Besides the usual suspects anyway.

I guarantee 99.99 percent of the comments you take as saying they're perfect isn't saying that at all.

Someone disagreeing with you about something concerning them is not the same as saying they have no faults. No one can say that after playing DA I. No one does.

I'm sure. We've shared the same thread and I've argued against the dalish supporters, same as you until you guys started showing your true colors. Hell, I even defended you. LOL.

The only thing Dalish supporters and I really disagree over is who was at fault for Red Crossing, and if the bad relations both sides built up prior to their actions really matters when we're throwing blame. Which it doesn't in the grand scheme of things.

Beyond that, I've got no real disagreements. I from my experience have not encountered anyone saying they have no faults or are perfect, whichever. A lot of bias, but not saying they have no faults. No one here can claim to have no bias.

Even when you guys were having that stupid ass argument about the Dalish not helping the humans during the blight, no one said that the Dalish were right. They did however say they understood why they didn't which isn't the same.

I understand perfectly why the humans reacted the way they did to the Dalish when they defeated them. And I don't blame them. That doesn't however make them right.

Do you see the difference?

Well, talking about missing the point... I think you would do better reading people's posts in their entirety rather than "stopping hem there"...

Of course, but they are out there.

Perhaps less now but they have existed.

Pre TME and DAI obviously.

Ah actually, fair enough. You're right I should. Too used to the Dalish hate here, my bad.

And that doesn't justify the immense amount of trolling on these boards. Even if they were here, do you know how childish it is to punish a fictional race in a game for something the fandom says? Seriously.

Especially if it's not even present. How absurd.

Absurd? It isn't absurd to mete out justice to a hostile force, interactions that invoke hostility warrant reaction.

Perhaps others actually allow what someone on a message board to color their behavior in game not me however.

And this is why I never take such lectures seriously. Do you allow outside influence to effect how you play? Perhaps but does that automatically mean I have to do such?

The Dalish are fine, I like them just fine. I like Tevinter too and think its just fine. The difference? Tevinter fans have a great thread going and we make no apologies for the awesomeness of the Imperium. We laugh when ever someone brings up tranquilling Erimond, because we do it to. After all, in the Imperium that sort of punishment is perfectly acceptable for people who really cheese off their betters. We brush off the Venatori as the malcontents and outcasts that they are and gladly ally with the Archon when Josie brings it up. We just roll with it despite Bioware's best efforts to consistently try to paint the greatest country in Thedas in a bad light.

Dalish fans however are always getting their panties in a bunch of over something, like the derp-rage over the [the sensibly practical] three mage rule, the revelations in DAI [which I thought were well done and plausible] or trying to justify some plain stupid things like all of DA2 Merill.

In short 90% of the hate probably isn't directed at the dalish, but rather their very touchy and overly defensive fans.

No more childish than, say, coming up with elementary school insults for other posters.  'Chuckleheads'?  Really?

You'll note that the anti-Dalish crowd has no such name for their counterparts on the other side.  They ride the Dalish like a two dollar hooker on half off night, but the fictional race that doesn't actually matter is almost entirely the focus of their derision.

1. I was specifically talking about people who let others from before the dang game make them want to commit genocide on roaming tribals.

2. Then why are you defending them.

3. We all let outside influences influence us in certain ways, whether we want them to or not. I certainly don't proclaim to be anything but human.

However, this is an obvious extreme one can easily be aware of. The Dalish are not being hostile. No more than the ******* Orlesians that hunt them for sport.

There must have been, since one of them can unreasonably blame a former werewolf for Zathrian's evil several years later in DA2.

She was blaming him for attacking her mother (which lead to her death), which isn't unreasonable since the werewolves had agency over their actions at this time. Zathrian being in the wrong doesn't absolve them of all responsibility for their actions.

No, I'd definitely say that turning every dalish discussion into a thread where people joke about their genocide and berate them and their fans for other fans pre DAI while cackling like hyenas much more childish than calling said cackling hyenas "Chuckleheads."

Seriously.

Untrue. A number of them at Cheesecake's group made homophobic and transphobic comments about gay and transgender fans of the Dalish, including mocking Xil's suggestion about including a transgender love interest in the future.

And in the same thread, they made it clear that they coordinate to attack elven threads, and even discussed attacking the Dalish Supporters group.

Many of us are quite tired of dealing with this asinine garbage every time an elven thread comes up.

See, I didn't even think that was a real thing. I was told this but took it as a sort of theory, rather than being real.

Sorry, but that is truly truly sad and pathetic.

Coordinated attacks? Oh wow...Quit being so paranoid.

Besides, nobody is forcing you to answer these "trolls" because you hyperventilate each time someone disagrees with how perfect the Dalish are.

Then you aren't even paying attention to the thread you're in, since no one 'turned this thread' into something it wasn't.

You know, you have the exact same potential as every other person on these boards, including the pro-Dalish crowd, to see a post that is eye-rollingly over the top absurdly obvious and not post in it.  You know what keeps a troll post on the front page?  Replies.  You know what happens if no one posts in it?  It disappears into the void of page 2 and beyond, unremembered and unmourned.

You'd think people would have figured something as basic as that out after over 30 years of message boards.  Yet look at this post.  SIX.  PAGES.  Over nothing.  The OP never could have done it without you.

But hey, you want to rush into every troll post on the BSN and give the OPs exactly the kind of attention they're looking for, you knock yourself out.

Yeah, except its not true, they laughed Lob off when ever he'd mention it or occasionally played up the assertion for laughs. But, there was never any coordination, they just saw the threads on the main page's news feed.

Nice to see that Lob is keeping the conspiracy theory going though.

actually i think the dalish are constantly poorly written and if Solas wasnt crowbarred into the team i'd have kicked him out or made him tranquil

the dalish are the punching bags of dragon age

elves used to mean something

but bioware couldnt be bothered to animate, model or write them correctly

death is a kindness

why should i care about fictional characters that the creators have clearly not cared about since the damn near beginning.

Kill the dalish and put them out of their misery

and to be fair

even if bioware worte them well

i'd still want to kill them

it's a running joke to kill elves in wholesale :P

Oh now, there you go, the voice of reason. There's no reason not to have a little fun with it.

I apologize to the chuckleheads if I hurt their feelings by calling them chuckleheads. The funny thing is, they all know exactly who they are.

Generally, elfy threads turn into an opportunity for pro and anti-Dalish people to show how much they hate each other.
