True story. We're living in an age in which technology defines and in many ways controls many peoples lives- (facebook, computers,  smart phones and so forth)

 

 

However..... Human's are becoming, well, dumber. Human beings are becoming denser and losing intelligence.

I find this both hilarious and scary at the same time. My IQ is high, (122) so I have no worries about my raw intellect. 

 

However.... It would seem that the human race is getting more glib and ignorant. 

 

 

Thoughts?

The only source you linked that is remotely trustworthy is the second one which comes from the University of Hartford.

 

IQ has dropped for a variety of reasons - i.e incorrect measurements, worst education etc.

 

Technology, such as social media, I think, is certainly having a negative impact on society turning lots of youth into egotistical idiots addicted to Facebook/Twitter and who can't spell to save their life and it's probably making people lazier too but I think any dwindling intelligence is due to poorer education rather than better technology. Many public schools in particular have been criticized in both America and the UK for failing to meet the standards.

 

With the internet, people can quickly Google an answer and that leads to many internet smartasses going around in debates talking about understanding the answer to something because they saw the conclusion of data but they don't know anything about why it works nor do they understand the data because they haven't bothered to study it but I think this reflect most people's laziness when it comes to learning rather than technology being the problem. You see this in schools and colleges when people just flick books open to get an answer rather than learning the subject and understanding it (which helps more in the long run).

 

The bigger problem to worry about (aside from increasing crime rate) is how politically correct western society is becoming. Now you can't call say someone is fat or use the term "coloured" without being called Hitler or "Satan's homophobic racist son" lol. It's crazy.
