Yes the LEAST

 

For me. I used companions in regards to the storyline rather then how effective they would be in combat. For example. I keep Sera while doing big story missions because I like her banter. I played the game three times now. Considering a 4th one where I simply complete every side mission out there.

 

The one person I use the least out of all of them is...

While she's a great enchanter and effective in combat. I can't really get into her story.

 

Who do you often leave out in the cold when picking companions.

Blackwall and Iron Bull so far. Cassandra just too badass.

Although I love taking IB for Dragon fights.

Vivienne. If it weren't for the awesome mage throne I wouldn't take her at all, and in my ultimate canon I might forgo getting her. I didn't recruit Leliana or Wynne in my Canon da:o playthrough so it's nothing to me.

They're all sanctimonious and I can't stand them.

I don't recruit Vivienne. So she never gets used.

 

Blackwall and Solas ONLY if I really need too.

Viv the least, then Iron Bull, and then Varric. I just use them for their quests and special approval battles.

I try to bring whoever makes more sense for the story. Blackwall with the wardens, Solas for elven reasons, Varric with the red lyrium, Vivienne and Iron Bull when it comes to dragons.
Since I kicked Sera out of the Inquisition in my diplomatic playthrough, I am bringing her around a lot in my current one, just to hear all the new banters and interactions.
Probably the one I always leave out, just to bring him around during the completion phase, is Cole. He is cute, all right, but I just can't shake the feeling that I really don't understand the point of him.

Blackwall, who is just less interesting than IB and Cassandra. Sera, because she's annoying. I use all three mages more or less equally, albeit Necromancer being kinda bad means Dorian gets benched on main quests and dragon hunts sadly.

Depends on what class I'm playing. This round, I'm running a Champion who's romancing Cassandra, so Bull and Blackwall are stuck in camp a lot. I love both of them to bits, but taking them means leaving Cass behind, so pretty much, I just take them along for their quests or if I know there's something going on they'll want to be a part of.

Dorian probably. I don't dislike him, but I tend to take certain people to  certain areas and he just lucked out.

 

I find myself keeping Solas for the most time (because artifacts)

Cole and Solas. Cole because he gets droped to easily in combat. Solas because he seems rather redundant to me -- I already have two other mages who I think are more useful.

Blackwall. None of his banter is interesting, and Cassandra performs better then him.

I just prefer Cole or Varric.

I rotate the use of the companions, though I do not have any specific order for doing so. I get all the characters because ALL of them are well written and likable.

 

If the game could track how much game time companions are used, I'd be able to tell you. My best guess? Probably The Iron Bull, but that's only because he's my only offensive warrior - plus the Reaver thing.

Cole, Blackwall and Iron Bull. I only take Iron Bull when I'm killing dragons.

Although they do contribute in making Nightmare difficulty more challenging.

I don't take Bull, Sera, Dorian or Viv out to play.

 

Blackwall does his Memories of the Grey stuff.

 

Varric gets to tag along occasionally just because I love him.

 

But I tend to stick with Cass, Cole and Solas.

The only one that's pretty much always on the bench is Cole.  Blackwall gets left behind alot too because I prefer Cass.  And usually whoever has the same class/spec combo as my quizzie, but that changes each time.

Sera. Can't even stomach taking her out just for her quest. After that, Iron Bull and Vivienne, who get their quest done and are otherwise ignored.

I have rogues and warriors that I like FAR FAR more.

Six PTs and it's Sera whose only appearance was in the first PT. Cass, Dorian, Varric and Solas I used the most. The rest I rotate on and off.
