible to move bug  :P. It happens fairly often too.

3 working games out of 10 is more or less what I get when pugging too.

This might be ironic considering I made this thread but with the SP Dupe exploit being removed on this patch I have yet to play MP as I refuse to accept the removal of said exploit.

I'd say be more considerate and such but most of the jerk behaviour I see is in threatening pugs anyway.

when you get the more hardcore/elite/etc players, that probably use these forums too, they seem to be pretty nice in comparison, and because of their level don't mind carrying weaker & bad players. I have a better time playing in perilous pugs over threatening just because the idiots get fed up and stay away from perilous when they can't get any completions. I guess going out of your way to support fresh players will be great here, personally if we can carry as 3 I don't mind some fresh player jumping in as 4th (as long as they aren't taking the ******)

other things that cause people to leave are down to the game's empty achievement in progressing, which is game design. you can grind out promotions endlessly trying to create perfect characters but pretty much everyone will get to a point where they go "why am I doing this, it's not even fun" and leave. most of the "achievement" spurring people on is in the loot list (which is limited to a few desirable items and the rest being junk) and rankings (only top 100? expand it more, with more stats ranked so it's not just the elite timewasters who care about it)

I played a text based MMO with a random RNG for years and every single player was listing according to their rank. This allowed more competition. They also had "zones" that if held gave better RNG and stats but could be unseated if defeated which created clans that could join within 24h of the siege of that zone. It works great and even though the game itself can get to a point of "why am I doing this" it still gave the player reason to participate and log in daily.
There also were challenges that a clan could team up against a strong beast and if defeated gave you more exp than normal. As these monsters were defeated harder and harder ones would unlock. There are still monsters that are undefeated and players still getting stronger and better gear in an attempt to defeat them.

I'd be more encouraged to play these days if I wasn't getting an error every single time I try to get into a game. Get 3 errors in a row and it corrupts my SP saved game!

Woh! Wait, this is big. How does it corrupt your SP file?

The other day I was trying to play MP and it crashed several times at various points in trying to get into a game. So I said **** it, let's play a bit of my SP game. I load it up, game tells me my save file is corrupt and I can no longer continue my saved game, only an option to start a new game. Luckily I always have like 50 save files for one playthrough on all these types of games. If someone just saved under the same file, they are screwed.
