Community challenge of killing a Mega Boss. 

By that, I mean having one map with only the boss (or maybe some other enemies as well, but only one room) and making everyone from the community contribute damage till the boss kills them. The boss would have enough health to last around 10,000 rounds or so, depending on how many people will get involved for each community.

It would also mean, people will have a reason to play their level 20 characters instead of constant promoting.

 

Could also have a challenge with a reward system related to leaderboard. So, the people scoring highest in the leaderboard (1-100) would get better rewards than for example lower ranking people (1000-2000). Event relating to damage, kills, etc. It is kind of a controversial rewards system, as people with less time will score less. But this is an example to get people to play more rather than less. Could also do a tiered reward system. 

 

 

One last point, make rewards different. For example: schematics, gold, random unique item(s) or even added stats (adding to stats you gain from prestiging).

Hitting on a lot of what we are already looking at to improve; rewards/how we reward, challenge types, theming them so there is some "story" to the challenges week over week, etc.

 

I too really loved when the community didn't kill the Banshees in ME3MP and they started appearing no matter what faction you fought.

 

I'm going to compile all this together and add it to my notes, always feel free to PM me or hit me up on twitter if you have any other ideas/feedback about the challenges. @blairkerrbrown

O)f the existing 'kill x' types, gaining x combos is the only one that is remotely interesting (and, no, I don't get combos generally, so I'd have to change my ways).

Great idea. Not only is it a cooperative challenge, but it's actually kind of important that remember that "Oh, yeah, combos are a thing that exist in this game" and it might even make people consider trying new kits and experiment a bit! Maybe an archer will try out knock out bomb? A reaver with pommel strike? Crazytown!

 

Another great idea? As part of a group (maybe) kill x enemies with Jar of Bees. Challenge name: Not The Beeees!!

Still hearing those screams...

 

Oh, man, it was really awesome times. On PS3, we never got the weekend challenge splash screen until they fixed it very near the end of support, actually. So, the only people aware of the weekend challenges were BSNers. It was a very easy way to gauge just how much of the fan base doesn't come here, because that whole next week when Banshees would randomly drop into Cerberus or Geth, the confusion over the mics was absolutely, pricelessly hysterical.

I thought MEMP revive weekend was particularly hilarious.

Never seen so many helpful party members suiciding and helping each other.

I've recently moved to the DAMP team in order to help with the weekend challenges and will be working closely with the designers to produce fun and challenging... challenges.
 
Last week we brought online "community challenges" as well as continuing with a personal challenge each weekend. Going forward I would like to know what fun challenges you would like to see.
 
There will also be a Challenge FAQ posted soon for anyone that has questions in regards to loot, times, etc.
 
Also, check us out every Friday at 11am PST on Twitch for the Weekend Challenge Kickoff! Myself and another Dev will be on Xbox One joining random matches and inviting people to our party to play and chat.  We are planning on expanding times and platforms in the future and will keep you updated as we do.
 
Now with all that out of the way, throw your challenge ideas and feedback at me!

DRAGONS! Imagine, you get to door 5 it opens into a huge courtyard and Boom! A dragon swoops down, leveled for whatever difficulty you are playing on( lvl 10-12 recruit, 13-16 threatening, 17-20 perilous ).

I have a dream.

 

This dream has all enemies being Giants including the end boss.

 

Make it completely random.  Less than 0.5% of it happening.

 

If you can make this happen, I will forever be grateful.

 

...and play more twitch streams on PS4 :P

It's one of the current objectives, so it's certainly trackable...

I remember the MEMP event was criticised for being a troll event by some, but it was so funny....

 

Before the event, you die, folk ignore you.

During the event, you die, everyone comes running !!

Different enemy factions in the same game? I remember once when a ME3 community challenge wasnt met, Banshee randomly spawned in games and it was great. Maybe have fear demons spawn in or higher tier enemies from others into games

I don't have a specific challenge in mind that I'd like to see, but challenges that encourages players to work together instead of against each other, those I would like to see more of. It's just that I remember the "kill x enemies with x weapon" and how frustrating it was for players who have not acquired decent gear yet. Definitely would like to see more community challenges - it's fun watching the numbers go up!

 

I would also like to suggest that rewards for weekend challenges get an upgrade. So far it seems like the weekend chests are pretty much the same as the regular large chests. Maybe a guaranteed unique? Schematics? It would surely give players more incentive to participate.

