But  "why couldn't we kill the dalish this time around" is hard to take seriously and it doesn't seem like it was ever meant to be taken this way - making it a joke thread, not a troll one.

Of course, it could be a really poorly done attempt at trolling - but I find it hard to believe when I read the first post ;)

That it's not meant as something completely serious is obvious, but the content and tone of the opening post and title do seem distinctly designed to elicit a response from those who would think it an elf hating post.

If it is a joke, though, OP should put some more effort in it to make it actually funny.

Humans are granted about a thousand different faces, while the elves have two that mostly sneer or growl. It's a sad state of affairs.

Your comments are an insult to the Blades of Hessarian.

It's best reserved for common steak to be fair.

Hey, don't be mean, humans are more-or-less equal to elves. They're just sick. Being human is a disease, unfortunately easily transferred to children, one infected parent is enough and some symptoms (commonly referred to as aging, along with severely reduced magical aptitude) are apparent even without genetically transferred susceptibility - just remaining in vicinity of carriers of the disease is enough.

But perhaps one day someone will invent a cure.

Agreed. Who wants equality when the elves can have superiority.

Could perhaps.

But they won't.

That sort of thing belongs in the Witcher and LOTR universes.

But even there it's sort of eh, elves and dwarves only have equal rights to humans in the Empire you have disdain for in the Witcher universe, and in LOTR they literally abandon middle earth.

Either way it isn't superiority to humanity o.o hell if you what a DA example the Staff of Stillness (you find it in a time warp in the western approach) is a human construct that's pre Imperium construction and yet human and yet far superior to modern human magical work.

So what does this indicate? That roughly little over two thousand years ago you had pre Imperium barbarians weaving magic that is on par with ancient elven ****.

Time erodes everything, even greatness.

That works for all races, Humanity forgot more about magic then was ever stolen from elves.

True one of the old believes by the barbarians of the time was that their heroes were "reborn" in dragons.....perhaps they had their own version of the "well of sorrows" thing but instead of putting it into a well/linking it up with some spirit they did something like storing their heroes knowledge in a dragon instead?

If so; its ironic that not even the humans are aware of how much they have lost.

It's a bit off-topic, but what staff? When I read about some interesting item with a bit of lore attached I try and google it, but I don't seem to find anything on Stff of Stillness :(

Either way, if we take DA:I item stats as binding, apparently the Inquisition is capable of mass-producing junk better than most legendary treasures :D The rime of... whatever is back! :D

In all seriousness, it seems as if the magic is on decline, despite still being the main force in Thedas when it comes to doing great things. All those great magical items, architectonic wonders - will things like those really be possible without relying on magic?

Though, perhaps, the magic is bound to return, maybe there is some sinusoidal cycle, some low and high-magic periods... Who knows.

After all, the dragons are back. Dozens of them.

Ok, maybe one dozen so far, but still.
