The argument against "lack of evil" complaints in Inquisition, go a little like this....

"The Inquisition is a chantry/religious based organisation. Therefore, it isn't logical for your character to be able to be an evil c*nt."

I beg to differ, but to be able to explain why... I'd have to delve into some subjects that would just make this this thread into one of those ridiculous flame wars we see so often on here... but basically, it has to do with the fact that religion isn't always the "beacon of peace and love" that it attempts to make itself out to be and often, has the opposite effect.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying *ALL* religious people are like that.

And.... now I shut up.

Why would you need to find an Asari?

As I recall, you have a haram. ;)

Unless.... you're being greedy?

While I felt that some of the Hawke's lines were well-written and amusing, the system itself was pretty bad. You had to pick one personality and stick with it the whole game no matter what. Paraphrases were vague as hell and his responses were too colourful, so there was pretty much no way to successfully mix the dialogue options without metagame knowledge. Unless you were fine with your character sounding like he has a severe personality disorder or something. DA:I is much better in that regard, still has nothing on DA:O, but that's understandable, because HoF was not voiced.

I think that even important was that the player chose literally everything HoF said - sure we had to choose from already-written phrases but it was a choice - our character wouldn't start babbling without our choice and we knew what they were going to say. The dialogues didn't continue on their own like they do in DA:I, DA2 and way too often in ME3

I'm sure that even if HoF was voiced but the previous dialogue system was used they still would feel closer to the player than both Hawke and Inquisitor combined - at least because we wouldn't have to play a guessing game with paraphrases

I miss Hawke too. He actually felt alive in the world. The Inquisitor is definitely better than the dead-eyed, slack-jawed Warden, but it's still not the same.

I miss Hawke too. From a role playing pov I feel like I should like the Inquisitor better, but Hawke was just so damn funny and likeable.

My Hawke died a valiant death smacking a spider thing with a stick. Never forget.

Rest in peace.  :crying:

Some of my favorite voice acting, too.

I almost have a crush on M!Hawke thanks to that voice.

They should have had Hawke's escape from the Fade as the ending teaser for Inquisition. Just like Neil Patrick Harris in "Harold and Kumar", Hawke steps out of a Fade Rift alive...all covered in spider muck.

"You're making a killing? Me too!" *murder knife*

Best line in Dragon Age.

lol!! That's why the Warden will always be the most badass DA hero while Hawke is the funniest hero. The IQ is just a hero.

We can't be sure that Hawke died in the fade, all we know is that he or she is stuck there for the time being. The last moment that we see is the "stick smacking," not Hawke dying.

Agreed on the lack of the evil path. Hovewer many other problems lie in the guidelines the VA's were apparently given. It looks like they asked them to be absolutely neutral in their tone, which led to deadpan delivery you mentioned(although I didn't think the English VA was that bad). Surely some lines had more potential to convey sarcasm, it's just the VA's seemed too stiff. It sort of reminds me of ME 1 where Shepard was mostly bland, but that changed as the series went on and tuned out great in ME3 imo, while the dialogue responses were still possible to mix. Don't know why they didn't use this experience here. Because mostly neutral writing and more lively delivery(stil not as lively as in DA2) could've worked out great.

Yeah, i dont thinki any of the actors are responsible for the dead-pan voice, as they were just following direction. I mean there are four voice sets, and it makes very little difference which one you pick. What they could have done, is used two of those voice sets: and let those who wanted to play as emotional semi-set pc, could play as Hawke/new set pc. The other two voice sets could be used for the people who wanted to play inquisitor/neutral.

That way both playstyles could work.

Bioware might make another "Mass Effect" or "Baldur's Gate", it's not like those games with a single protagonist have not been well received. lol

Obviously there's still a lot of gold to mined from replaying past heroes.

But if Bioware wishes to venture into other parts of Thedas with its Dragon Keep imports they need to move on.

That's why I think they should make follow up Hawke and the Grey Warden with separate, non-exportable sequels for wrapping up their storylines.

I don't want my Hawke to adventure into Tevinter or Nevarra. Maybe Rivain and the rest of the Free Marches would do, but it just becomes more and more complicated. It's like dealing with decades of comic book lore. Best to keep the heroes regional so Bioware can continue to develop. I know I don't want the same magic system from Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition to affect the future play of my Hero of Ferelden. Some of the talents I choose would obviously be abandoned. Cutting down Hawke's available talents to Inquisition's 8 slots would frustrate me.

So please, Bioware, create isolated sequels for our past heroes. My Hawke wants to marry Isabela.

This would be so awesome!! But, i have a sneaking suspicion the warde. will appear in an expansion. afterall the dwarf, elf and human options are already there in the cc..It's quite do-able..

Baldur's gate 2 was not even set in Baldur's Gate, it was set in Athkatla, an entirely different part of the Forgotten Realms world. You use the same protagonist as the first game, the story itself makes it so, the Keep probably would have made such a game work better, and we now know that Bioware is willing to add a separate character creator to recreate past PCs. So I don't think you  need a new protagonist each time to explore more of the game's universe. What this comes down to is a question on writing, do the writers want to continue to write for one character or create another? I think the writers get bored with one character, or they might feel like they might not come up with as many new ideas if they don't start

completely afresh.

I miss being able to select: the humorous option.

When I picked a dialogue option in DA2: it had emotion to it, and the characters actually reacted to the personality. In Inquisition, no matter what I pick: it's always bland diplomatic goody-two-shoes. Hawke may have been in inquisition for a brief cameo, but the personality always seemed 'angry at wardens'.

Inquisition, caters too much to much to the hardcore sef-insert/roleplayers. It's not balanced, and forgets the players who don't want to make all of the P.C themselves.

I would like to see the Hawke/DA2 personality system return in DA4. Not the exact same, give it some room for the self-insert/hardcore rpers. Just don't just use the 'it's slightly different dialogue' but the same goodie goodie personality, that Inquisition had..

I wish I could have left the inquisitor in the fade  <_<

Oh Contraire.

Spoiler

I have a new thing, its a saying to describe a really awkward situation, hawkword, that conversation was very hawkword.
