Or severely mentally ill...
I mean who the f*ck in their right mind makes graphs about sweat... or wants DA to turn into a freemium game...
Jeez.

I tend to get along with people who are open-minded and don't mind change(s), when it comes to fandoms. I'm trying to stick to a polically correct tone, but people who are always too stuck in the past and who believe that everything was so much better before remind me so much of why I get along with Sera.
Re SP games: No, I don't need a fanbase to ruin my enjoyment of the game. The game makes or breaks itself for me.
Re MP games: Definitely yes. I used to love RPing on a PvE-RP server in WoW. Spent several years on a couple, had too many awesome RP stories and events to count, but somehow... I don't know. Time passed, maybe I got older, maybe the 'young ones' lost... eh... mental acuity, but it definitely went downhill once everybody was about 'omg rush rush, skip X, skip Y'. Personal, (somewhat) material gain (i.e. loot) gradually, but irrevocably crowded out the enjoyment of a well-crafted, diverse world. You know something is wrong when 90% of a server's population hangs out in Goldshire Inn spamming 'lol cyb0r' in between of LFG heroics / raids that get all the fun rushed out of them =(
Re thread: How is this feedback?

I suppose it's feedback... telling BW that some of their fans are morons? ![]()
Only when the people making the product listen to the fanbase that wants something I hate and puts it in the product.
The Cullen fanbase has ruined Dragon Age Inquisition for me. Not only I had to interact with him during Orgins as my possible executioner in the mage storyline, but also DA2.... now hes the commander of my inquistion forces in DA: Inquisition. Hes like a headless cockroach that wont die..
Sandal and Bodahn not getting a spotlight in inquistion is criminal like. How could Bioware do this to us while they infect us all with the Cullen virus?!?!?!

It mostly depends on if the community is actually involved directly in your gameplay, I think. Like if it's possible for them to hamper your game beyond the rules of the actual game; more extreme cases.
Otherwise, people will always discuss things they're passionate about, whether it's positively or negatively, and I just keep that in mind wherever I go.

I used to hate Cullen and wish he wouldn't be part of Inquisition, then I got to befriend him and do his personal questline in DAI and was like: "Meh, he's a good guy now. I think I'm okay." And yeah, I'm used to be part of the crowd who didn't get well with the Cullenites... Now I'm okay with him. I don't think he ruined the game, but I'm bummed he's only available as a straight option.
One great thing about DA games is that no matter what other people do in their game you can make your own choices. So as much as I might be at odds (or in agreement) with certain DA series fans I still control my own destiny for the most part. (Still wonders why Bella wasn't in Redcliff tho)
IRL certain fans of certain sports teams have put me off of most professional sports however.
Yes, I liked the original ME3 ending, it didn't need the EC
im color blind and all three pre-EC where the same to me D:
Honestly nothing's been 'ruined' so to say but I am concerned with the future of the series. I feel everything is toned down. From a dark, graphic, gritty series to a high fantasy with some dark points.
Also hope the political messages (right or left) stay out. Pro character diversity, anti-political message/teaching moments.
Of course, fanboys ruin everything, you name it.
Nope. That's over there. I'm over here, enjoying myself.
A fanbase in mass can definitely distort certain aspects of games, how good the performance or graphics, combat mechanics are going to be. I would have to say DAI is a good example of that, after seeing how awful the PS3 port turned out to be, and how much I heard beforehand of how it was not going to be as good as the PC/PS4/XBOX One versions, but it would still live up to PS3 standards.
Ruined? Not quite yet, but I have been severely disappointed this time around.
The BSN has come close, yes.
The Tomb Raider fanbase a bit more so.
If you think pining for Origins is bad enough, many fans are still pining for a return to the original Tomb Raider from 1996.
nah
the devs did that
Yep, though it tends to be something I am already iffy about and the actions of fans of that thing push it from iffy to not wanting anything to do with it.

I don't hate him... I just find him incredibly annoying. I could tolerate his annoyance in DA:O because he was a noob, but not in DA2. I felt that he was wrongfully rewarded of becoming a commander in the Inquisition from such utter incompetence in DA2.
I agree with Arisugawa. The BSN comes close sometimes to ruin something for me. Not so much the game but more my forum activity. Cullen is actually a good example since you really had to put up with so much bull**** from other users over the past few years if you dared to like this character. It was tough sometimes. I noticed that it can be healthy to take some time off from the forum. However, I still form my own opinion about games.

BSN has a way of imposing their dislike of a character upon those who feel differently. Players who enjoyed Fenris and Anders also suffered a lot.
Honestly? Report it, block the person if they do it again, and move on. There's plenty of awesome people in these boards that are always willing to have friendly discussions regarding BioWare games.
Sure, there is
. I've met some really awesome people here, too.

I find it amusing when people develop a bias about certain aspects of games, or feel the need to complain about political agendas in games... especially when they literally fabricate it out of thin air based on their delusional perceptions. ![]()
So as annoying as some people can be... it's also quite entertaining to see people complain about the most ridiculous things or go all keyboard warrior on others who don't agree.. I just sit back, get the popcorn and enjoy the show.
And yes, sometimes you can actually talk to some half-decent people and have some good discussions so.. it sort of balances out.
I will never be able to think of Tali without seeing the sweat analysis that one f*ck posted, so yes.
What? What was that? Seems funny. Just link (don't want to give you nightmares or something)...
