I can't buy into most of your suggestions....so many seem, trivial.

Maybe YOU SHOULD get a job designing games so you could implement some of these "great ideas" (IYHO...)

The only suggestions you made that I can remotely agree with is to improve speed/fluidly of player movement. The collisions and rubber banding is quite obnoxious. Also making the loot system based on something other than RNG would've been nice, but I can live with the current system.

I can clear perilous with a character that has next to no promotions, and is wearing nothing but inquisition gear. Until BW gives us encounters/challenges which actually require good gear, I don't really give two craps about gear (aside from daggers for assassin...they make/brake the class). As things stand, better gear just seems to be for flexing your epeen.

I also won't shake my head at new maps, but I have zero issue with the current ones.

Remove crafting???? The hell!?!?!!? No thanks. Back in DA:O days, we fought to get crafting put into DA, and now you want to take it out???

Most of your other gripes seem very cosmetic related...which is trivial IMO.


I understand the general complaint of "this product isn't working the way it says it should"....but I'll never understand the armchair designer perspective of "well, this isn't exactly how I would have donr things, what they SHOULD have done was this...that would allow ME to enjoy the product more."

Extreme example, but it's like buying a car, then being upset it doesn't fly. "What they should have done was put wings on it, that would make it way better. If I ever made a car, that's how I would make my car..." Lol m'kay then.

I would much rather see him use a Raider Greatsword.  I have about 20 of them and can't seem to make them work.  A mercenary blade would also suffice

Lol I don't know what's wrong with you guys. Are we playing the same DAMP, or have people found a higher difficulty than perilous????

The "full inquisition gear" may have been a slight exaggeration, but I guess some people missed that....

I regularly PuG perilous and succesfully clear 5/5 with the most random, ill-prepared groups. It only takes a tiny bit of strategy.

And to be clear, I'm not at all trying to claim "badass" status. To be perfectly honest, I think I suck at this game still.

Which is why I can't understand why people get their knickers wound so tight over better gear.

Like I said in a different thread, more stats and better gear just makes this very easy game a hell of a lot easier.

If that's what you're looking for, cool beans. To each their own, but I just can't understand why people get so hung up on gear.

Other than for looks, solo'ing and flexing epeen, who really needs it?

Although I maintain my stance that top tier gear is really not necessary to beat any aspect of DAMP, I will conceid that certain piece of top tear gear are really nice to have, as it allows you to build your class around said gear. Best example I can think of is HoK rings.

But even with HoK, as nice as they are, you can still function within the game well enough without them.

You guys are taking what in saying the wrong way....taking it how you want it to sound. You think I'm bragging, when Im actually asking if anyone can give me an explanation of WHY the gear you currently have is completely inadequate, and WHY you NEED MOAR PURPS.

There's so much with DAMP that needs fixing, the loot system definitely being near the bottom of that list. If the only reason to change the loot system is to make it easier to get top tier gear....I can't really get behind that.

You're honestly telling me that you guys haven't downed each of the three bosses on perilous, with whatever gear you have right now?? Do I down them every single time (if the group makes it to 5), no. Hell, I still wipe on threatening sometimes. I'm ok with that. But that doesn't mean it can't be done on a regular basis. Sounds more like you guys would like to be god-mode so you have 100% success rate with a half assed effort. If that's you're style, cool. Keep worrying about your purps, I'll go back to enjoying the game lol.

Take the time to read your original post in this thread again, and it'll become clear why people are responding the way they are.

It's not about the gear, it's about the bold claims that have no root in reality. People can complete perilous without superb weapons, but they dont claim to be completing it with no promotions and inquisition gear, which is impossible unless you are getting hard carried. You can atleast attribute that too the game, even if you have other complaints.

Nobody, and I repeat nobody is asking for uniques to be more accessible, or complaining about current gear. The complaint about the loot system is the lack of a sense of progression. Nobody, and I repeat again, nobody has said they want to be in top tier gear.

The point of having top tier gear in this game is because people want the weapons as most people like to collect stuff, also an improvement in your gear can make you more viable on higher difficulties, and make those difficulties easier, which is a bonus. I personally coveted those weapons because I have a bad case of collectors gene.

Also, the seriousness has been focused on your post probably because a lot of negative things can be said about the game, and people do complain about it quite vocally and frequently. But when making claims about something you find negative in a game that has no root in reality it is highly likely too be pointed out by the community - especially when that bold, as it is unnescessary.

My original post was directed at the OP. Due to the rather demanding, boarder line whiny nature of his post, I may have chosen words which "chastised" him a little bit. I wasn't being ubber serious though.

If what you say is true, that you are arguing for more progression in the loot system, as opposed to the current randomness, that is a position I could support. If that is what the OP was getting at, and I misread him, for that, I apologize.

However, after rereading the OP....again....I don't see any language which supports a desire to see a progression oriented loot system. What I see is a long list of "should do's".

If you carefully read the post, N7 actually contradicts himself a few times. Eg, in the first part of his post, he ask for previews when crafting armor. In his second part, he asks to have armor crafting removed completely (because it's "stupid"). The rant-like nature of his post makes it difficult to take seriously.

I'm not really approaching this from a right/wrong point of view. If your only goal in this conversation is to get me to "admit I am wrong," then I suggest we end this now.
