I assume he means Blackwall, but seeing as last I heard he despises Blackwall and kills him, I'm not certain, as that would absolutely be messing with their relationship.

That's what I don't get. Make up your mind, already.

Anyway, I thought it was cheesy, and unless both male and human, pointless.

Don't be hatin' on Antivans.

If I hate Antivans I wouldn't romance Josephine nor consider Zevran as one of the best companions, or interested in the Crows. ;) I just wish I can kick Otranto's ass more. She's mine, you can't have her!

What's the difference with the Underworld perk? I've only gotten that scene once so far and had to delete the character all together due to a bug so I haven't really had much push to do another Josephine run again. What does the perk add? I'm quite curious about it now.

It was all right, I think it was too sudden, though. I would have liked to meet Otranto in a more relaxed setting beforehand. I think he was wasted potential

You have extra option when dueling him. You can bring your knowledge about the Otrantos cheating the Terrazas to slander Josephine's fiance in public, which will anger him and cause him to lose his balance. You'll manage to wound him, but it doesn't matter because either way Josephine will interrupt the duel, and even when you declaring love to Josephine after humiliate and publicly slander the Otrantos's honor. Lord Otranto still accepts defeat.

I can't wait to get there on my TH dwarf gal LOL, she uses a TH, so a rapier is an......interesting weapon LOL

I want to know how a mage, or an archer know how to fight with a rapier

A few hours of practice beforehand with cassandra happily applying the bruises?

The romance factor in that scene is over 9000!   The duel is really just  a set-up for the very public "Because i love you!" that follows <3

Lol nice! Next playthrough I'm planning on romancing Josephine with my Vashoth. I guess it wouldn't be as funny as a short dwarf in heavy legion armor trying to wield a rapier, but I guess a giant ox woman trying to bounce lightly as a goat will be amusing, yet sweet and sincere enough.

Lord Otranto told me that I fought like a dairy farmer

I wonder how much his pride is wounded when a simple Oxmen peasant (my Inquisitor) manage to wound him, and slander his family honor in public.

I'm starting to respect Lord Otranto though, since he turned out to be a man of honor, sportsman and gentlemen. He doesn't throw a hissy fit or plan to ruin the Inquisitor & Josie relationship afterward, he'd just accept the defeat like a man.

What? I never killed Rainier.

Okay seriously.

Even if Josie has a crush on him. She never acts on it.

So what exactly is wrong with romancing her? They don't have a relationship even if you let him live and romance someone else.

I thought the scene was fun and worth the Josie-mance.

Anyone else slightly enamored with Lord Ortranto? When I first saw him I was like "Dayum, he's kinda handsome...."

And on top of that, they are fictional characters.  Depriving oneself of content so that the "character can be happier" is not logical at all because the character isn't real.

...If you're referencing what I think you're referencing.

On topic - that scene was painfully corny and it's my biggest turn-off in Josie's romance.

agreed

I also don't like that the romance doesn't deal with the inevitable issues of a noble woman who's head of her house pairing up with someone who's not a male human noble.  I guess it works out fine if you're playing a male human noble though (which will never be me).  A male human noble Quiz is Otrano's social peer and could realistically threaten his claim on Josie but this isn't the case for other Quizzes.  It's not as if Josie would love them any less but she's a diplomat and she knows the nobility and knows what's expected of her...I feel this should make some difference in how the romance plays out.

Kept in secret maybe? I know that it wouldn't affect the inquisitor's reputation as much as Josie's (since she deals with the nobility so often,) but the inquisitor is the one who closed the breach and killed Corypheus, so they are already legend. Some Orlesian or Antivan gossip won't affect that. Her ties to the inquisition could still be an anchor for her rep., but I think overall it wouldn't be the smartest idea for Josie to hook up with somebody that isn't a noble. On the other hand, if she is in love with the inquisitor, it could add to her power and reputation regardless of origin because they are seen as the legendary hero who killed a tevinter magister and mended the sky.

It was one of the best scenes in the game, and the best scene in her LI arc.

Good point, but the way I see it, after the defeat of Corypheus, many will be quick to forget all about the Inquisition's heroics - "but what have you done for us lately" and all that. I imagine that in a couple of years, the elven Herald will be a "knife-eared savage" and the Qunari one an "oxman brute" again for the general population. In this scenario, it wouldn't do Josies reputation any good. Besides, aren't the nobles all about heirs? This would make her relationship with female or non-human Inquisitors even more complicated. Of course, marrying a respectable noble lord and keeping the Quizzy as a lover would be an option, but I don't see Josie ever being okay with that. I agree that this should have been addressed in the game.

Judging by the way much of Thedas reacts to Wardens, even just ten years after a Blight...I'd say you are on the money.
