Were there any clues to Mr. Jefferson being the guy prior to him showing up at the junkyard? I didn't spot anything. Most of the ep I thought they were dropping mammoth clues that it was Nathan's dad who was ultimately responsible, with Nathan's mental state being a result of (among other things) helping his dad by drugging the girls for him. Though I suppose he could've been doing the same for Mr. Jefferson, I just can't figure out why.

It does hint that it's not Nathan's father due to him essentially distancing himself away from his son.

 

And the pictures show that there was a someone else actually taking the photos while Nathan and the victim posed.

 

It uses a process of elimination approach.

Honestly surprised. I figured if Rachel was dead then Chloe had done the killing. Chloe's behavior in the principles office & her expression at the beach meeting Frank seemed suspicious. Or that Rachel was the one in control of Jefferson because of that phone call. But they were right about Jefferson. I thought that WAS too easy as Jefferson said, but wow. Chloe will rise again I'm sure... I think we do see her in one of the tornado visions so as long as those represent a real event & not a metaphor then we should expect her.

I was actually kind of expecting the moon thing. With the two timelines I had thought they'd pull a page off Fringe & have the two start colliding. Might be that is what the tornado is?

It's not that. I felt like sh*t because I couldn't go through with the one thing she wanted the most, even when I understood the reasoning for it and knowing it's basically for the best. I mean, I get her wanting to die on her own terms instead of slowly wasting away for who knows how long while it leaves her parents in financial ruin, but I still didn't have it in me to kill "my" best friend, and felt horrible for denying her that.

Interesting, but there is a slight problem:

There'd be more missing girls if Jefferson is torturing and murdering students.  ANd I recall in Episode 2 or 3, Max checks missing person files going back a few years, and finding not many people have vanished, and none of them besides Rachel a student.

 

Not to mention Kate survived.  Traumatized.  But she was released.

 

My thought is, Jefferson has only just started killing.  Rachel was the first.  His "goal" is doing his Dark Corner" thing.  but he keeps his victims drugged and unconscious.  Things went sideways when Rachel woke up (possibly miscalculated the amount needed to keep her under?).  Max knows too much and is probably meant to "vanish" too.

Yeah. I understood it like this: Rachel was the first to wake up during one of the "sessions". You can see one of her pictures that shows her being awake and majorly pissed.

The "normal" way this stuff was going seemed to be: girl gets drugged by Nathan, Nathan brings her to the "studio", pictures get taken by Jefferson, girl is brought back by Nathan, girl wakes up and thinks she was date-rape-drugged or whatever and is somehow persuaded by Nathan and/or his father to keep her mouth shut.

Now in Rachels case, with her waking up and seeing Jefferson... well... she had to go. Maybe just the first time for Arcadia Bay, but seeing his extensive collection of files... probably not the first for Jefferson. The guy has a major psychopath vibes going on. Just look at the nonchalant way he shoots Chloe in the face.

 

I'm just impressed that somebody connected the clues back in February and I didn't expect anything like this until Jefferson showed up, mudered my waifu and drugged Max. Sherlock Holmes would probably be disappointed in me.

Do it. I actually rate this game higher then the TellTale games because there are and will be actual consequences for our choices in this game. Even rather big ones; as in: different endings. The characters are also really well written, imo.

 

I have to say i'm rather surprised that a game about a coming of age teenage hipster girl and her special ability managed to captivate me that much, but... damn! I love this game!

I needed to be swayed so I watched a good portion of the first episode in a commentary-free youtube playthrough that showcased multiple choices and how they affected certain characters/events differently. I like the concept of improperly going through a scenario only to rewind time and experience it again with new information you could only receive by messing up first. Thats interesting and I dig it, so I'm likely to play it myself.

I wonder what Jefferson is actually trying to achieve? It's clearly for his 'art', however, I highly doubt his end goal is to eventually release these photographs of 'tortured humanity' to the art world. So I wonder why he's doing it? I just assume that it must be something beyond just feeding into his perverted desires.

I just had to stop in here and sob a little. Ep 4 was definitely a doozy for me. This game and its choices are what I wish Telltale did with TWD.

Max is not a standart protagonist, with a built-in assault rifle to kill everyone that tries to mess with her.

She is facing a person who drugged her, and has a pistol. And most likely the intent to kill her.

 

We have to face the music. In some playthroughs, there may not be anyone who knows what happened. This makes for a very poor chance of survival.

Possibly, though I makes little difference how it happens to me. All I know is that no matter what happens in Episode 5, this is the only solid fact that I know will happen He dies..or as Gohan puts it.

I assume that the two moons will be relevant here, as they appeared for the party, then converged into when Max and Chloe left the party. I am sure that they are supposed to represent two separate realities existing at once, however, I am not sure what this means for the story. I too believe that the photo we took with Warren is a device to transport us back to the party

I might also point out how bad things would look on Jefferson if another Student from his class was to completely vanish (and another tried to commit suicide). True, Nathan is an excellent scapegoat, so long as Jefferson does get rid of all the evidence before attempting to kill Max (as Nathan could otherwise reveal the photos to the police if Jefferson was to attempt to put the murder on him). Your theory seems likely, as we know Nathan is trying to get rid of all the evidence via the text we receive at the party.  However, why would Jefferson wait to take the photo if he's going to kill her anyway? This doesn't make sense if he's going to destroy the rest of the evidence, which likely would include the rest of the photos.

The guy is insane and a good chance he is a Serial Killer. They have a warped view of Reality. Not to mention narcissism. His ego probably won't allow himself to destroy his own work. Then again I won't pretend to know how sick minds work.
