Baldur's gate 2 was not even set in Baldur's Gate, it was set in Athkatla, an entirely different part of the Forgotten Realms world. You use the same protagonist as the first game, the story itself makes it so, the Keep probably would have made such a game work better, and we now know that Bioware is willing to add a separate character creator to recreate past PCs. So I don't think you  need a new protagonist each time to explore more of the game's universe. What this comes down to is a question on writing, do the writers want to continue to write for one character or create another? I think the writers get bored with one character, or they might feel like they might not come up with as many new ideas if they don't start

completely afresh.

My Hawke has unfinished business in Kirkwall.

My Hawke has unfinished business in Kirkwall.

Mine Hawke still has brothel waiting for her in Kirkwall because Skyhold has none  <_< It was such torture for my Hawke to endure something preposterous as this.Shame on Inquisiton for not building brothels first.

I loved sarcastic hawke, and all the beautifully written moments. One or two moments seemd innapropriate, but by how the companions interact with sarcastic hawke, they knew that hawkes humour was a coping mechanisim, and INTERACTED with it.

When hawkes mother dies, and hawke uses humour.. the desperation, and anguish in their voice..makes it very clear that it is a coping mechanism.

And the inquisitor has 0.1 percent emotion compared to Hawke..and the world in DAI was blander for it.

I want that DA world back where the world responded to the personality :(

They should have created a sleeping action for Hawke's bedroom and for any bed belonging to her romanced companion. (Yes, Isabela doesn't have her own bedroom but that doesn't mean she couldn't sleep in Hawke's room!) Skryim only touched on that option when you wake up next to your spouse.

No matter the personality, Hawke lost people throughout DA2 and showed their grief nearly every time, as well as how they never really got over some of the awful things that happened to them, like their mother's death (not even moving anything in her room except to dust).

The Inquisitor presumably lost people they knew at the Conclave... yet aside from a few sad generic dialogue options about how this was a horrible waste of life, never mentions anyone they lost or reflects on being the sole survivor of a world-shattering catastrophe afterwards.

The Inquisitor is awesome in what they do, but they are a tad boring in terms of their personality. Aside from the main quests and some of the epic or funny moments, I can't really recall that much dialogue that they had with people that really stood out that much?

At least Hawke was a lot more memorable of a character and far more quotable, even the random dialogue you had in minor sidequests. One of my complaints about Inquisition is that Hawke came off a lot more stiff in most of their scenes, even the humourous personality.

Whether it's the stress of being on the run and everything that's happened to them, Varric over-emphasising Hawke's character in DA2 or just being written far too bland and generic to cater to all the various personality-types, they didn't at times seem like the same character we knew in the last game? It felt more like Inquisition forced us to deal with Neutral-Hawke and while this doesn't bode well for the Warden if they ever write them in the game as an NPC, if they are also written to be a blank slate you can input any traits onto to sastify all players?

Although, I fear they might also learn from this and fan complaints and actually give the Warden a personality if they ever should appear down the line, once again screwing Hawke's character over and giving the DA2 haters more ammunition.

The Inquisitor has no really quotable moments, everything they said was just neutral overkill. On my first playthrough, I selected the humorous option and expected humour, and I got: super-neautral-overly-vauge- responses.  I then tried Aggressive responses and, lo and behold the same thing again:super-neautral-overly-vauge- responses.

What they did to Hawke.(Including messing up marian trademark style hair) was horrible. It felt like there were hints of Hawke's personality, but it was barely anything at all. I found it incredibly jarring, when the wise-cracking snarky hawke, was reduced to..a fraction of their former self.

They need to seriously leave the warden alone, and don't bring them back at all. If they give the warden a personality: oh boy, the rage will cause the EA servers to crash. Most of DA2's hate is from the game being rushed, recycled maps, and people dump that hate onto Hawke. Which is a real shame since Hawke is a great character, who runs circles around the inquisitor in personality.

Other than the fact that Isabela probably banged half of Kirkwall, that pretty much sums up my "ideal" relationship... humour, chemistry, sexual tension, the works.

Remember, "everyone knows honey badger" ... awkward.

The advantage of having a non-voiced PC. I always loved meeting King Cailan as a Dalish Elf, he politely asks your name and you reply "I'm no friend of yours, human Lord.", then when he compliments the Dalish on their skill "Too bad the same can't be said about yours."

Dalish elf is having none of it.

My Warden should've been executed for treason the way she talked to Cailan. And then waltzing off to throw the verbal gauntlet at Loghain...aaah good times.

Simply put, Sarcastic Hawke blew the Inquisitor out of the water in terms of personality and emotion.