A server auction would be nice. We can sell our Unis/Rares online and other players could bid on them for an insane amount of gold. just throwing that out there. :)

I gonna call the new guy "Fizz" because... well because I have no friggin clue what his username means.

 

Challenges:
1. Nude day at the beach - Complete X amount of games wearing only your default gear and weapons.

2. Beat a Developer - Beat a BW developer in a random PUG match for a free Rare/Uni (and none of that cheap stuff either).

3. Fashionesta - Beat X amount of games wearing X amount of different armor (can be done of different weeks for each kit).

4. DragonSlayer - Kill 25 Dragons. Pretty simple. We know you're adding dragons.

5. No man left behind - 25 games completed with all players surviving. (can also be set as a recurring challenge of X amount for Prestige points).

6. Last man standing - Be the only player to survive the operation (can be set as a recurring challenge of X amount for Prestige points).

7. I'm Not as Think as You Drunk I Am - Use X amount of potions in games.

8. Everybody Love Caltrops - Slow down 100,000 enemies using caltrops (each platform).

9. That's the Spirit - Make 500,000 kills using a Spirit Marked familiar (each platform).

10. Beat X amount of games using Y kits.

11. You're Such a Pacifist -  Beat X amount of games using only the default abilities and passive skills.

12. XPrunning> Looting - Beat X amount games on each difficulty without collecting loot under Y amount of time.

13. Looting>XPrunning - Collect EVERY chest and vase on the map before completing mission.

14. See if you can make it through the week without me making you want to cry.  :lol:

 

oh and... Welcome to DAMP.

Well Fiddzz, you can see that when you helpfully ask the BSN for ideas for future content, you'll get some of that but also some not especially inspired trolling. I have a feeling you'll soon be able to separate the wheat from the chaff, if you can't already.

Hey Blair... taking some inspiration from your Twitter... how about a spooky Silent Hill-esque (obviously not directly copying Silent Hill) challenge for Halloween? Make the enemies all demons (heavy on Fear Demon spawn), alter the maps a bit with some added fog and spider-webs, add some sound effects like howling and creaking floor boards. Zone 5 has no boss and continually spawns enemies at a rapid rate for a fixed period of time (demon flood-mode!). Make actual challenge to simply survive so many of these hellish zone 5's.

Best of all? You have eight whole months to work on it!

That wasn't a troll. It was a BSN-themed challenge, just like 8, 12, and 13. 

 

If they allow us to start the spirit mark challenge now it might be finished by the end if the year.

Not all challenges have to be completed in a weekend. A good reward is warranted for an extremely difficult challenge. Like maybe 10% ME4 (just throwing it out there). Okay 500K was maybe a bit excessive.  :lol:

How about the Victory chests actually mean something.  After that weekend challenge of the platform for PS4, i ended up getting 1 superior rune (which didnt even need) and everything else was normal low level gear stuff. What a great reward for completing the platform challege..... /s

Hello Blair.

 

Weekend challenges should be different than regular day to day playing routine.Also rewards should be special so people cannot wait weekend to play or next Tuesday to see,what they got as a reward(unique banners,schematics,fade-touched materials,more potion slots etc)

 

My biggest wish.

High dragon slaughter fest-kill like 5  high dragons as personal goal.Kill 5 millions as community.

I think challenges should be damage not kills. You do 90% of the damage and someone else gets the last shot in you get no credit for it.

 

Community Challenges should also start upping the potion limit.

Challenges for certain enemies with a penalty for not making it having those enemies in every faction for the next week.  For ME3MP when we failed the banshee kill challenges they put banshees in with every faction the next week.

 

As a result of failed weekend operation, demon commander now spawns randomly on any wave of any faction  :devil:

 

 

Now seriously, if this is place for feedback, I would definitely love more cooperative oriented challenges. Community challenges are great in that regard too.

And absolutely better rewards in challenge chest, or at least something more unique then "just another large chest".

As we're able to see our progress it could be used to allow different levels to a challenge and allow us to adapt to how things are going..

 

Say rescue 100,000 operatives on Routine, 35,000 on Threatening and 10,000 on Perilous.

 

Upping potion limits would be good as previously mentioned and a Victory Chest should at least have a Guaranteed Unique to give a decent incentive to do it.,
