I got my box of crap items none of my characters would use or could use with some useless potions in exchange for 20x gold medals and then i looked at the community challenge of 750k gold medals for a box of crap... No wonder no one is playing this anymore.

Seriously, fix your loot system, raise the unique and rare drop percentage because most of them are crap and only good for salvage.

Day 2 in the challenge and PS4 hasn't even hit the first 150k mark.... Probably because you gave them so many crap items in last weeks chest....

Oh and what is more frustrating about this challenge is trying to level up characters when you finished the solo challenge and now it's pretty much a race to get the most kills. So now low level is filled with level 20's taking kills from players that are actually trying to level.

May aswell have made PVP instead of co-op if you are going down this path.

What you talking bout Rob?

I played a whole 4 hours in the last 2 weeks.....AND I don't drag squat anywhere, I shoot them all.

And for the low #'s its because peepz quit....

None of my friends list play anymore, and I dropped down to less than 2 hours a week. Getting nothing in boxes and the fact I'm forced to level up chars I hate to get my archer stronger annoys me.....and w/ no gear it makes it even worse.

So enjoy MP, I will only show for weekend events IF I think about it...

People talking about the loot but I tinking of other games I've olayed and I'm not sure the loot if worse.

Given that you really only need what, 6 weapons n this game - single hand, shield, two handed, bow, staff, daggers - there are going to be a lot of useless items.

In ME3MP thee would be huge differences not only between SMGs, pistols and shotguns but among SMGs, pistols and shotguns...the hurricane played way different than the locust, the Carnifex was light years different than the Talon. It allowed a lot OT personal preference. I know people who loved the Talon, I hated it. I. Old never use the friggin pirahnna well but I saw people tear up the game with it. In DAMP by contrast do you dare if you have an axe or sword? A maul or axe? Heck for over half the classes there is ONLY one weapons type you can have. That makes it hard to give anything useful for so many of those classes because there is only one best thing.

In Borderlands 2 I can't tell you how many times I killed a raid boss, even son of Crawmerax and got zippo, zilch, nada I could use. It isn't like all these games shower good stuff on you or even useful stuff. We won't even discuss Destiny and their broken loot system. Yes it sucks to get nothing but nothing is part of what you get. Everyone recalls the nothing but then when you unlocked a new class in a generic large chest you forget that.

the only things I might like to see guaranteed would be too end rune or, and I don't even know if this exists, rare armor upgrades.

I just have to get it out there, but people here who complain about being dissapointed about the weekend challenge chest:

1) You're either quite new and expect to get end level gear even from day one. Getting end level gear means that you have to open hundreds, even thousands of chests. Not 10.
2) You do not have the stomach for grinding, and lacks the patience to put in any work to arrive at the end level.

I've said since the first weekend challenge, that the chests you get are the same as a large chest, so the only real reason for doing them is only to get a large chest a little bit quicker than normal, and for some free prestige points. And we all know what a large chest will give. Do not expect anything else from the challenge chests.

I'm not to bothered about how the loot system works, because I think that those greatest of great weapons, should be rare, and if the drop rate even got increased by a tiny bit - they would no longer be unique. They would be common. And then this game would even be more boring then it is now. It's all about putting in the time on that grind and be able to handle disapointments whenever you get a crappy or even duplicate unique.

I'm sorry to say this, but grow up.

The drop rates aren't bad.

Its just that there's no feeling of loot progression which i think is the killer.

There's also the fact that 99% of items from chests have no purpose other then taking up inventory space. Its not like all those potions and t1 salvage mats have any value. They just sit there collecting dust.

Useless commodities are whats ruining the game.

Atleast you can buy better weapons in Destiny from the weekend merchant.

There is litterally no incentive for doing the weekend challenge... Why would I spend another 6hours grinding gold medals if all i got was crap? Not only that, i had to go into every game stealing peoples kills because that is the kind of event it is.

Eh, I wouldn't say that's necessarily game-ruining.

But I do agree that I much preferred the weapon progression of ME3MP. You had a set number of weapons and they all ranked up to Level 10. You had no choice what got upgraded, but there was satisfaction to be had in earning a weekend challenge chest and pulling out a Hurricane IV upgrade, for example.

That is very much lacking here. Seems a lot like you either get something great to replace your current gear or crap you salvage (much more of the latter, as odds in any gamble typically go). No in-between.

I want my Mattock X back. The little underestimated engine that could, dagnabbit.

The lack of progression is a big deal. The drops are very much all or nothing. I think the salvaging is designed to feel "progressive" but the design doesn't feel that way. Even at a very early level I've got way too much leather and metals so getting another dagger means nothing. It is only staves that I care about and anyone much past where I am I suspect doesn't care at all. Since you retain items on level up you really only need to craft once for armor and upgrades so, again, I suspect after not too long you will burn through things to do those materials.

Potions, I am going to be honest I don't think I have seen more than 2 matches where anyone uses potions at all other than healing. I'm actually trying to make a conscious to use some of them because, well heck I have them. I suspect that the lack of potion use makes those items not feel like very much of a reward.

Or 3 maybe you just got all your unique items in your first chest drops and now you think you can be high and mighty.

I know what a grind is, I have max armor/weapon level on FFXIV  but I know when a RNG system is flawed. I also know that usually on games when there are "EVENTS" the items you get are worth the grind.

If you are complaining about spending 6 hours getting crap, try asking people who have end level gear how many hours they have played to acheive that. Ask me f.ex. I have almost everything, but I have played this game since November. 6 hours is nothing. There is also no difference in this game between grinding the weekend challenge (which usually can be soloed in one game) than grinding without the weekend challenge as the weekend challenge chest is just a large chest with a different name.

