I agree though i feel like it if we didn't it might be bigger twist but it would dramatically kill the replay value up to so far and i rather go back to rebel Chloe 

 

Indeed...At least with rebel Chloe she can bounce back and live a happy life. I'm pretty sure that is what William would have desired anyway.

I wonder if the timelines will start bleeding into eachother... like that one deer. Might be different than Max just deciding to go back to the original. Plus it would be a way for the OT to still have consequences in the one Max is in now. Wouldn't it be weird to have characters suddenly becoming their alternate selves or remembering things, heck maybe that is what had been happening to Nathan.

I have yet to boot up the third episode. I really dug the first episode but I could see a couple of things and aspects where I was a little skeptical as to whether they would become problems later on, and then by the end of EP2 one of my predictions came true, and it made me lose interest in it.
 
I just have this nagging feeling that everything will just be all over the place by the end, but I should probably shut up instead and give EP3 a chance.
 
One huge-ass flaw it has so far, in my book at least, is:

At the end of Episode 2 when you have to save Kate (or not) from commiting suicide the rewind ability becomes unavailable. It is explained in a story-context why it can't work right then and there, but it was obvious that it was a developer decision to make us take responsibility for our choices, but in my mind it sent me back to the skepticism I had right at the beginning of the first episode: If I can rewind time, doesn't that simply work against the idea of choice/consequence in a game like this? It seems to me, and it still hasn't been justified, that the time-rewind mechanic is a gimmick and one that made the cut before the developers/writers actually realized how counter-intuitive it would be. To me it stands as one of the fundamental rules of choice and player agency that you should make sure that the choices have consequence. It's just like they were having their heads in the sand because "altering time sounds cool!"

 

It also doesn't help that a lot of the story is full of meandering, or that a lot of the characterization feels like an old man who tries to mimic youth's cool-talk but doesn't really get it, and it comes out as forced or dorky.

It could have been fleshed out more as far as time manipulation goes. Like say by saving Kate, you open the door to something even worse down the line and such, creating even a larger moral dilemma of sacrificing one life to save more.

 I have to disagree because you can't really travel that far back in time in most circumstance. Also you can never really avoid the consequences. You can minimized the initial consequences but even the ones you can are often minor and may play out better in the end. With that the initial consequences become part of the choice and you have to wait and see how the far reaching they are. I think you have to be more patient because this game feels like it more about the long con more so than most other games in this genre except for Dreamfall chapters maybe

My guess is Max is actually "meant" to use her powers to fix something that's gone badly wrong, as hinted at by the snow, eclipse, dead animals, etc.  

 

But in the meantime she has to learn that "With great power..." and that her meddling can and will have unexpected consequences.

 

My suspicion is that these consequences take the form of balancing the scales.  Dead whales seems rather extreme reaction, but

Case in point -- It's meant to illustrate that even with all of her powers, she can't undo everything and some tragedies are best left as they are.. because time will always find a way to replace them.

 

I won't be surprised if the game goes the same route as Stein's Gate. I am getting a bit of that vibe from it.

I'm certain Max will end up having to use her powers to revert the world state back to a timeline where Chloe is the rebellious punk and her father is dead, as the alternative would mean none of the previous choices in the series would matter. It would effectively be a reset button on the world state, so its got to go. The larger difference being that it is implied he's in league with Nathan, not his father, as his father is seemingly disowning Nathan.. if anything, they are not on the same wavelength. Nathan is essentially just another one who's being used by his pops, he said as much in conversation with Max. There's also the matter of this ominous "almost Silent Hill-like-unstable" letter from him found in the principals office reading "Rachel in the Dark Room" over and over again.

This is what I'm also thinking what will happen. It seems like the most logical course of actions as by entering this new dimension, our choices become null.

Yeah, he's a Hero With an F in Good.  He's genuinely trying to do the right thing, but he's both overly paranoid and a rather poor judge of character (Thinking Kate was in the VOrtex Club, just as one example)  So even when he knows something is going on, he seems to finger the wrong person.

That is sort of the core mechanic. You are gathering information, and clues to figure things out. Mainly what happened to Rachael and the Prescott conspiracy.

Honestly from what I've seen, she is having a bit of a personal crisis feeling guilty over Kate regardless of what happens. So I'd be willing to forsee her having a change of heart before the end.

Sure, since we could have Taylor have a change of heart, and maybe when she has a change of heart she'll help Nathan become less of an aggressive ass.

She might but from right now I seen nothing redeeming that hasn't then been undone by a future action at least unlike Nathan in some respect especially with her
