I don't understand why we're blaming refugees for not remembering their culture after it's been eradicated.

because they pretend they remember it and look down on everyone else

It seems to me that the extermination of entire Dalish clans is a running gag among the Writer's Pit.

Not endorsing genocide is a big step forward here. I'm all for evil options, but that's too far.

As other's have said, they gave the opportunity to wipe out a Dalish clan to the Dalish inquisitor.  Go to the war table, make the correct choices, and bam, dead clan.

And Solas is definitely setting us up for freeing the Elven mage tyrants so they can enslave the Dalish, leaving us to slaughter them, en masse, as enemy combatants.

You: That guy down in the courtyard of Skyhold going on and on about how it's all the elves' fault.

Us: The skeptical dwarf unfortunate enough to be in earshot.

Plot twist, it is all the elve's fault. looking at you, Solas.

My brother does so to me every day. And every day he pays in blood noogies.

The premise of the game is entirely his fault and he may be to blame for what happened to most of the Elven Gods. What can you do with such an incompetent, untrustworthy, and selfish individual?

He is going to get them killed. Intentionally or not.

You missed the part where the elven god were fighting an endless unwinnable war which only ended because of Solas?

It wasn't too far for my city elf Warden. The temptation of having a badass werewolf army was just too great.

And he did so by leaving the remaining leaderless, divided, and exhausted Elven Kingdom helpless before a hostile neighbor.  Well done, Dread Wolf.  Great job.

You can, very easily via the War Table. Your entire clan and no one will say anything about it.

Not even the Inquistor themselves.......

We have no idea how those so-called "gods" were treating The People at the time. It's implied in DAI that he may have done them all a favor. What he wants to do now, though, is up for debate.

However, he led the horse to water, but he didn't make the horse stomp around and kill all the fish. Cory did that all his own. This isn't an excuse, but the orb is a tool like any other. Cory was already loose. It's not like Solas "released him from his mythical prison" now did he? No, Hawk did that. If not the orb, Corypheus would have utilized something else to kill thousands - maybe something even worse. Corypheus wanted to be a god and he was going to do anything to accomplish that goal - with or without the orb.

I don't know, it's like getting mad at the person who give someone a gun, or leaves it for someone to find. And then that someone murders someone else. Who do you blame more?

We do get to wipe out, albeit with assistance, the last remnants of the ancient elves. That has to be worth a lot more than a few miserable Dalish.

Corypheus would've escaped with or without Hawke.

Still, what was Solas thinking when he gave Corypheus his orb? It's like he woke up and first thought was to find the most powerful mage in Thedas and hand him the orb, no questions asked. Guy was insane and always wanted to become a god, why would he change his mind? Solas should've done some background check.

"May" is a good word is it not? He may have done them a favor and he may have just left the elves wide open.

However, he led the horse to water, but he didn't make the horse stomp around and kill all the fish. Cory did that all his own. This isn't an excuse, but the orb is a tool like any other. Seriously? If so, Solas is more incompetent than I thought.

Cory likely would have been significantly weaker without the orb and it may have taken a longer time to find something as powerful, if such an artifact were to even exist.

I don't know, it's like getting mad at the person who give someone a gun, or leaves it for someone to find. And then that someone murders someone else. Who do you blame more?

I blame both. Solas helps to clean up his mess but how many lives were lost? How many things destroyed? Cory gets death and Solas is locked in a tower for the rest of his days.

Is the thousand years old Darkspawn from the time when Tevinter ruled the world and who was arrogant and uncaring enough to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of slaves to break into the home of God really the person you'd trust with your immensely powerful Orb of Destruction?

If someone gave nuclear weapons to a terrorist group, I'd certainly wish for that person to be held accountable for their actions.

Teventor may of not of been up and coming at the time. Added, it's better then having thedus turn into a waste land.

We don't know that

Yes, we do.

Solas, literally, gave an orb capable of allowing someone to physically enter the Fade to someone who once physically entered the Fade to become a god.

Just what did he think was going to happen?

Man, folks really do like to get their rock soft at the idea of mass genocide.