Gamers like you annoy me. In a real game it takes months to get good stuff. Nowadays it seems like the kids want it handed to them when they first boot up the game. A game is not about the being at the end, its about the journey you go through to get there. The end game is your reward for that hard work. Basically the essence of the original MMO's. I heard they give out max level characters for free now. Oh how it has changed.

Buying stuff, or buying yourself to the endgame really destroys the fun of actually playing a game.

I think the question is what should you get. There were what an N7 AR, SMG, Sniper, Pistol, Shotgun. One, or were there more than 1 can't recall anymore but at any rate that is at least 50 "elite" drops. In DAMP at most you could have 6 really elite drops because you have so few weapon types that is the problem.

Weapons are really the lifeblood of this game, for good or ill. They can't just spray those all over the place.

What if the weekend challenge dropped an armor for example. Would that make people feel like they got something or would they be unhappy they got armor for X class that they don't play or don't want to play?

The thing is that I would rather pay ten times more gold for a chest with worthwhile stuff that for ten chests with a huge chance of crap, even if the ten chest have better chance of getting stuff.

I hate to say this, but it's actually a good place for armor schematics. Once the dev's get that worked out challenge chests might seem more relevant. I do think, though, they should drop in community chests. That would get people more involved in community events.

I was able to complete the challenge running a few solos on casual.  I do wish the loot crate guaranteed at least two rares or one unique.  That's not really asking for much considering most of the uniques and rares are not that great.  It would be better than your run of the mill crate.

Who said I wanted pay to win?

Also gamers like me who grind for 1 year for a zodiac weapon on another grind fest game wants fair drops in "WEEKEND COMMUNITY CHALLENGES" even if it was a rune. I'm not saying give us all the weapons now but if I do the same content over 6 hours I want to atleast see something worthwhile for my efforts, not a bunch of weapons that convert to iron.

Get over yourself mate.  Just coz you got everything you don't need to be elitist.

Gamers like me who have been gaming longer than than you... Gamers like me who play DA:I because it's the spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate on PC and would prefer their multiplayer to resemble more BG MP than ME3.

The only fair drop you'll get is a chest, a regular 1200 gold chest, with a 4.5% chance of getting a unique on 5 items, that has a really low chance of actually being really good. That and free prestige points are the only thing the weekend challenges are about. If you think 6 hours is supposed to reward you with end game loot - then this game is definatly not for you. Once you have decent equipment, you can spend weeks not getting anything you can use. I'm surprised someone who spent a year grinding for one specific item would even think that such an easily completable event would reward you with anything more than what you actually recieved. Especially considering that you are completely new, which is what you have to be if you spend 6 hours completing this challenge. Almost any item that drop at that point will be an upgrade.

I'm not an elitist. I'm just telling you how it is after the experience of playing this game since the day it came out.

No, you're an elitist.

You told me that I wanted to be handed stuff and then claimed that a pay to win and then tried to be all high and mighty and claim that i don't know how grinds work and want everything handed to me.

So how many prestige points should I have inorder to start getting better weapons and runes because I have maxed all my armor but have yet to see any unique weapon over level 10.

Tell me oh wise one that just does weekend events for prestige... Because I am sure the rest of the community only do weekend events for some sweet sweet prestige....

I'm just telling you why no one is staying around to play it.

You should be getting more higher level items when you reach about 200 prestige. Not sure what you mean about you maxed all your armor but that has nothing to do with getting unique weapons.

Getting an unique weapon is like being in a lottery, knowing a 4.5% percentage chance of getting one.

The weekend challenges are just ways to get extra prestige points and getting a free large chest (with a chance to get an unique)..

The "Golden" one was quite the unrealistic challenge. Hope BW makes something "achievable", but not quite easily. I wouldn't mind grinding a bit for the general community progress for a challenge but a number so unrealistic would stop me from even trying, but that's just me.

If the RNG is made more forgiving in the near future they should add new rares/unique items to compensate.  Make the newer items the things for the high-geared people to go for.  Always have to have that carrot-on-a-stick.

I myself am more motivated to "Grind." When I can feel it's working towards a goal, slowly, but surely.  I don't want anything handed to me, I don't want to pay to win, just knowing I can reach a goal of getting a great weapon after X amount of games would increase the enjoyment I have with playing this game.

I got on and I did my personal 20 medals in 4 solo routines with a Templar (immortal, kills, streak, combo, ability kills) and I did mine when the community count was sitting on about 75k after some 18 hours.

The incentive for me to even attempt to further contribute to the Community goal with such a ridiculously unattainable number when the chances that I'll get a reward that has any value to me is barely higher than zero?

Zero.

This event was awful.  I usually play as a keeper with my girlfriend, and I'm happy to play support because we share exp, so whatever.  But we've done multiple missions where she'll get 3 gold medals (2 for various kills) and I get 1 because all my medals are silver.  She got to 20 before I got to 8.  Normally I like this MP because it rewards team play, but this is the first weekend where I've felt like this game was forcing me to compete with my teammates, instead of of play with them.

Between the awful loot you get (I always just salvage everything) and this event, Ifeel like I'm wasting my time playing this game, and that's the worst feeling to have when playing a game.

Is there a reason you couldn't play anything else or couldn't alternate?

Is there a reason you couldn't play anything else or couldn't alternate?

And is there a reason to make a challenge that does not work equally well for all the classes and roles?

Support classes are supposed to....well, support, you know. Not to compete with DDs for kills, not to solo-grind easy mods.

But have anyone seen a bloody support medal? No? Me neither.

ME3MP has 'assist' counts, SWTOR had healing medals. So, that was probably a good idea to add something like that before such sort of the event.
