My Hawke died a valiant death smacking a spider thing with a stick. Never forget.
He doesn't die. Or she. It doesn't say he or she dies if left behind.

nothing beats the options the warden has.
Remember the first encounter in lothering?
Warden: "Beat it sister, let this man exploit people's suffering"
Merchant "thanks for dealing with her, now for the promised discount"
Warden: "I think ill just take it all" *slits merchants throat instead*
Oh gawd will these kinda options ever come back
Oh man!
i was a female dalish elf
i told cammen i would sleep with him to practice for gheyna
then i ran to gheyna and told her he isn't a virgin and wanted to bed her.
Then told her that he was screaming her name while he fucked my female elf warden
it was glorious!
then i slaughtered the clan

If Hawke survives the Fade, I will probably die laughing.
I really hope it does. I could construct a panel that soaks in the energy of fan rage and just point it at my computer while logged into BSN and it will have its own sustainable power source.

I have no doubt that if it's going to happen, class will probably be irrelevant. But still, here's to hoping. The suffering of others would make it all worth it.

I like how Bioware made it vague by saying the person you choose will likely die

Do I miss a person who joked about their just murdered sibling joining their father after death in the most inappropriate way?
Nah
....That was not a joke...

Hawke's guaranteed survival is the only reason I would ever leave him behind. But if he does survive and end up in a DLC.

What would be the point of such a panel? When apparently you would be dead from "laughing"...

I think it could be their way to wrap up some loose ends, as in if you leave Hawke, he/she survives, if you leave one of the other 3 they die and there is no need to cameo them any longer with that backstory.

I woulden't be surprised if they twist it, so that if hawke is left in the fade they survive, but if they are not they die..

for me hawke was better than the warden or the inquisitor by a long shot , he actualy had a personality , if it didn't have the crap loot and the reused maps DA2 could have been a much better game and if hawke had been the inquisitor I think inquisition would have been a better game , plus varric wouldn't have seemed so lost if he had his old sidekick with him .

I disagree with this a lot. You can't think of it as a personality so much as emotionality. Do you answer absolutely everything with a sarcastic remark? Real life personalities are not one note. Perhaps you are a mostly "diplomatic" person but you see someone bullying someone else.. Do you react in the same diplomatic way you would to most other situations? Do you have a sarcastic remark for everything everyone says to you? While I felt that some of the Hawke's lines were well-written and amusing, the system itself was pretty bad. You had to pick one personality and stick with it the whole game no matter what. Paraphrases were vague as hell and his responses were too colourful, so there was pretty much no way to successfully mix the dialogue options without metagame knowledge. Unless you were fine with your character sounding like he has a severe personality disorder or something. DA:I is much better in that regard, still has nothing on DA:O, but that's understandable, because HoF was not voiced.
Maybe Hawke is on the relaxed/sarcastic side until s/he sees someone using blood magic. He hates blood magic and reacts with the aggressive option.
Or maybe you are an aggressive Hawke that hates Templars. You see a group of Templars hunting apostates- you kill the Templars and respond sympathetically to the mages. I'd say you have more of a personality disorder if you don't mix it up.

I agree with Retconnaissance. It's kind of difficult to explain, it has to do with the way the lines sound: diplomatic, sarcastic, aggressive come off as if spoken by 3 different people. I kind of suspect that this has to do with the fact that the actors probably read the lines in batches, ie diplomatic lines together, sarcastic together, aggressive together. This sets the actor into a specific "role". So, to my ears, it comes off not as if a diplomatic Hawke got angry, but as if there are two different Hawke are speaking the lines, one a diplomatic Hawke and one aggressive.

I dunno- I played a predominantly sarcastic Hawke with occasional diplomatic/aggressive options thrown in and never had an issue. Some PTs were more diplomatic/sarcastic others were more aggressive/sarcastic.
Even if you do have to "pick one personality and stick with it" anything to me is preferable to the bland watered down personality of the inquisitor. At least it felt like Hawke had a personality. Inquisitor sounds the same no matter what option you pick, and your companions never seem to have a reaction to any particular option.
