You should use tinyurl to mask the link address. Just hovering my cursor over the link told me what it is. Ruines the surprise.

IQ Numbers are for egotistical fools.
I was ranked 150 a few years ago, which by all accounts means I'm smarter than you all.

But I'm also a bit of a clumsy Ditz with a terrible memory who really doesn't like math.
Which doesn't really fit that number now does it?

Anybody who tries to use their IQ Number to lord over anybody else is more ignorant than the "average" people. It's a lame pseudo science that needs to be abolished.

IQ =/= intelligence.

A test that completely omits creativity and emotional intelligence in favor for mostly problem solving capacities and general knowledge is unfit to give insight into true intelligence.

IQ is a very specific sort of testing of intelligence.

Raw intellect only gets you so far, and trained intellect has its limits.

A holder of 150 IQ can be just as 'glib and ignorant' as any one else. They just may be able to solve certain types of problems faster and more efficiently, problems that may have applied more in higher end tasks, especially without technology available to solve these problems.

In the matter of technology, my opinion is more that technology is weakening our hard intelligence and is at least passive about our soft intelligence, but allows us to do hard tasks much better and faster than ever before (human power is rather limited), and trains one in soft intelligences, if one is willing about it, more than ever before as well.

So yeah, wonderful, we have a lot more people who aren't as good at being trained monkeys for capitalistic employment as before. But so what? We are increasingly able to pursue intelligent aims, and to uplift those around us to that level. Is that a bad thing? Perhaps - if you consider technology to exclusively be a tool for our superior intellects to dominate and manipulate, instead of rely on and work with for the sake of our societal benefit.

EDIT: By the way, your sources mostly suck.

You have no idea what you're talking about, OP, as per the usual.

We are getting smarter. We are more aware of our surroundings and events in the world than ever before, for one thing, as the news is now instantaneous. Ideas that people could not grasp in the past are now common-knowledge (computer-literacy, theory of evolution, heliocentricism, the Big Bang, and many more). Technology has only helped in making this information convenient and available to people. If anything caps this, it's poverty.

There may be a lot more stupid people in the world now than before due to population size, but interaction with people like the TurianRebel212s of the world make things seem worse than they actually are.

I forget half of my studies one months after the exams. One year later and it's completely buried in my mind!

Also I suck at math!

My memory is like a desert with lots of sands. If I don't work on something constantly and make it larger, it will be buried under the sands. To discover what I've built and is lost on the desert (memory), it needs an enormous strive.

As solution I have lots of brief notes everywhere...

This is an excellent (might I say, "inteligent"?) way of approach. With thousands of years worth of research from a combined humanity, it is impossible for any individual to not be ignorant of a vast majority of knowledge (using ignorant in its neutral meaning, not the negatively connotated one). Knowing where to find informations in a pinch is arguably a better way of managing knowledge than simply trying to brute force memorize ALL OF THE INFORMATION (forgive the meme).

Today's challenge is less about accumulating knowledge as much as it is about managing it.

Indeed!! My IQ is above average......... I have the face of an angel and the body of a goddess, but you will never see pics of me, because I am obviously too beautiful for you to handle, so keep away, you silly boys!! *insert coy wink* I am also an introvert of some sort (but I don't like to talk about it much, because I am, you know...... introverted and brooding, not like the rest of you mainstream normal and happy folks). And if I was a guy, I would let you know that my bratwurst was at least four times as large as yours! FOUR TIMES, YA HEAR??! xD

The original DnD had it right with their ability scores.  You have an ability score for Intelligence and one for Wisdom.  I have known a number of people with a 17 or 18 in intelligence but a Wisdom of 5.

I believe we are living in a dark age before a renaissance. We have all these new ideas and technology floating around, but we aren't quite at the point of figuring out what to do with it, and we haven't found our identity as a society. That is why much of the art you'll see is a rehash of older art. We need some revolutionary minds to wake us up as a society.

And then some people, somewhere, say "5 more minutes" and the revolutionary gets ignored.
